Potassium formate, Glycine, Oxalic acid가 황화물계 3가 크롬도금층의 조성과 전류효율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Potassium Formate, Glycine and Oxalic Acid in Sulfate Bath on Trivalent Chromium Deposition Composition and Current Efficiency)

  • Effect of potassium formate, glycine and oxalic acid in a sulfate solution on the deposit composition and current efficiency of trivalent chromium plating was studied. The trivalent chromium layers prepared by solutions with potassium formate, glycine and oxalic acid contain a few carbon inside. The solutions containing potassium formate, glycine and oxalic acid are relatively stable with pH change. The solution with the potassium formate shows 6-30% current efficiency with current density, whereas, the solutions with oxalic acid and glycine show about 5% current efficiency, respectively. The improved current efficiency is related to enough supply of chromium ions to the electrode due to the increase of pH at the front of electrode.

5083-H321 알루미늄 합금의 해수 내 전류밀도의 변화에 따른 전식 특성 연구 (Investigation on Electrolytic Corrosion Characteristics with the Variation of Current Density of 5083-H321 Aluminum Alloy in Seawater)

  • Electrolytic corrosion of the ship's hull can be occurred due to stray current during welding work using shore power and electrical leakage using shore power supply. The electrolytic corrosion characteristics were investigated for Al5083-H321 through potentiodynamic polarization and galvanostatic corrosion test in natural seawater. Experiments of electrolytic corrosion were tested at various current densities ranging from $0.01mA/cm^2$ to $10mA/cm^2$ for 30 minutes, and at various applied time ranging from 60 to 240 minutes. Evaluation of electrolytic corrosion was carried out by Tafel extrapolation, weight loss, surface analysis after the experiment. In the electrolytic corrosion characteristics of Al5083-H321 as the current density increased, the surface damage tended to proportionally increase. In the current density of $0.01mA/cm^2$ for a applied long time, the damage tended to grow on the surface. In the case of $10mA/cm^2$ current density for a applied long time, the damage progressed to the depth direction of the surface, and the amount of weight loss per hour increased to 4 mg/hr.

  • The detection mechanism of the flaw for the nondestructive testing using eddy current is related to the interaction of the induced eddy currents in the test specimen with flaws and the coupling of these interaction effects with the moving test probe. In this study, the two-dimensional electromagnetic finite element analysis(FEM) fur the eddy current signals of the aluminum plate with different depth of surface cracks is described and the comparison is also made between experimental and predicted signals analyzed by FEM. In addition, the characteristics of attenuation of the eddy current density due to the variation of the depth of a conductor are evaluated. The effective parameters for the application of eddy current technique to evaluate surface cracks are discussed by analyzing the characteristics of the eddy current signals due to the variation of crack depths.

  • For investigation of surface leakage currrent of AlGaN/GaN heterostructures through etched GaN buffer surface and mesa wall, three kind of surface-leakage-test-patterns were fabricated. and we measured the surface leakage current of each patterns. In result of our work, the surface leakage current of pattern of which Schottky contact is formed on etched mesa wall is the largest. the leakage current through schottky contact on etched mesa wall is predominant in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures.

  • This work aims to present a theoretical analysis of the electric and magnetic surface current densities of a circular microstrip antenna (CMSA) as a body of revolution. The rigorous analysis of these problems begins with the application of the equivalence principle, which introduces an unknown electric current density on the conducting surface and both unknown equivalent electric and magnetic surface current densities on the dielectric surface. These current densities satisfy the integral equations (IEs) obtained by canceling the tangential components of the electric field on the conducting surface and enforcing the continuity of the tangential components of the fields across the dielectric surface. The formulation of the radiation problems is based on the combined field integral equation. This formulation is coupled with the method of moments (MoMs) as a numerical solution for this equation. The numerical results of the electric and magnetic surface current densities on the outside boundary of a CMSA excited by $TM_{11^-}$ and $TM_{21^-}$ modes are presented. The radiation pattern is calculated numerically in the two principle planes for a CMSA and gives a good results compared with measured results published by other research workers.

고속도금된 3가 크롬도금의 전류효율 및 조직특성에 미치는 첨가제의 영향 (The Effect of Additives on the Current Efficiency and the Microstructure of Trivalent Cr Electrodeposits Plated in Flow Cell System)

  • The current efficiency and the microstructure of the trivalent Cr deposits plated in flow cell system were investigated according to additives in sulfate bath and current density. The current efficiency of the deposits plated in the formic acid complexed bath was noticeably higher than that of the deposits from glycine complexed bath. The current efficiency of the deposits from the complexed baths with boric acid buffer increased linearly with current density in the range of 60-100 A/dm$^2$, while that of the deposits from the baths with both Al sulfate and mixed buffers increased parabolically with current density. The nodular crystallite size of the deposits increased with current density, and the deposits plated in low current density region had relatively smooth surface appearance with fine grains. The structure of the deposits from the complexed baths with boric acid buffer changed from amorphous structure to crystalline one with strong (110)peak with increasing current density. The deposits from the baths with both Al sulfate and mixed buffers had generally amorphous structure.

  • Ocean surface currents have an essential role in the Earth's climate system and significantly impact the marine ecosystem, weather patterns, and human activities. However, predicting ocean surface currents remains challenging due to the complexity and variability of the oceanic processes involved. This review article provides an overview of the current research status, challenges, and opportunities in the prediction of ocean surface currents. We discuss the various observational and modelling approaches used to study ocean surface currents, including satellite remote sensing, in situ measurements, and numerical models. We also highlight the major challenges facing the prediction of ocean surface currents, such as data assimilation, model-observation integration, and the representation of sub-grid scale processes. In this article, we suggest that future research should focus on developing advanced modeling techniques, such as machine learning, and the integration of multiple observational platforms to improve the accuracy and skill of ocean surface current predictions. We also emphasize the need to address the limitations of observing instruments, such as delays in receiving data, versioning errors, missing data, and undocumented data processing techniques. Improving data availability and quality will be essential for enhancing the accuracy of predictions. The future research should focus on developing methods for effective bias correction, a series of data preprocessing procedures, and utilizing combined models and xAI models to incorporate data from various sources. Advancements in predicting ocean surface currents will benefit various applications such as maritime operations, climate studies, and ecosystem management.

EPDM 고분자 애자에 대한 표면방전 및 누설전류파형의 고조파분석 (Harmonics Analysis of Leakage Current Waveforms and Surface Discharge for EPDM Polymer Insulator)

  • This paper presents the results of spectrum analysis of leakage current waveforms on contaminated polymer insulators under fog conditions. This is a basic study on development of a monitoring for aging degree and surface pollution state using distortion rate(%) of 3rd and 5th harmonics according fundamental frequency[60Hz] under environment conditions. Arcing on the surface was always associated with distortion in the leakage current ; hence the low frequency components of the leakage current can be used as a means to evaluate the surface degradation. The results indicate that the distortion rate by spectrum analysis is available for the monitoring of contamination condition of EPDM Polymer insulators.

온도측정에 의한 산화아연형 피뢰기 진단 (ZnO Arrester Diagnosis by Measurement of Temperature)

  • In this paper, surface temperatures of ZnO arresters as a function of ambient temperatures and leakage currents were experimentally investigated. The variations of the leakage current was below 10 uA, which comes about $4.5\%$ of the normal leakage current. Temperature differences between the ambient and the surface of arresters were not shown until $150\%$ to the normal leakage current, and were remarkable over $200\%$. From the results, we deduced a couple of polynomials which enables the calculation of the leakage current by the measurement of surface temperature. Tests on used arresters have shown the same results as the experimental one. Also, we expect that an arrester diagnosis is possible by measuring the surface temperature of them after more studies on the effect of wind, moisture penetration, and arrester types.

1991년부터 2017년까지 표층 뜰개 자료를 이용하여 계산한 동해의 평균 표층 해류와 해류 변동성 (Estimation of Mean Surface Current and Current Variability in the East Sea using Surface Drifter Data from 1991 to 2017)

  • 동해의 평균 표층 순환과 표층 해류의 변동성을 이해하기 위하여 1991년부터 2017년까지 동해를 지나간 표층 뜰개들의 궤적을 분석하였다. 표층 뜰개 자료를 분석하여 동해 표층 해류들을 그 주경로 별로 분류하고, 이들 해류의 변동을 조사하였다. 동한난류는 한국 동해안을 따라 북쪽으로 흐르며 $36{\sim}38^{\circ}N$에서 이안한 후 동해 중앙($131{\sim}137^{\circ}E$)에서 동쪽으로 흐른다. 이때 해류 경로의 평균 위도는 $36{\sim}40^{\circ}N$의 범위를 가지며, 남북으로 큰 진폭을 갖고 사행한다. 표층 뜰개 경로의 평균 위도가 $37.5^{\circ}N$ 이남(이북)일 때 사행진폭이 상대적으로 크며(작으며) 진폭은 약 100 (50) km이다. 동해 중앙에서 표층 뜰개들은 $37.5{\sim}38.5^{\circ}N$를 따라 동쪽으로 흐르는 경로를 가장 빈번하게 지나간다. 동해 북부 블라디보스토크 연안에 투하된 표층 뜰개들은 연안을 따라 남서쪽으로 이동하다가 일본분지 서쪽에서 반시계방향 순환을 따라 남동쪽으로 이동한 후 $39{\sim}40^{\circ}N$에서 동쪽으로 사행하여 이동한다. 다음으로 동해를 $0.25^{\circ}$ 간격으로 격자를 나누어 각 격자를 통과하는 표층 뜰개들의 이동 속도 벡터 자료로 동해 평균 표층 해류 벡터장과 속력장을 구하였다. 그리고 $0.5^{\circ}$ 격자 간격으로 해류장의 분산타원을 계산하였다. 울릉분지 서쪽에서는 동한난류의 경로가 매년 변화하고, 야마토분지에서는 해류의 사행과 소용돌이가 많아 해류의 변동성(분산)이 크다. 표층 뜰개의 주 이동 경로, 평균 해류 벡터장, 분산을 모두 반영하여 표층 뜰개 자료에 근거한 동해 표층 해류 모식도를 제시하였다. 이 연구는 그동안 인공위성 고도계 자료를 이용하여 구한 표층 지형류와 해양수치모델로 모의한 해류를 중심으로 연구해 왔던 동해 표층 순환을 라그랑지 관측 자료를 통해 정리했다는 데 의의가 있다.
