A Study on Comparison of Two phase SRMs (2상 SRM의 비교에 관한 연구)

  • In small-power applications, variable-speed motors having high efficiency and controllability become more dominant than brushed DC motors. BLDC motors with permanent magnets in the rotor and SRMs directed by reluctance torque due to no permanent magnets have been strongly studied as a candidate. Compared to the BLDC motors, SRMs are more suitable for low-cost applications since the magnetic structure is simple, mechanically robust, and cheap due to no additional excitation in the rotor such as copper wire, aluminum, and permanent magnets. In addition, relatively small number of phases in single and two-phase SRMs allows more cost savings with regards to material in the motor and switching devices in the converter. In this paper, several 2 phase SRMs are compared to a 3 phase 6/4 SRM in terms of flux distribution in key parts of the motors.

  • Analysis, design and practical implementation of a single-stage electronic ballast for compact fluorecent lamps are presented in this paper. The proposed topology is based on a single-stage ballast which combines a boost converter and a half-bridge series resonant inverter. High power factor is achieved by using the boost semi-stage operating in discontinuous conduction mode, and inverter semi-stage operated above resonant frequency to provide zero voltage switching is employed to ballast the fluorescent lamp. Analytical and experimental results from the ballast system with 36W fluorescent lamps have demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed single-stage electronic ballast.

  • This paper proposes a nonlinear impedance circuit composed by diodes and inductors or capacitors. This circuit needs no control circuits and switches, and the impedance value is changed by the polarity of current or voltage. This paper presents one of these applications to improve the input current of capacitor input diode rectifiers. The rectifier using the nonlinear impedance circuit id constructed with four diodes and four capacitors in addition to the conventional rectifiers, that is, it has eight diodes and five capacitors, including a DC link capacitor. It makes harmonic components of the input current reduce and the power factor improve. A circuit design method is shown by experimentation and confirmed simulation. It explained that compared conventional pulse-width modulated (PWM)inverter with half pulse-width modulated (HPWM) inverter proposed HPWM inverter eliminated dead-time by lowering switching loss and holding over-shooting.

  • 멀티 레벨 인버터는 높은 출력 전압을 갖으며, 낮은 THD(Total harmonic distortion)를 요구하는 시스템에 적합하다. 그 중 cascaded H-brige 멀티레벨 인버터는 H-bridge 셀별 관리가 쉽고, 레벨 수를 증가시키기 쉽다는 장점 때문에 많이 이용되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 cascaded H-bridge 인버터의 기존 PI (proportional integral) 제어 기반 PWM (pulse width modulation)기법의 스위칭 패턴과 모델 예측 제어의 스위칭 패턴을 비교하고 모델예측 제어 시 셀 별 스위칭 패턴 균형을 위한 방법을 제안한다.

  • 본 논문은 3상 인터리브드 양방향 DC-DC 컨버터를 다룬다. 전류 리플을 줄이기 위해 3상 인터리브드 방식을 이용하였으며 소프트 스위칭 조건을 확보하기 위해 DCM으로 동작한다. DCM동작시 발생할 수 있는 스위칭 노이즈를 저감하기 위하여 새로운 스위칭 기법을 제안하고 검증한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차용 부하 직렬 공진형 컨버터(Series-loaded Resonant Converter, SRC)타입의 탑재형 충전기 (On-Board Charger, OBC)의 추가 회로 없이 경부하 효율을 향상시키기 위한 스위칭 방법들을 비교 분석한다. 시스템에 적용할 스위칭 제어 방법은 Asymmetrical Duty Cycle Control (ADC)과 Asymmetrical Voltage-Cancellation Control (AVC) 방법이다. 각 제어 방법을 기존의 3.3kW SRC-OBC의 적용하여 경부하 영역에서의 효율을 확인하고 각 제어 방법의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • This paper designs the high-efficiency and the low-cost drive system of the smallsize electric vehicles (EVs). The power circuit for driving the dc motor is designed by considering both the cost and efficiency. In order to reduce the conduction loss of MOTFET and diode for controlling an armature voltage, some MOSFETs and diodes at the armature are in parallel connection. An operating sequence for both the field current and the armature voltage according to the accelerator pedal angle is suggested for changing smoothly the rotating direction of dc motor. Through the simulation studies, the performances of the proposed methods are verified.

  • In this paper, the circuit of AC Choppers for $CO_2$laser Power Supply are proposed and investigated. IGBT-controlled ac voltage regulators, operating at high frequency chopping mode. Chopping-to-supply duty ratio plays an important role in terms of laser output. Laser input energy is varied by controlling the leakage transfomer used with the proposed system. This improved circuit employs a 3 electrode-type and Ring Blower. This improved circuit system has many advantages compared with the conventional SMPS such as simple design requirment, easy implementation, high reliability, low switching loss, and consequently high efficiency. As a result, the maximun output was 16W at duty-ratio of 92%, total gas mixture of $CO_2$: $N_2$: He = 1 : 9 : 15, total pressure of 15torr.

  • 본 논문은 연료전지를 이용한 가정용 발전시스템의 계통 연계를 위한 3kW급 전력변환 시스템의 개발에 관한 것이다. 저전압 대전류 출력특성을 갖는 연료전지의 전류리플 최소화를 위해 멀티페이즈 컨버터를 적용한 DC/DC 승압 컨버터를 제안하고자 한다. 특히 고밀도 전력변환 시스템의 스위칭 손실 극소화를 위해 고효율 ZVS Soft-Switching 동작을 구현하였다. 또한 본 연구에서는 높은 승압비로 변환된 전압을 통해 계통운전 동작을 수행하기 위한 DC/AC 단상 인버터와 고효율 무결점 기능을 갖는 디지털 방식의 DSP를 적용한 제어기 개발도 병행하여 수행되었다. 제안하는 3kW급 멀티페이즈 컨버터 및 계통연계형 인버터의 Proto-Type을 제작하고 실험을 통해 본 방식의 타당성을 검증하였다.
