  • In this paper, we develop an active sonar signal synthesis model to analyze the detection performance of active sonar systems in a shallow water environment. Using this model, we synthesize the return signal of a bistatic sonar system at a typical operating frequency. This signal can be used to test proper active sonar signal processing techniques for real applications.

  • This paper presents design and performance improvement of a new digital tomosynthesis (DTS) system for object-detector synchronous rotation. Firstly, a new DTS system, called OSDR (Object-Detector Synchronous Rotation) is suggested and designed to acquire X-ray digital images. Secondly, the shape distortion of DTS images generated by an image intensifier is modeled. And a new synthesis algorithm, which overcomes the limitations of the existing synthesis algorithm, is suggested to improve the sharpness of the synthesized image. Also an artifact analysis of the DTS system is performed. Thirdly, some performance indices, which evaluate quantitatively performance improvement, are defined. And the experimental verification of the performance improvement is accomplished by the ODSR system newly designed. The advantages of the ODSR system are expressed quantitatively, compared with an existing system.

  • In this paper we propose a new approach to the autonomous wall-following of wheeled mobile robots using hybrid system reference motion synthesis and generation. The hybrid system approach is in-troduced to the motion control of nonholonomic mobile robots for the indoor navigation problems. In the dis-crete event system the discrete states are defined by the user-defined constraints and the reference mo-tion commands are specified in the abstracted motions. The hybrid control system applied for the non-holonomic mobile robots can combine the motion planning and autonomous navigation with obstacle avoid-ance for the indoor navigation problem. Simulation results show that hybrid system approach is an effective method for the autonomous navigation in indoor environments.

  • ${\mu}$-synthesis is applied to design a robust controller for a seeker scan loop system which has model uncertainty and is subject to a external disturbance due to abrupt missile maneuver. The issue of modelling a real-valued parametric uncertainty of a physical seeker scan loop system is discussed. The two-degree-of-frame control structure is employed to obtain better performance. It is shown that ${\mu}$-synthesis provides a superior framework for the robust control design of a seeker scan loop system which exhibits robust performance. The proposed robust control system satisfies design requirements, and especially shows good scanning performances for conical and rosette scan patterns despite parametric uncertainty in real system model.

  • In this paper, we are implemented the courseware targets to the integrated a digital system analysis, a design theory, and a hardware description language training and a logic analysis. This paper consists of two subjects. One is that the learning of a digital system analysis, that of a design theory, and the training of a hardware description language is simultaneously performed. The other is that the experiment of courseware. To learn the hardware description language, the explanation using sound or moving images, setting-up of a simulation or a synthesis program, and simulating are executed on a courseware. And also, we proposed an integrated systems for the hardware description language and a logic synthesis. Also, The reliablity of the tool was verified to be preyed an efficient operation of an implemented digital system courseware tool by korea computer research association.
