Al5083 PCD 선삭가공에서 회귀분석에 의한 표면거칠기 예측 (A Prediction of Surface Roughness on the PCD Tool Turned Al5083 by using Regression Analysis)

  • Surface roughness is widely used as an index for processing degree of accuracy. Recently, regression analysis to predict the machining results are actively used to characterize a cutting operations. In the past, diamond machining had been used for ultra precision cutting operation, but now industrial diamond tools like PCD(Polycrystalline Diamond) have been widely used in ultraprecision machining of nonferrous metals. In this study, the authors focus on the effect of PCD tool property on the surface roughness of Al5083 aluminum alloy after cutting process by CNC operated lathe. Based on the regression analysis approach on a surface roughness data obtained by experiment, predictive analysis of surface roughness is effective to achieve better surface quality.

선삭공정의 각도변화가 표면거칠기에 미치는 영향에 관한 기초 연구 (A Basic Study on the Surface Roughness in Turning Process Considering Taper Angle Variation)

  • In machining operation, the quality of surface finish is an important factor for many turned products. In this paper, surface quality in turning machining considering angle variation has been investigated. To reach this goal, surface quality turning experiments are carried out according to cutting conditions with angle variation. The variable cutting conditions are cutting speed, feed rate and taper angle of workpiece. The surface roughness was measured and the effects of cutting conditions were analyzed by the method of analysis of variance (ANOVA). From the experimental results and ANOVA, it is found that a better surface roughness can be obtained as decreasing feed rate, increasing cutting speed. Taper angle variation has been more influenced by feed rate and cutting speed.

대면적 공작물의 기하학적 Waviness 측정 (Waviness measurement of workpiece with a Large Surface Area)

  • A workpiece with a large surface area is likely to be uneven due to form error and waviness. These geometric disturbances can cause inaccurate micro shapes to be formed when micro features are micro-grooved into the surface and cause the resulting workpiece to fail to function as desired. Thus, real-time measurement and compensation is required to guarantee the form accuracy of micro features while machining a workpiece with a large surface area. In this study, a method is suggested for real-time measurement of geometric error for the micro grooving of a large flat surface using a laser displacement sensor. The measurements are demonstrated for the workpieces with large surface areas and the experimental results show that the waviness and form error are well detected.

Comparison the Mapping Accuracy of Construction Sites Using UAVs with Low-Cost Cameras

  • The advent of a fourth industrial revolution, built on advances in digital technology, has coincided with studies using various unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being performed worldwide. However, the accuracy of different sensors and their suitability for particular research studies are factors that need to be carefully evaluated. In this study, we evaluated UAV photogrammetry using smart technology. To assess the performance of digital photogrammetry, the accuracy of common procedures for generating orthomosaic images and digital surface models (DSMs) using terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) techniques was measured. Two different type of non-surveying camera(Smartphone camera, fisheye camera) were attached to UAV platform. For fisheye camera, lens distortion was corrected by considering characteristics of lens. Accuracy of orthoimage and DSM generated were comparatively analyzed using aerial and TLS data. Accuracy comparison analysis proceeded as follows. First, we used Ortho mosaic image to compare the check point with a certain area. In addition, vertical errors of camera DSM were compared and analyzed based on TLS. In this study, we propose and evaluate the feasibility of UAV photogrammetry which can acquire 3 - D spatial information at low cost in a construction site.

Comparison of accuracy between digital and conventional implant impressions: two and three dimensional evaluations

  • PURPOSE. The present study compared the accuracy between digital and conventional implant impressions. MATERIALS AND METHODS. The experimental models were divided into six groups depending on the implant location and the scanning span. Digital impressions were captured using the intraoral optical scanner TRIOS (3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark). Conventional impressions were taken with the monophase impression material based on addition-cured silicones, Honigum-Mono (DMG, Hamburg, Germany). A high-precision laboratory scanner D900 (3Shape, Copenhagen, Denmark) was used to obtain digital data of resin models and stone casts. Surface tessellation language (STL) datasets from scanner were imported into the analysis software Geomagic Qualify 14 (3D Systems, Rock Hill, SC, USA), and scan body deviations were determined through two-dimensional and three-dimensional analyses. Each scan body was measured five times. The Sidak t test was used to analyze the experimental data. RESULTS. Implant position and scanning distance affected the impression accuracy. For a unilateral arch implant and the mandible models with two implants, no significant difference was observed in the accuracy between the digital and conventional implant impressions on scan bodies; however, the corresponding differences for trans-arch implants and mandible with six implants were extremely significant (P<.001). CONCLUSION. For short-span scanning, the accuracy of digital and conventional implant impressions did not differ significantly. For long-span scanning, the precision of digital impressions was significantly inferior to that of the traditional impressions.

  • High-speed machining is one of the most effective technology to improve productivity. Because of the high speed and hugh fried rate, high-speed machining can alive great advantages for the machining of dies and molds. This paper describes on the improvement of machining accuracy in high-speed machining. Depth of cut, feed rate and spindle revolution are control factors. The effect of the control factors on machining accuracy is discussed fur the results of surface roughness and machining error in Z-direction of the high speed machining.

  • The demand of high speed machining is increasing because the high speed cutting providers high efficiency of process, short process time, improved metal removal capacity and better surface finish. Active magnetic bearings allow much high surface speed than conventional ball bearings and therefore greatly suitable for high speed cutting. The automatic control concept of magnetic bearing system provides ability of intelligent control of spindle system to increase accuracy and flexibility by means of adaptive vibration control. This paper describes a design and development of a milling spindle system which includes built-in motor with power 5.5㎾ and maximum speed 70,000rpm, HSK-32C tool holer and active magnetic bearing system. Magnetic actuators are designed for satisfying static load condition. The Performances of manufactured spindle system was examined for its static and dynamic stiffness, load capacity, and rotational accuracy. This spindle was run up to 70,000 rpm stably, which is 3.5 million DmN.

기능성 시제품 생산용 쾌속조형공정의 성능비교시험 (Bench Mark Test on Rapid Prototyping Processes and Machines for Functional Prototypes)

  • FDM, SLS, and EOS processes are the layered manufacturing processes far functional prototypes. In this paper, bench mark tests of those processes were carried out using various materials. The test includes mechanical properties, such as tensile and compressive strengths, hardness, impact strength, and heat resistance, and surface roughness, shape and dimensional accuracy, manufacturing time, and manufacturing costs. It is verified that SLS method is advantageous in surface roughness and manufacturing time, EOS method in shape accuracy, and FDM method is great in manufacturing costs.

  • The quality of products is depend on the performance of machine and machining conditions. In this study the runout of spindel is selected as a parameter through which we could appreciate the workability of machine and the quality of products. Throigh the runout of high speed machining center on freeload machining, the revolution accuracy and the characteristics in connection with spindle speed are evaluated. It was experimented flat and ball end milling for estimating machine accuracy and workability by measuring spindel runout. In end, This paper shows the effects of runout on surface roughness through analysis of runout and roughness profiles.

  • 곡률을 .가진 산란체의 전자파 해석에 유용한 선조합 모델링 기법을 제안한다. 곡률을 가진 2차원 타원형 실린더를 기준으로 곡률 정보가 포함된 선전류에 의해 선조합 모델링한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 선조합 모델링 기법의 우수성은 도체 내부 전계의 크기로 확인하였고, 수치 해석 곁과 기존의 동일 반지름에 의한 방법보다 본 방법은 선전류의 개수를 줄일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 모멘트법 해의 정확성을 높일 수 있다.
