Waardenburg 씨 증후군은 1951년에 Waardenburg가 처음으로 기술한 이래 Partington(1959), DiGeorge(1960)등에 의해 이 증후군에 대한 보고가 있었다. 선천성 난청의 l∼7%를 차지하는 본 증후군은 선천성 난청 외에 내안각의 측면전위, 백색증, 홍채이색증, 비근부의 편평 및 미모의 과도형성 등의 증상을 특징으로 한다. 본 증후군에서 청력장애는 출생후 서서히 나타날 수도 있고 청력장애의 정도 및 양상도 Fisch(1959)등의 보고에서 보듯이 다양하게 나타날 수 있다. 저자는 이 증후군의 3례를 체험하였기에 문헌적 고찰과 아울러 보고하는 바이다.

This study was conducted to detect the Y-specific DNA in the blood of the female calf in bovine heterosexual production. Genomic DNAs of the freemartin were isolated from the blood and amplified with Y-chromosome specific DNA primer(l4lbp). In order to estimate the lower limit for the detection of XY cells, blood from a hull was diluted in cow blood to 0.01%. DNA sequencing on the PCR products was shown the same sequences as Y chromosome DNA of the normal cows. The Y specific DNA hand by PCR was detected all blood of female calf suspected to have bovine freemar tin syndrom and the karyotyping with freemartin blood was identified as XX / XY chimerism. Therefore, the PGR methods used in this study was very useful technique for the detection of freemartin in Ranwoo and Holstein.

1. The purpose To know the characteristics of Sasang Constitutional Medicine treatment for cronic rhinitis patients. 2. The method We analyzed statistically 104 patients who had consulted for cronic rhinitis in Iksan Wonkwang Oriental Medicine for three years from 1999 to 2001, using electronic chart developed by Kim Jong-Yeol. 3. The results 1) The efficiency rate of treatment was 73.8% and the recurrence rate was 51.1 %. the recurrence period was within 6 months in 76.0%, so we could consider the group not recurred within 6 months as successfully treated. 2) The number of Taeumin was 64.4% of total patients, which was higher than the rate of Taeumin to all patients during same period in Iksan Wonkwang Oriental Medicine. 3) The sufficiency rate of treatment was high when the treatment period was 30-60 days. 4) The prescriptions especially efficient for treatment were those treating exterior syndrom of each constitution.

In recent years, and with the increased adoption of digital transformation and spending long hours in front of these devices, clinicians have observed that the prolonged use of visual display units (VDUs) can result in a certain symptom complex, which has been defined as computer vision syndrome (CVS). This syndrome has been affected by many causes, such as light refractive errors, poor computer design, workplace ergonomics, and a highly demanding visual task. This research focuses on eliminating one of CVSs, which is the eye dry syndrome caused by infrequent eye blink rate while using a smart device for a long time. This research attempt to find a limitation on the current tools. In addition, exploring the other use cases to utilize the solution based on each vertical and needs.

Objective: The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of treating the carpal tunnel syndrome by using both the Herbal Acupuncture and herbal medicine therapy on five cases. Methods: For the Herbal Acupuncture, Jungseonguhhyul No. 1 and Hwanglyunhaedoktang were used. For the herbal medicine, Dangguihwalhyul-tang was used. The patients were treated once in every two days; the result was evaluated after ten treatments. Patients' conditions were monitored through their testimony, phalen's test, nerve conduction study and electromyography. Results: In all five cases, the patients showed improvement; in four cases, the patients no longer had most of the clinical symptoms. Based on the result of the nerve conduction study, for the four cases in which the patients no longer displayed most of the clinical symptoms, their nerve conduction rate improved; for the remaining one case, the patient's nerve conduction rate deteriorated. Conclusions: The results of this study demonstrate that combining the Herbal Acupuncture and herbal medicine therapy can have noticeable effects in treating the carpal tunnel syndrome; developing more variety of the herbal acupuncture would lead to even better treatment results.

기저세포 모반 증후군은 상염색체 우성 방식으로 유전되는 질환으로 다발성 각화낭성 치성종양, 대두증 및 두정골 융기, 골격계 기형 등을 보이는 질환이다. 다발성 각화낭성 치성 종양, 두정골 융기, 양안격리증을 가진 만 11세 환자의 하악과 상악에서 발생한 다양한 크기의 낭종에 대한 적출술과 이종골 이식술을 시행 후 교정적 견인을 시행하였다. 낭종에 의한 매복 영구치를 가진 성장중인 기저세포 모반 증후군 환자에서의 보존적인 치료를 하였기에 문헌고찰과 더불어 보고하고자 한다.

Ramsay Hunt Syndrome is caused by infection of herpes zoster and associated with otalgia, herpetic eruptions, facial palsy, trigerminal pain and cochleovestibular dysfunction such as deafness, tinnitus, vertigo and so on. A 60-year old female, who has tinnitus, peripheral facial palsy, deafness, vertigo, postauricular pain and herpetic eschar, had been admitted to Wonkwang University Oriental Jeonju Medicine Hospital. We treated this patient with Daehwangchijahwangbaeg-byung and Yongdamsagantang-gami, and the patients showed improvement in the symptoms. So we describe the process and contents about the way the patient was cured.

The objective of this study was to investigate the diagnosis and treatment of Retinal vein occlusion such as syndrome differentiation and herbal medicine by reviewing Chinese traditional medicine`s journals. The journal search was carried out using China National Knowledge Infrastructure and Pubmed from January 2000 to December 2014. Searching key words were the various combination of "Retinal vein occlusion", "traditional chinese medicine", "syndrome differentiation". The final selection of 11 studies were selected and summarized by researchers. The effective rate was significantly higher than control but, methodological quality of the trials was generally low questioning their liability. The syndrome differentiation was classified as hyperactivity of liver yang and blood stasis. The most frequently prescribed herbal medication was Hyulbuchookeotang, Boyanghwanotang and Cheomagudeungum. This finding could be widely utilized in future clinical practice and form the basis for the development of clinical practice guidelines in advance.

VATER 증후군은 심장의 기형을 동반하기 쉬운 복합기형이지만 적절하고 적극적인 수술적 치료에 의해 완치에 이를 수 있는 기형이다. 저자들은 VATER 증후군에 심장기형이 동반된 여아에서 적극적인 수술적 치료로 만족할만한 성과를 얻어 이 증례를 고찰과 함께 보고하는바이다.

The etiologic agents of haemorragic fever with ranal syndrom (HFRS) in Korea are Hantaan and Seoul virus in the genus Hantavirus, family Bunyaviridae. In order to elucidate the role of maternal immunity to Hantavirus infection in rats, the protective effect of the maternal antibody were studies by using rats experimentally infected with Seoul virus strain HR80-39. Antibody titers of sera and viral antigen against Seoul virus were investigated by indirect immunofluorscence antibody technique (IFA). The dam sera had IFA antibody titers ranging from 1:128 to 1:1,024 after parturition. In fetuses, IFA antibody titers ranged from 1: 16 to 1:64 just after birth, increased to peak titers ranged from 1:256 to 1:1,024 in the 2nd week after birth. Challenged newborn rats had IFA antibody titers ranging from 1:64 to 1:1,024 after inoculation. No viral antigen was detected in lungs or other organs of the newborn rats. The maternal antibody to Seoul virus was transferred prenatally through placenta and postnatally via colostrum from immune dams to their offspring. These results demonstrated that maternal antibody to Seoul virus was quite effective in protecting newborn rats against same virus infection.
