The study of insect fauna in Taeanhaean National Park in Korea began with the first survey of natural resources in 1996, and then the surveys were conducted seasonally from 2005 to 2014. The surveyed sites were mostly coastal areas, sand dunes, and back grasslands. Insects were collected by sweeping with insect net, suction, pitfall trap, light trap, and Malaise trap. As a result, a total of 1,540 species of 215 families belonging to 17 orders were identified. Lepidoptera was the most populous group at 34.2% and followed by Coleoptera at 28.3%, Hemiptera at 12.7%, Diptera at 8.5%, Hymenoptera at 7.1%, Orthoptera at 4.7%, Odonata at 2.0%, and others. The analysis of change of arenaceous insect fauna before and after the accident by the Hebei Spirit that spilt oil in Taean in December 2007 showed that 45 arenaceous insect species, mostly belonging to Coleoptera, were observed through the whole survey period. The impact of oil spill on the number of arenaceous insect species appearing in the area was minor.
For the prevention of worldwide prevalent disease of nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV), environmental conditions and their incidence of grasserie was investigated through 57 cases of silkworm rearing from the year of 1979 to 1993 in the countries of Korea, Japan, and Philippines. Relationship between the occurrence of NPV and environmental factors were also analysed from the aspect of causal pathogenesis. Unfavorable foactors related to the prevalence of NPV disease was reconfirmed by the assay of experimental rearing. Silkworms reared on mulberry leaves or artificial diet appeared similar result on the occurrence of grasserie. Disinfection by formalin and simple sweeping or washing was not significantly different on the occurrence of NPV disease. Following insufficient ventilation on the younger larvae. from the 1st to 3rd instar, the disease by NPV at the later stage was remarkably emphasized those insidence. An experimental rearing from 1993 to 1996 demonstrated the prevention of NPV disease by simple cleaning of sweeping under the condition of air forced ventilation, the customal practice of disinfection with formalin or any other chemical agents could be omissible.
This study was conducted to determine pheromone trap type and height in forecasting populations of R. clavatus in soybean fields using pheromone. The most effective pheromone trap type and height in forecasting populations of R. clavatus were fish trap and 60 cm above ground. Ratio of R. clavatus adults female and male in soybean field was 1.5 to 1 and Piezodorus hybneri was also attracted to the aggregation pheromone trap of R. clavatus. Attractiveness of two stink bug species caught on synthesis pheromone of R. clavatus was surveyed with imported production and synthesized production. Imported pheromone attracted only adult of R. clavatus, but synthesized pheromone attracted both adult of R. clavatus and P. hybneri. Change of population of R. clavatus was observed using pheromone trap and sweeping method in soybean field. Adults of R. clavatus occurred from early August and the population reached its peak in early September when pheromone trap was used. In case of sweeping method, its fluctuation pattern was similar to that of pheromone trap.
This study was conducted to evaluate the scouting methods for larva and adults of the alfalfa weevil, $Hypera$$postica$ Gyllenhal on Chinese milkvetch, $Astragalus$$sinicus$ L. in the field. Three sampling methods, shake-bucket, shake-picking, and a sweeping net were evaluated for collecting alfalfa weevil larvae. We found significant differences among scouting methods and date in all survey fields. Sweep-net sampling was less able to detect small larvae than large larvae, which were not detected until early April whereas the shake-bucket, and shake-picking methods efficiently collected larvae from middle March. A Pitfall trap with three different baits - no bait, kidney bean seeds and sprouting kidney beans were compared for collection efficiency of alfalfa weevil adults. Collection efficiencies were significantly different by bait(p<0.018). Traps baited with sprouting kidney beans were the most efficient for collecting the alfalfa weevil. The number of alfalfa weevil caught was not significantly different between kidney bean seed and no bait in the pitfall trap. Therefore, the shake-bucket method for larvae and a pitfall trap baited with sprouting kidney beans for adults are recommended for scouting of the alfalfa weevil in a Chinese milkvetch field.

In the present study, $CO_2$ permeation through a hydrophilic NaY zeolite membrane was studied under permeate evacuation mode for $CO_2$ single gas, $CO_2-N_2$ and $CO_2-O_2$ binary mixtures, and $CO_2-N_2-O_2$ ternary mixture. It was reconfirmed that the $CO_2$ permeation was governed by surface diffusion and the $CO_2$ selectivity was induced from blocking effect of adsorbed $CO_2$ molecules. The $CO_2$ permeance measured in permeate evacuation mode was much lower than that done in He sweeping mode, but was comparable to that obtained under feed pressurization mode. The NaY zeolite membrane showed a considerable $CO_2$ separation for $14%CO_2-80%N_2-6%O_2$ mixture : $CO_2$ permeance was about $1{\times}10^{-7}mol/m^2secPa$ and $CO_2$ selectivity was more than 10. Therefore, it was concluded that NaY zeolite membrane was one of promising membranes for post-combustion CCS process.
DLG (Dosimetric Leaf Gap) and transmission factor are important parameters of MLC modeling in treatment planning system. In this study, DLG and transmission factor of HD-MLC were measured using detector with different measuring volumes, and the accuracy of the treatment plans was evaluated according to the DLG values. DLG was measured using the dynamic sweeping gap method with Semiflux3D and MicroDiamond detectors. Then, 10 radiation treatment plans were generated to optimize the DLG value and compared with the measurement results. Photon energies 6, 8, 10 MV, the DLG measured by Semiflux3D were 0.76, 0.83, and 0.85 mm, and DLG measured by MicroDiamond were 0.78, 0.86, and 0.9 mm. All plans were measured by portal dosimetry and analyzed using Gamma Evaluation. In the 6 MV photon beams, the average gamma passing rate were 94.3% and 98.4% for DLG 0.78 mm and 1.15 mm. In the 10 MV photon beam, the average gamma passing rate were 91.2% and 97.6% for DLG 0.9 mm and 1.25 mm. HD-MLC needs accurate modeling in the treatment planning system. DLG could be used measured data using small volume detector. However, for better radiation therapy, DLG should be optimized at the commissioning stage of LINAC.

In this paper, we investigated current (I)- and voltage (V)-sweeping properties in a double-stack structure, Ge2Sb2Te5/Ti/W-doped Ge8Sb2Te11, a candidate medium for applications to multilevel phase-change memory. 200-nm-thick and W-doped Ge2Sb2Te5 and W-doped Ge8Sb2Te11 films were deposited on p-type Si(100) substrate using magnetron sputtering system, and the sheet resistance was measured using 4 point-probe method. The sheet resistance of amorphous-phase W-doped Ge8Sb2Te11 film was about 1 order larger than that of Ge2Sb2Te5 film. The I- and V-sweeping properties were measured using sourcemeter, pulse generator, and digital multimeter. The speed of amorphous-to-multilevel crystallization was evaluated from a graph of resistance vs. pulse duration (t) at a fixed applied voltage (12 V). All the double-stack cells exhibited a two-step phase change process with the multilevel memory states of high-middle-low resistance (HR-MR-LR). In particular, the stable MR state is required to guarantee the reliability of the multilevel phase-change memory. For the Ge2Sb2Te5 (150 nm)/Ti (20 nm)/W-Ge8Sb2Te11 (50 nm), the phase transformations of HR→MR and MR→LR were observed at t<30ns and t<65ns, respectively. We believe that a high speed and stable multilevel phase-change memory can be optimized by the double-stack structure of proper Ge-Sb-Te films separated by a barrier metal (Ti).

To evaluate the possibility as a multi-level memory medium for the Ge2Sb2Te5/TiN/W-doped Ge2Sb2Te5 cell structure, the crystallization rate and stabilization characteristics according to voltage (V)- and current (I)- pulse sweeping were investigated. In the cell structures prepared by a magnetron sputtering system on a p-type Si (100) substrate, the Ge2Sb2Te5 and W-doped Ge2Sb2Te5 thin films were separated by a barrier metal, TiN, and the individual thicknesses were varied, but the total thickness was fixed at 200 nm. All cell structures exhibited relatively stable multi-level states of high-middle-low resistance (HR-MR-LR), which guarantee the reliability of the multilevel phase-change random access memory (PRAM). The amorphousto-multilevel crystallization rate was evaluated from a graph of resistance (R) vs. pulse duration (T) obtained by the nanoscaled pulse sweeping at a fixed applied voltage (12 V). For all structures, the phase-change rates of HR→MR and MR→LR were estimated to be approximately t<20 ns and t<40 ns, respectively, and the states were relatively stable. We believe that the doublestack structure of an appropriate Ge-Sb-Te film separated by barrier metal (TiN) can be optimized for high-speed and stable multilevel PRAM.

A test facility which can simultaneously measure turbocharger operating condition variables and vibro-acoustic emission in the situations that are quite similar to real internal combustion engine operating conditions has been introduced. Using this facility, a new method sweeping from full open throttle to deep surge region along constant speed curves can be utilized instead of the stationary method that has been traditionally used to obtain turbocharger compressor maps. Data covering an extensive range of the compressor performance map have been collected and analyzed. An experimental study is performed to define a noise diagram that correlates vibro-acoustic measurements to aerothermodynamic operating conditions. An instrumentation set in the facility allows the automatic definition of the operating point on the turbine and compressor map of the turbocharger. Also, radiated sound pressure and casing vibration data corresponding to the point are obtained by a microphone in the vicinity of the compressor casing and an accelerometer on the casing. The major source(s) of noise at specific operating point on the map can be easily identified with these maps. Also, acoustic characteristics of a given turbocharger at the vicinity of the surge as well as in the surge are also defined. Finally, the possibility to define mild surge region of a turbocharger using vibro-acoustic measurements is studied.
The Lattice Boltzmann Method has developed for solving the Boltzmann equation in Cartesian domains containing immersed boundaries of arbitrary geometrical complexity moving with prescribed kinematics. When a immersed boundaries are sweeping the fixed fluid node, refilling the node information in a vicinity of fluid nodes is one of the important issues in Lattice Boltzmann Method. In this study, we propose a simple refill algorithm for the particle distribution function based on a proper velocity, density and strain rate to enhance accuracy and stability of the method. The refill scheme based on a asymptotic analysis of LBGK model has improved accuracy than interpolation schemes. The proposed scheme in this study is validated by the simulations of an impulsively started rotating circular cylinder to investigate adaptability for fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problem. This refill scheme has improved stability and accuracy especially at high Reynolds number region.
