In this study, we examine future changes in surface radiation associated with cloud amount and aerosol emission over East Asia. Data in this study is HadGEM2-CC (Hadley Centre Global Environmental Model version 2, Carbon Cycle) simulations of the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs) 2.6/4.5/8.5. Results show that temperature and precipitation increase with rising of the atmosphere $CO_2$. At the end of $21^{st}$ century (2070~2099) relative to the end of $20^{st}$ century (1981~2005), changes in temperature and precipitation rate are expected to increase by $+1.85^{\circ}C/+6.6%$ for RCP2.6, $+3.09^{\circ}C/+8.5%$ for RCP4.5, $+5.49^{\circ}C/10%$ for RCP8.5. The warming results from increasing Net Down Surface Long Wave Radiation Flux (LW) and Net Down Surface Short Wave Radiation Flux (SW) as well. SW change increases mainly from reduced total Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) and low-level cloud amount. LW change is associated with increasing of atmospheric $CO_2$ and total cloud amount, since increasing cloud amounts are related to absorb LW radiation and remit the energy toward the surface. The enhancement of precipitation is attributed by increasing of high-level cloud amount. Such climate conditions are favorable for vegetation growth and extension. Expansion of C3 grass and shrub is distinct over East Asia, inducing large latent heat flux increment.
The Alcyon Co-60 gamma rays was studied for electron contamination. The surface dose, attributable almost entirely to contamination electrons, has a linear dependence on field width for square fields and an inverse square dependence on distance from the bottom of the fixed head assembly Build-up and surface dose measurements were taken with and without an acrylic blocking tray in place. Further measurements were made with a copper filter designed to reduce secondary electrons emitted by photon interactions with the acrylic tray. The results are discussed in relation to skin sparing effect for radiation therapy Patients. And to achieve the maximum skin sparing effect, the selection of the optimum SSD and TSD is needed.
Mercury exchange fluxes between atmosphere and soil surface were measured in two different types of soils; lawn soil (LS) and forest soil (FS). Average Hg emission from LS was higher than from FS although the soil Hg content was more than 2 times higher in forest soil. In LS, Hg emissions were much greater in warm season than in cold season; however, deposition was dominant in FS during warm season because of leafy trees blocking the solar radiation reaching on the soil surface. In both LS and FS, Hg fluxes showed significantly positive correlations with UV radiation and soil surface temperature during cold season. In addition, it was observed that emission showed positive correlation with UV radiation and soil temperature while there was negative relationship between deposition and UV radiation.

The cryostat or dewar have been widely used for making and maintaining cryogenic and vacuum environments. The thermal performances of such cryogenic vacuum system mainly depend on the radiation heat transfer between hot and cold surface The characteristics of radiation heat transfer are complicated, because amounts of heat transfer depend on view factor, emissivities, and areas of thermal elements. In this study, the analysis of the radiation heat transfer in the small cryogenic vacuum system was performed using the surface to surface radiation model for evaluation of the required cooling capacity of the cryocooler.

The radiation impedance of a magnetostatic surface wave excited in a microstrip line haying ferrite film and its dependence on the width of the microstrip line and the height of the ferrite film are calculated by the full-wave moment analysis. The radiation resistance calculated by the full-wave analysis closely agrees with the measured radiation resistance, while that by the magnetostatic approximation greatly differs from the measured result in the higher-frequency region.

The solar radiation is the primary energy source that drives many of the earth's physical and biological processes and climate change. Understanding its importance to the solar radiation observation is a key to understanding a broad range of natural processes, agricultural, energy and human activities. The purpose of this study is to estimate solar radiation using sunshine duration, and to estimate distribution of solar radiation using a topography factor considering surface slope and aspect in complex terrain. The result of regression analysis between ratio of solar radiation and sunshine duration from 2001 to 2010 shows high $R^2$ value of 0.878. Regression analyses indicated that topographic attributes including elevation, slope and aspect had significant effects on solar radiation. The variation of topographic factor with aspect and slope for the summer and winter are considered. The highest month of daily mean solar radiation at Jeju island appears in April of 20.61 $MJ{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}day^{-1}$, and the lowest month appears in December of 6.90 $MJ{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}day^{-1}$. These results provided useful quantitative information about the influence of topography on solar radiation in the island region.

Radiation heat transfer was calculated for initial stage of crystal growth in Czochralski crystal growth system. View factors among surface elements were calculated for the estimation of heat evolution and all the surfaces were assumed to be diffuse-gray. The values of view factors were greatly different along the position of surface elements. The dissipated amounts of heat flux from the melt surface were 3.6 times larger than those from the crystal surface at the initial stage of crystal growth and this amounts were greater when the surface elements were not considered. The trijunction part of the crystal was greatly affected by the melt surface near the crystal. Consequently radiation heat transfer between surface elements must be considered in order to correctly simulate the initial crystal growth.

This paper is aimed at the development of a software that predicts the surface temperature profiles of three-dimensional objects on the ground by considering the spectral solar radiation through the atmosphere. The spectral solar radiation through the atmosphere is modeled by using the well-known LOWTRAN7 code which analyzes the detailed spectral transmission characteristics by considering the atmospheric gas layers. In this paper, the transient temperature distribution over a cylinder is calculated by using the semi-implicit method. The spectral radiative surface properties such as the absorptivity and emissivity of the objects are used to model the effects of the solar irradiation and the surface emission. Both the detailed spectral modeling and the simple total modeling for the solar radiation absorption show fairly good agreement with each other by showing less than 3% difference in surface temperature.
Cutaneous angiosarcomas are uncommon malignancies which account about 1$\%$ of sarcomas. They are found most commonly in the head and neck regions, frequently on the scalp. Although preferred treatment has been combined surgery and postoperative radiation therapy, the extensiveness and multiplicity of the lesions set limits to such an approach and the patient is often referred for radiotherapy without surgery. As the entire scalp usually needs to be treated, radiation therapy is a challenging problem to radiation oncology staffs. We report a case of angiosarcoma of the scalp, which was treated successfully by radiation therapy with a simple and repeatable method using mixed Photon and electron beam technique. Using a bolus to increase the surface dose of the scalp and to minimize dose to the normal tissues of the brain desirable but difficult technically to be well conformed to the three dimensional curved surface such as vertex of the head. A helmet made of thermoplastics filled with paraffin was elaborated and used for the treatment, resulting of the relatively uniform surface doses along the several points measured on the scalp, the difference among the points not exceeding 7$\%$ of the prescribed dose by TLD readings.
Both angiography and interventional procedures accompanied by angiography provide many diagnostic and therapeutic benefits to patients and are rapidly increasing. However, unlike general radiography or computed tomography using the same X-ray, the amount of radiation is quite high, but the dose range can vary considerably for each patient and operator. The high sensitivity of the lens to radiation during cerebral angiography and neurointervention is already well known, and although there are many related studies, it is insufficient to easily reduce radiation in diagnosis and treatment. In this situation, in particular, by adding three-dimensional rotational angiography (3D-RA) to the existing two-dimensional (2D) angiography, it is now possible to make an accurate diagnosis. However, since this 3D-RA acquires images through projection of more radiation than before, the exposure dose of the lens may be higher. Therefore, we tried to analyze whether the radiation dose of the lens can be reduced by moving the lens out of the field range by adjusting the table height and magnification ratio during the examination using 3D-RA. The surface dose was measured using a rando phantom and a radiophotoluminescent glass dosimeter (PLD) and the radiation dose was compared by adjusting the table height and magnification ratio based on the central point. As a result, it was found that the radiation dose of the lens decreased as the table height increased from the central point, that is, as the lens was out of the field of view. In conclusion, in 3D-RA, moving the table position of about 2 cm in height will make a significant contribution to the dose reduction of the lens, and it was confirmed that adjusting the magnification ratio can also reduce the surface dose of the lens.
