Under nanosecond-pulsed laser irradiation, light-absorbing thin films have been used for photoacoustic transmitters for ultrasound generation. Especially, nanostructured absorbers are attractive due to high optical absorption and efficient thermoacoustic energy conversion: for example, 2-dimensional (2-D) gold nanostructure array, synthetic gold nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and reduced graphene oxides. Among them, CNT has been used to fabricate a composite film with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) that exhibits excellent photoacoustic conversion performance for high-frequency, high-amplitude ultrasound generation. Previously, CNT-PDMS nanocomposite films were made by using a high-temperature chemical vapor deposition (HTCVD) process for CNT growth. However, this approach is not suitable to fabricate large-area CNT films (>several cm2). This is because a chamber dimension of HTCVD is limited and also the process often causes nonuniform CNT growth when the film area increases. As an alternative approach, a solution-based process can be used to overcome these issues. We develop PDMS composite transmitters, based on the solution process, using several nanostructured light-absorbers such as CNTs, nanoink powders, and imprinted regular arrays of gold nanostructure. We compare fabrication processes of each composite transmitters and photoacoustic output performance.
The purpose of this study is to develop high value-added uniform design in response to climate change, and produce high sensitivity uniforms that conserve the energy of its wearers. The scope of the study encompassed entire production stage from the product planning stage to developing a prototype to collecting consumer ratings to securing intellectual property. The results of the study are as follows. First, the material was developed that maximizes insulation by replicating human body heat radiation and raising the temperature by 5 degree Celsius. Second, through Time to Market system, a luxurious synthetic wool material was developed, and warm effect was achieved. Third, pattern design engineering for easy movement and design development allowed the realization of uniform design that is compatible indoors and outdoors as well as respond to highly active climate change. Fourth, Fifth, the developed design was registered and intellectual property rights were obtained.
The various shape of calcium carbonate were prepared. For the preparation of the PP/$CaCO_3$ composite, these synthetic calcium carbonate(cubic, spheric and neddle type) and PP were mixed on a two roll mill and the mixture were pressed into plate. The effect of particle shape in the prepared composite on the crystallization temperature, heat of fusion, size of spherulite and mechanical properities were investigated. It was found that the former four were strongly influenced by that. When, especially, vaterite was mixed with PP, the size of spherulite was smaller and the degree of crystallinity was higher than others. Therefore, the tensile strength and Young's modulus were higher.

Microbial colorants produced from Zooshikella sp. were developed as a reddish dye for fabrics. The reddish colorants were extracted from cell mass of Zooshikella sp. using 100% ethanol and were identified as prodiginine by 1H-NMR and FT-IR analysis. Microbial prodiginine had a maximum spectrophotomatric absorbance at 530nm and were chemically stable and 30 to $60^{\circ}C$. The microbial prodiginine could dye natural fibers such as cotton, silk, and wool as well as synthetic fibers such as nylon. The maximum K/S values of the dyed fiber were shown at 540 run with a color appearance of RP (reddish purple). Silk and nylon had an excellent dyeability among the experimental fibers. The optimum pH for the dyeing of experimental fibers was at pH 3.0 and dyeability was improved as the temperature increased. The cover change of dyed multifiber fabrics with the microbial prodiginine were measured after washing with detergents and a dry cleaning solvent for the selection of a proper fabric against microbial prodiginine. Among the experimental fibers, silk and nylon did not show significant color change after washing. Therefore, under the criteria of dyeability, silk and nylon were excellent fabrics for being dyed by microbial prodiginine.
An alkalophilic microorganism capable of degrading dyes was developed for the treatment of alkaline dye solution. This strain was identified as Pseudomonas species. Using this microorganism, biological treatment of dye was studied in Erlenmeyer flasks. The characteristics of this microorganism were observed under various incubating-condition such as temperature, pH, nitrogen source, and macronutrients concentration. The removal effciencies of Disperse Red 60 from synthetic wastewater were 33.5 ~ 36.9% at the range of $30{\sim}40^{\circ}C$, and they were 31.1 ~ 36.7% at the range of initial pH 8 ~ pH 10, respectively. The optimal culture medium was found to be 0.25%(w/v) yeast extract, 0.25%(w/v) polypeptone, 0.1%(w/v) $KH_2PO_4$, 0.2%(w/v) $MgSO_4{\cdot}7H_2O$, and 1.0%(w/v) $Na_2CO_3$. In treatment of various dyes using Erlenmeyer flasks, the removal effciencies of Disperse Blue 87, Disperse Yellow 64, Disperse Red 60, Acid Blue 193, Acid Red 138, and Direct Yellow 23 were found to be 76%, 71%, 58%, 93%, 94%, and 90% respectively after 24hrs reaction of alkalophilic strain Pseudomonas sp. YBE-12.
We examined the effects of synthetic signal peptides, wild-type (WT) and export-defective mutant (MT) of ribose-binding protein, on the conformational changes of signal recognition particle 54 homologue (Ffh) in Escherichia coli. Upon interaction of Ffh with WT peptide, the intrinsic Tyr fluorescence, the transition temperature of thermal unfolding, and the GTPase activity of Ffh decreased in a peptide concentration-dependent manner, while the emission intensity of 8-anilinonaphthalene-1-sulfonic acid increased. In contrast, the secondary structure of the protein was not affected. Additionally, polarization of fluorescein-labeled WT increased upon association with Ffh. These results suggest that WT peptide induces the unfolded states of Ffh. The WT-mediated conformational change of Ffh was also revealed to be important in the interaction between SecA and Ffh. However, MT had marginal effect on these conformational changes suggesting that the in vivo functionality of signal peptide is important in the interaction with Ffh and concomitant structural change of the protein.
The development of 2-D radiometer is a new technical challenge for space borne remote sensing area. The Y-type antenna array has been proposed as a most efficient configuration because a large alias free FOV and a small-synthesized beam-width can be achieved compared to L-, T-type under the fixed antenna spacing. New configuration of antenna array, which is called sub-Y type configuration, is proposed to obtain a higher angular resolution than the case of Y-type array in the paper. The sub-Y type array is consisted of basic arrays, which are the Y-type array of four antenna elements. To analyze characteristics of the proposed configuration, the synthesized beam pattern is simulated through simulation. The secondary effect of the sub-Y-type is that the reconstructed image is suffered from the alias effect is appeared around the real target. The ghost targets in the reconstructed image can be reduced by the alias suppression algorithm introduced in this paper. In conclusion, the performance evaluation by use of array factor simulation shows more than 37.5% improvement in average for angular resolution and almost similar performance for temperature resolution.

Guar gum is added to the pulp suspension at the suction side of the fan pump just before the sheet is formed on either a fourdrinier or cylinder machine. Guar gum replaced and supplements these hemicelluloses in paper bonding with many advantages, which include improved sheet formation with a more random distribution of pulp fibers. But, guar gum has serious storage problem. This material has easily decayed after High-temperature conditions such as summer. In this study, various properties of cotton handsheet were measured to solve the problem of deformation while storing guar gum and to improve the durability. After aging, which is one of the durability tests, cotton handsheet with 0.2% and 0.3% of A-PAM showed improved mechanical properties and bursting index and folding endurance of cotton handsheet with 0.3% of A-PAM were similar to those with guar gum. The yellowness loss of cotton handsheet with synthetic polymers was lower than those with guar gum.
Stishovite was synthesized from hydrous basaltic starting materials at 10∼15 ㎬ and $1000∼1400^{\circ}C$. Water content of synthetic stishovite has been determined, and solid solution mechanism of $H_2$ and Al in stishovite was investigated. The maximum water content obtained from stishovite single crystal was up to $844\pm$44 ppm $H_2$O. The concentration of hydrogen increased with increasing substitution of trivalent cation, mainly Al. The temperature effect on the hydrogen content in stishovite is more sensitive than that on any other impurities. Among the nominally anhydrous mantle-minerals, stishovite could be an important water-containing phase and contribute to the transportation of $H_2$O to lower mantle.

The study describes the results of batch experiments on the removal of Reactive Yellow 15 (RY15) and Reactive Black 5 (RB5) from synthetic textile wastewater onto Activated Carbon from Walnut shell (ACW). The experimental data were analyzed by the Langmuir, Freundlish, Temkin and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) models of adsorption. The experiments were carried out as function of initial concentrations, pH, temperature (303-333), adsorbent dose and kinetics. The surface area and pore volumes of adsorbent were measured by BET and BJH methods. The findings confirm the surface area (BET) is 248.99 $m^2/g$. The data fitted well with the Temkin and D-R isotherms for RY15 and RB5, respectively. The most favorable adsorption occurred in acidic pH. Pseudo-second order kinetic model were best in agreement with adsorption of RY15 and RB5 on ACW. The results indicate that walnut shell could be an alternative to more costly adsorbent currently being used for dyes removal.
