We consider a queueing system fed by a superposition of multiple discrete autoregressive processes of order 1, and propose an approximation method to estimate the overflow probability of the system. Numerical examples are provided to validate the proposed method.

A particular optical receiver has its own optical receiver modes (ORMs) determined by its optical and electrical filters. Superposing the ORM waveforms at the transmitter, we can generate a new type of optical signals, called ORM signals. After optical detection, they produce pre-specified voltage waveforms accurately, which is advantageous for digital signal processing. Assuming a Gaussian optical receiver, where the optical and electrical filters are Gaussian, we illustrate various phase-shift keying ORM signals using two ORMs by changing their relative phase. We also illustrate multi-level ORM signal patterns using two or more ORMs.

본 논문에서는 바다의 자유표면에서 생성되는 항력에 대한 물리적 특성에 대한 연구가 기술되었다. 2차원 파장(Wave Field) 매개변수해석기법(Parametric Analyzing Technique)을 근거로 한 파경계층(Wave Boundary Layer : WBL)의 1차원 모델로서 항력계산과 파경계층의 특성을 추정하였으며 이론의 간략화(Simplifying)에 대한 연구에 주력하였다.

The modal analysis based on deformations is the method to drived dynamic responsed from superposition of natural frequency and mode shape. In order to free vibration analysis of the structures, Aluminum-made model is used in experiment. The dynamic characteristic of the structures are determined from acceleration measurements using impulse hammer. Experimenrt input and output signal are derive from impact hammer and the one accerometer. This paper present three methods for calculating the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the structure with theory value and finite element analysis, experiment. The results were good approximated about natural frequency and mode shape.

A mathematical model is developed to predict the fatigue notch factor of butt welds subject to number of parameters such as weld geometry, residual stresses under dynamic combined loading conditions (tensile and bending). Linear elastic fracture mechanics, finite element analysis, dimensional analysis and superposition approaches are used for the modelling. The predicted results are in good agreement with the available experimental data. As a result, scatters of the fatigue data can be significantly reduced by plotting S-N curve as ($S{\cdot}K_f$) vs. N.

An experimental investigation on the energy absorption of two staged combined structures is presented, which deals with the plastic collapse test as a series of research on soft bow structure involved in a ship collision. The principle of arithmetic superposition of energy absorption is derived upon experimental analysis and based upon the characteristics of the energy absorptions of component structures. This relationship is related to the further approach toward the design of soft bow.

Deformability of RC members in shear after flexural yielding is limited and controlled by governing failure modes and material strength. Shear strength of members in D-regions has been explained by a direct load path (direct strut or arch action) and indirect load path (fan action or truss action). Indirect load path including truss action and fan action rely on bond along tension ties. Generally, superposition of two actions results in total shear strength when shear failure modes control. The ultimate deformation depends on controlling failure modes and thereby, their force transfer patterns. Proposed models are capable of explaining of limited deformability of RC members in D-regions.

This Paper presents a method for unfinished work transition probability distribution of modulated $n^*D/D/l$ queue with overload period. The Modulated $n^*D/D/l$ queue is well known as a performance analysis model of ATM multiplexer with superposition of homogeneous periodic on-off traffic sources. Theory of probability by conditioning and results of $N^*D/D/l$ queue are used for analytic methodology. The results from this paper are expected to be applied to general modulated $n^*D/D/l$ queue.

This paper descibes a method for the state estimation in power systems with interconnected AC/DC system. The state values in interconnected AC/DC system are estimated using measurement values with the pseudo measurement so that the number of telemetering measurement can be reduced. Especially, the state values in AC system are estimated through hierarchical method after system decomposition including superposition bus was formed for the state estimation in large-scale power systems. The results of the application to the two model power systems show the dffectiveness of the presented algorithms.
