교육적인 측면에서의 패션과 지속가능발전 (Fashion and Sustainable Development in the Educational Aspects)

  • Sustainability has been a important issue in fashion industry that reflects the modern phase of the time. More education institutions than ever before are beginning to offer specialized courses, certificates and degrees related to sustainability in fashion, and many fashion institutions are working to embed sustainability issues into the educational contents. In this study, I investigate how sustainability is being integrated into the curriculum of leading fashion institutions, corporate management activity across the world and overview the world leading educational programmes related to sustainable fashion, pulling out the unique expertise and areas of specialization for each institution. In conclusion, the sustainable fashion were still not widely promoted domestical fashion institutions compare with other foreign leading fashion institutions. This happens in fashion business as well. Korean fashion institutions have to make educational program and certificates and degrees related to sustainability because the educational program can transform domestic fashion industry to sustainable fashion leading country level.

Toward Post-Pandemic Sustainable FDI Workforce: An Examination of Factors Affecting the Well-Being of Migrant Workers in Ho Chi Minh City

  • Globalization and the flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the post-pandemic context continue to play a critical role in shaping the workforce of emerging countries. In Vietnam, evidence obtained during the pandemic revealed that the well-being of employees, especially migrant workers, was extremely poor due to both work and non-work factors. This paper examines the most significant factors that impact the well-being of workers employed by various FDI companies in two Vietnamese industrial parks. The survey evidence (n=200) shows that worker well-being is influenced by seven key factors categorized in three dimensions, namely material stressors, social stressors, and human stressors. A further qualitative analysis of 60 participants provides an understanding of the ways in which each factor affects workers' well-being and how elements of well-being in the Vietnamese context are different compared with other countries. Low salaries, lack of social support, work-life imbalance due to job demands, and the interplay between these three determinants significantly affect the overall well-being of workers. In the current business climate, it is important to have well-targeted policies that encourage high-tech investments as well as persuade domestic firms to address low salaries and economic migration. To manage valuable human resources and keep competitive advantages, foreign firms need to authentically implement corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focusing on workers' benefits, especially providing workforce housing. This will bring about win-win outcomes of improved employee well-being and business sustainability.

  • A sustainable building must produce an interior environment that is safe, healthy, comfortable and supportive of human performance and well-being. The medical human comfort: performance and productivity cost of unhealthy environment may cause much cost for healing. Research that buildings with daylight, fresh air, eco-materials and sustainable interior design are consistently rated as more comfortable and occupants performance, satisfaction and health. This study is to categorize systematically interior environmental design elements for improving sustainability with a view to developing an evaluation model of super high-rise apartment unit plans. With a literature survey and design guide lines concerning sustainable design elements, three hierarchical categorization levels of human, environment, energy and resources systems that consists of upper, middle, low design elements have been proposed. A total of 6 items have been suggested for middle level of categorization and 24 items for lower level. Finally a total of 107 design elements concerning the 24 items and their relationahips have been revealed. The needs for a systematic approach to interior environmental design for sustainability have been discussed.

지속가능성의 문화적 차원 - 독일의 문화정책과 문화예술경영을 중심으로 - (A Cultural Dimension of Sustainability -Focusing on Cultural Policy and Arts Management in Germany-)

  • 지속가능성에 대한 논의는 주로 세 분야, 생태, 경제, 환경 중심으로 이루어져 왔다. 그러나 이 세 분야만이 아니라 '문화적 차원'도 고려되어야 한다는 논의 역시 만만치 않게 제기되고 있다. 본 연구는 먼저 독일어권을 중심으로 '지속가능성의 문화적 차원'이 어떠한 과정을 거쳐, 어떻게 전개되고 있는지를 살펴본다. 또한 그 논의는 문화정책, 문화예술경영으로도 수렴되고 있는데, 그 구체적인 내용이 무엇인지 제시할 것이다. 지속가능성 논의에서 애초 '문화'는 다른 세 분야를 발전시키는 데 도움을 주는 도구적 역할로 인식되었다. 그러나 2000년 이후 독일어권에서는 점차 '문화'를 생태, 경제, 사회와 동등한 차원에 두어야 한다는 주장이 제기되기 시작하였다. 지속가능한 발전을 위해서는 기술적, 환경 정책적 측면과 함께 문화적인 것이 고려되어야 한다는 것이다. 이러한 논의 과정을 바탕으로 본 연구는 스타머의 문화정책적 요구에 대해 살펴 본 후, 클라인의 문화정책, 문화예술경영에서의 지속가능성을 살펴본다. 전자는 '지속가능한 문화'와 관련하여 전통을 중요시한다면, 후자는 칼로비츠의 지속가능성 이해에 입각하여 '문화적 지속가능성'에 초점을 두고 있고, 그것은 바로 '수요자 중심이고 관객개발'로 요약된다.

아산 외암마을 토속경관의 문화유산적 가치 (The Landscape Value of Asan Oeam-ri's Folk Village as Cultural Heritage)

  • 근대화 과정에서 우리나라의 수많은 농촌마을은 문화경관적 건전성을 상실한 채 변질이나 해체과정을 경험하고 있다. 그러나 충청남도 아산에 위치하는 외암마을(국가지정 문화재 중요민속자료 제236호, 세계문화유산 잠정목록)은 신전통주의 부흥을 추구하며 지속성을 유지한 채 한국의 대표적인 민속마을로 자리매김하고 있다. 외암마을은 예안이씨 동족마을로 500여년의 긴 역사 동안 환경적, 경제적, 사회적 지속성과 건전성을 지켜온 민속마을로서 문화유산적 가치 측면에서 'Outstanding Universal Value'의 필요충분조건을 갖춘 토속경관 사례이다. 유교적 문화경관 지표물(종가, 사당과 묘역, 신도비, 정려와 송덕비, 정자 등)과 다양한 민간신앙 요소(장승과 솟대, 당산목, 산신당, 마을숲 등), 그리고 유 무형의 생활문화(활발한 문중활동과 엄정한 조상숭배 의례, 가계계승의식, 공동체 농경문화 및 생태환경의 보존 등)를 지속성있게 전승함으로써 전통시대 양반촌을 상징하는 보편성과 완전성, 그리고 진정성을 유지한 채 정체성을 표출하고 있다. 특히, 동아시아의 독특한 환경설계원리인 풍수지리적 관점에서 마을을 자리 잡기하여 환경적으로 건전한 정주공간(nature + economy + environment + community)을 구축함으로서 토속성 짙은 문화경관을 완성한 사례가 되는데, 외암오산(광덕, 설아, 송악, 월라, 면잠)과 외암오수(용추, 인곡, 반계, 역천, 온정)와 같은 광역 생태문화경관의 보전과 같은 자연환경의 절제, 그리고 생태환경의 질서와 문화적 가치를 중시하는 환경관(capacity + healthy + sustain-ability)을 결합하여 지속성과 진정성을 지켜나가고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 외암마을 토속문화경관은 유네스코 세계유산 등록기준 IV(인류역사의 발달단계를 보여주는 뛰어난 유형의 건축물이나 건조물 집합체 또는 조경유산)와 V(뛰어난 유형의 전통 인간 거주지 또는 급격한 변화로 파괴의 위험에 직면한 문화의 대표적 유산으로서 토지에 기반을 둔 유산)의 범주에 포함되는 우리나라 공동체 사회의 대표적 사례가 된다.

  • 현재 지구는 지구 온난화, 기상이변의 이상신호로 인해 전 세계적으로 자연과 인간의 상생이 중요하며, 인간의 먹거리까지 친환경 웰빙 음식에 관심이 급증한다. 우리나라는 지난 10여 년 동안 유기농업이 발전 되어왔으나 선진국에 비교해 미비하나 향후 전 세계 유기농 시장이 확대될 것이다. 2015년 세계유기농산업엑스포가 충북 괴산군에서 9월 18일부터 10월 11일 까지 개최됨에 따라 우리나라 유기농업이 발전할 것이다. 성공적이며 안전한 엑스포가 되어 안녕강국 대한민국이 되기에 일조하는 방향으로 주요 지표들을 개발하였는바, 5개 부문의 위험성 감쇄가 주안점이며, 녹색보전, 경제성장, 사회발전, 과학기술예술성, 자율자발성부문이다.

  • With the advent of the genomics era powered by DNA sequencing technologies, life science is being transformed significantly and biological research and development have been accelerated. Environmental biology concerns the relationships among living organisms and their natural environment, which constitute the global biogeochemical cycle. As sustainability of the ecosystems depends on biodiversity, examining the structure and dynamics of the biotic constituents and fully grasping their genetic and metabolic capabilities are pivotal. The high-speed high-throughput next-generation sequencing can be applied to barcoding organisms either thriving or endangered and to decoding the whole genome information. Furthermore, diversity and the full gene complement of a microbial community can be elucidated and monitored through metagenomic approaches. With regard to human welfare, microbiomes of various human habitats such as gut, skin, mouth, stomach, and vagina, have been and are being scrutinized. To keep pace with the rapid increase of the sequencing capacity, various bioinformatic algorithms and software tools that even utilize supercomputers and cloud computing are being developed for processing and storage of massive data sets. Environmental genomics will be the major force in understanding the structure and function of ecosystems in nature as well as preserving, remediating, and bioprospecting them.

Solar Energy Development in Viet Nam: Opportunities and Challenges

  • Nowadays Viet Nam's energy supply which is mainly produced by fossil fuels energy such as coal, gas, and oil. However, the operation of fossil fuel power plants is one of the major causes of environmental pollution and climate change as well. It has a serious impact on the survival of human beings in general. As can be seen, the manufacturing industry is strongly invested, the demand for energy is also increasing. As traditional fossil fuels are being depleted and to minimize environmental pollution, renewable energy is the solution widely used by many countries in the world. Therefore, renewable energy has a significant role in maintaining the sustainability of world economy. Renewable energy sources such as solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy can supply clean and nature-sourced energy to replace fossil fuels. Encouraging development of renewables is a general trend in the world today, which is also a common goal of COP21 commitment on global GHG reduction. The objective of this study is to assess the opportunities and challenges for renewable energy development in Vietnam, particularly for solar power. This study also discusses policies to promote the development of solar energy in Vietnam. While solar power provides ecological, economic and social benefits, it is exploited very modestly in Vietnam, where there are many barriers to slow down the development of renewable energy.

  • Considering the impact of buildings beyond their outline to our environment is the first step towards sustainable architecture. As we are still in the early days of sustainable design and its technology, we should make predictions about the design options. architecture activities in project is needed to predict more locally, nationally, globally not only present but future energy demand. The role of the architects who pioneered sustainable design is significantly important, that is to say architects should become a team leader rather than the sole form-giver and come up with the integrated idea related to each field such as the structural, mechanical and electrical engineers includes an energy specialist, in some cases, an independent Design Facilitator. In other words architects have to suggest goals and alternatives for human-being and biodiversity to sustainable life as well as vision of architecture.

중국 당(唐)나라 여성 전통 복식 특성을 활용한 디지털 패션디자인 (Development of Digital Fashion Design Utilizing the Characteristics of Women's Traditional Costumes in the Tang Dynasty of China)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a modern use of traditional culture by developing creative fashion designs that combine modern and traditional styles based on an analysis of traditional costumes of women in the Tang Dynasty of China. The characteristics of the Tang Dynasty women's costume are as follows. The Tang Dynasty women's costume consists of a short coat (衫, Shan), skirt (裙, Qun), half-arm shawl (半臂, Banbi), and short embroidered cape (帔, Pei). The colors are succinct and elegant, commonly red, yellow, green and navy blue in its entirety. It may be classified by pattern that blend plant patterns, animal patterns, geometric patterns, and two or more mixed patterns. On the basis of the characteristics for traditional women's costume during the Tang Dynasty, the CLO 3D program is employed to develop digital fashion design for four pairs of 3D digital clothing and the production of two pairs of work product. The results are as follows. First, the development of fashion design reflecting the design characteristics of traditional women's clothing in the Tang Dynasty of China could be expressed as fashion design reflecting unique values while connecting tradition and modernity. Second, the 3D virtual clothing program displays an extremely important effect in design deployment and pattern arrangement by having efficiency and convenience in clothing production. The CLO 3D program is closely combined with the 2D design and 3D effect and heightened efficiency while being appropriate to realize sustainability while saving processing time and energy for the sample products. Third, the production of an actual product by facilitating the 3D virtual clothing design may lead to time savings and an effective economy and may allow for the comparison of digital fashion design and actual products as well as confirming the effects of digital fashion design.
