  • In this research, we describe a force feedback control for industrial robots has been proposed as a system which is suitable to work utilizing pressure sensitive alternative to human. Conventionally, polished surface of the workpiece are recognized, chamfer ridge, machining processes such as deburring, and it is most difficult to automate because of its complexity, has been largely dependent on the human. To aim to build automatic vacuum system robotic force control was gripping the grinding tool, the present study we examined the adaptability to the polishing process to understand the characteristics of the control system feedback signal obtained from the force sensor mainly. Furthermore, as a field, which holds the key to the commercialization, I went ahead with the application to robotic sweeping machine. As a result, the final sweeping utilizing a robot machine to obtain a very good grinded surface was revealed.

  • Effects of the settlement density of germlings and canopy on settled germlings of Fucus serratus were investigated on the rocky shore of the Isle of Man. The survival of transplanted germlings was mainly determined by parent canopy rather than by initial settlement density of germlings. However, germling growth was greater at low density than at high density and enhanced by canopy removal. Recruitment by natural propagules was stimulated at high settlement density and maximal recruits occurred on caged slides under the canopy. On the experimental slides, tiny snails and sedimentation were ,found. The number of snails was positively related with the settlement density of germ lings indicating that they fed the germlings. Sedimentation and snail number were greater with canopy removal treatments than in canopy intact ones. These indicate that ,canopy sweeping gives benefits to germlings by removing sediment from substrata and protecting them from herbivores. In conclusion, the survival of settled F. serratus germlings is mainly determined by canopy sweeping and their growth is retarded in the presence of a canopy and at high settlement density.

  • A heuristic sweeping algorithm for an autonomous smearing robot which executes the area filling task is proposed. This algorithm searches tracking points with the obstacle andenvironment wall while the robot tracking whole workspace, and finds sequential tracking line by sequentally connecting the tracking points in such a way that (1) the line should be never crossed, (2) the total tracking points should be is linked as short as possible, and (3) the tracking link should be cross over the obstacle in the work-space. If the line pass through the obstacle, hierarchical collision free algorithm proposed is implied. The proposed algorithm consists of (1) collision detection procedure, (2) obstacle map making procedures, (3) tracking points generation procedures for subgosls, (4) tracking points scanning procedures, and (5) obstacle avoidance procedure.

  • MRI imaging provides many benefits such as noninvasive, 3-dimensional imaging capabilities. But it has relatively serious drawback that is the long data collection time, compared with other imaging modality. Many studies have been performed for fast MR imaging. But EPI and SEPI (4-6) are required to expensive hardware. In this paper, we introduce to Burst imaging technique. It can reduce imaging time by use of a mulitple RF excitation technique. Further it is easily implemented to the normal MRI system. But a pixel profile in the conventional burst sequence is so poor that excited area by burst sequence is a small portion of a pixel. This causes poor signal to noise ratio in burst image. therefore frequency sweeping of RF pulse for burst imaging sequence is proposed to improve pixel profile. A burst pulse train is shaped by liner or nonlinear frequency sweeping function so that all the spins within a pixel are excited, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio. It also shows that the pixel profiles are dependent on how frequency sweep is made. Computer simulations with Bloch equation and experimental results obtained using a 1.0 T NMR imaging system are presented.

  • Dislocation density and distribution in epitaxial GaAs layer on Si are evaluated quantitatively and effectively using image processing of transmission electron microscopy image. In order to evaluate dislocation density and distribution, three methods are introduced based on line-intercept, line-length measurement and our coding with line-scanning method. Our coding method based on line-scanning is used to detect the dislocations line-by-line effectively by sweeping a thin line with the width of one pixel. The proposed method has advances in the evaluation of dislocation density and distribution. Dislocations can be detected automatically and continuously by a sweeping line in the code. Variation of dislocation density in epitaxial GaAs films can be precisely analyzed along the growth direction on the film.

  • A sweeping jet actuator (SJA) is an instrument generating pulsing jets with no moving elements. Because of its simple design and high durability to shock and vibration, SJA has recently drawn increasing attention for the application to flow control such as aerodynamic control of a wing and thrust vectoring of a jet engine. However, experimental and numerical studies on SJA have been limited to internal flow structure of SJA. In this study, we investigated the flow structure and its variation in the outlet of SJA. We carried out the experiment to understand the flow structures using PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry). The flow structure varies with a degree of the outlet and volume flow rate. There is leaking process during half jetting cycle. The process of the main jet can occur because the jet moving time increased from one side to the other side.

  • A study on the construction of a CAD/CAM system operated by 16 Bit PC basic language, for machining sculptured surface of die, was carried out. The system consists of 2 steps i.e., process for geometric modelling by wire frame and process for machining data generation. Geometric modelling for sculptured surface is made by the point data fitting, parallel sweeping, normal sweeping and linear connection of cross section curve. Machining data are gained by cutter off-set of geometric model data and machining carried out by DNC. This system is to be proved enough for rough cutting by actual machining experiment. But, for becoming a high level system, another method of cutter off-set has to be regarded and system must be reconstructed by another program language.

  • This study introduces Electro-chemical Mechanical Deposition(ECMD) lot making Cu interconnect. ECMD is a novel technique that has ability to deposit planar conductive films on non-planar substrate surfaces. Technique involves electrochemical deposition(ECD) and mechanical sweeping of the substrate surface Preferential deposition into the cavities on the substrate surface nay be achieved through two difference mechanisms. The first mechanism is more chemical and essential. It involves enhancing deposition into the cavities where mechanical sweeping does not reach. The second mechanism involves reducing deposition onto surface that is swept. In this study, we demonstrate ECMD process and characteristic. We proceeded this experiment by changing of distribution of current density on divided water area zones and use different pad types.

  • This article deals with the development of a mathematical model for the finishing polycarbonate polymerization process using a horizontal rotating disk-ring reactor with counter-current gas sweeping and the performance analysis of the reactor system by using the model. Here we intend to propose a model describing the reactor system consisting of two phases, in which by-product phenol is removed from the polymer of high molecular weight compatible with the products of commercial grades. The vapor phase is represented by a tanks-ln-series model while the polymer melt phase is regarded as a plug flow reactor.

  • For effective part modifications which is necessary in the design process frequently, variational geometric modeling with constraint management being used in a wide. Most variational geometric modeling methods, however, manage just the constraints about sketch elements used for generation of primitives. Thus, not only constraint propagation but also re-build of various modeling operations stored in the modeling history is necessary iota part geometry modifications. Especially, re-build of high-cost Boolean operations is apt to deteriorate overall modeling efficiency abruptly. Therefore, in this paper we proposed an algorithm that can handle all geometric entities of the part directly. For this purpose, we introduced eight type geometric constraints to the various geometric calculations about all geometric entities in sweepings and Boolean operations as well as the existing constraints of the sketch elements. The algorithm has a merit of rapid part geometric modifications through only constraint propagation without rebuild of modeling operations which are necessary in the existing variational geometric modeling method.
