In the assessment of patency of a small vessel anastomosis, micro-arteriography using dental X-ray and film was used as a method of testing the patency of arterial anastomoses in the rat. Micro-arteriography could lead to an objective evaluation of the patency in End-to-End and End-to Side anastomoses. The method used in this study is easily accessible for Oral and Maxillo-facial surgeon to practice the microvascular anastomosis, and requires materials available in every dental clinic.

Although Behcet`s disease, characterized by oro-genital ulceration and ocular abnormalities, is rare and unfamiliar disease to thoracic surgeon, one must remember that it can cause serious complications on the vascular system such as thrombophlebitis,thrombotic obstuction and aneurysm.We report a case of multiple arterial aneurysms with Behcet`s disease. This 31 year-old female had five times surgical interventions during short period[19 months]. 6 aneurysms were developed in this case, 3 were spontaneous aneurysms, 2 were anastomotic aneurysms and 1 was false aneurysm due to arterial puncture.

Hamartoma has been considered rare disease as a congenital malformation of a tumorous lesion since the original description by Albrecht in 1904. Pulmonary hamartoma is interesting to chest surgeon because of good result by surgical procedures and of slightly high incidence then another organs. It is characterized as lesion of very slow growing mass as peak incidence of age of 50 years age group and as sex ratio is 2:1. Especially endobronchial hamartoma is rarer than peripheral type. We had experienced a case of endobronchial hamartoma who has 53 years old male patient at right main bronchus and then treated by excision of tumor mass through right bronchotomy and preserving right lung except any lobectomy and pneumonectomy.

1950년대 이후 구미 각국에서 수집된 대부분의 독성학적, 역학적 연구조사자료에 따르면 흡연과 관련한 발병률 및 사망률의 주요 원인이 흡연 당사자의 직접흡연에 의한 것으로 보고되어 왔다. .그러나 최근 들어 담배연기에 대한 비흡연자의 비자의적인 노출 즉, 환경담배연기(Environmental Tobacco Smoke, 이하 ETS)로 인한 보건학적 위해성에 대한 논란이 제기되면서 간접흡연은 새로운 사회문제로 대두되고 있다(Repace, 1980; Surgeon General, 1986).(중략)

The treatment of open, traumatic intraarticular injuries to the metatarsophalangeal joint with severe articular comminution and cartilage defect of metatarsal head is a challenge to the foot surgeon. We report the joint reconstruction treating the injured joint by autogenic costal osteochondral graft with satisfactory outcome.

Nasal septoplasty is often required to correct a cosmetic deformity, which is a common reason for patients to present to a plastic surgeon. If nasal septoplasty is insufficient, a residual deformity or nasal obstruction may remain after surgery. Even if the nasal septum is corrected to an appropriate position, nasal congestion could be exacerbated if the turbinate on the other side is not also corrected. Therefore, appropriate treatment is required based on the condition of the turbinates. Herein, we survey recent trends in treatment and review previous research papers on turbinoplasty procedures that can be performed alongside nasal septoplasty.

Jehovah`s Witnesses who require cardiac operations represent a challenge to surgeon because of the patients` refusal to accept blood transfusion, We report a 6 year period, ending May, 1991 with a consecutive series of 25 Jehovah`s witnesses. Patients ranged in age from 11 months to 61 years. All operations were performed during cardiopulmonary bypass with bloodless priming, No patient received any blood or blood products during hospitalization. Perioperative mortality was 2 paients[8%]. We conclude that if we performed the cardiac surgery with careful operative technique and various blood conserving procedures, we can do the bloodless open heart surgery with relatively safety.

Septal myectomy is the gold-standard treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. However, it involves the risk of incomplete resection of septal muscles or iatrogenic septal perforation depending on the surgeon's practice. Herein, we suggest a few tips for successful septal myectomy and present a relevant case.
