The Implications of Changes in Learning of East Coast Gut Successors (동해안굿 전승자 학습 변화의 의미)

  • East Coast Gut, Korean shamanism ritual on its east coastal area, is a Gut held in fishing villages alongside Korean east coastal area from Goseong area in Gangwon-Do to Busan area. East Coast Gut is performed in a series mainly by a successor shaman, Korean shaman, who hasn't received any spiritual power from a God, and the implications of this thesis lie in that we look over the learning aspects of Seokchool Kim shaman group among other East Coast Gut successor shaman groups after dividing it into 2 categories, successor shaman and learner shaman and based upon this, we reveal the meaning of the learning aspects of East Coast Gut. For successor shamans, home means the field of education. Since they are little, they chased Gut events performing dance in a series to accumulate onsite experiences. However, in the families of successor shamans that have passed their shaman work down from generation to generation, their descendents didn't inherit shaman work any longer, which changed the way of succession and learning of shaman work. Since 1980's, Gut has been officially acknowledged as a kind of general art embracing songs, dance and music and designated as a cultural asset of the state and each city and province, and at art universities, it was adopted as a required course for its related major, which caused new learner shamans who majored in shamanism to emerge. These learner shamans are taking systematical succession lessons on the performance skills of East Coast Byeolshin Gut at universities, East Coast Byeolshin Gut preservation community, any places where Guts are held and etc.. As changes along time, the successor shamans accepted the learner shamans to pass shaman work down and changes appeared in the notion of towners who accept the performer groups of Gut and Gut itself. Unlike the past, as Gut has been acknowledged as the origin of Korean traditional arts and as the product of compresensive learning on songs, dance and music and it was designated as a national intangible cultural asset, shaman's social status and personal pride and dignity has become very high. As shaman has become positioned as the traditional artist getting both national and international recognition unlike its past image of getting despised, at the site of Gut event or even in the relation with towners, their status and the treatment they get became far different. Even towners, along with shift in shaman groups' generation, take position to acknowledge and accept the addition of new learning elements unlike the past. Even in every town, rather than just insisting on the type or the event purpose of traditional Gut, they think over on the type of festival and the main direction of a variety of Guts with which all of towners can mingle with each other. They are trying to find new meanings in the trend of changing Gut and the adaptation of new generation to this. In our reality of Gut events getting minimalized along with rapid change of times, East Coast Gut is still very actively performed in a series until now compared to Guts in other regions. This is because following the successor shamans who have struggled to preserve the East Coast Gut, the learner shamans are actively inflowing and the series performance groups preserve the origin of Gut and try hard to use Gut as art contents. Besides, the learner shamans systematically organize what they learned on shamanism from the successor shamans and get prepared and try to hand it down to descendents in the closest possible way to preserve its origin. In the future, East Coast Gut will be succeeded by the learner shamans from the last successor shamans to inherit its tradition and develop it to adapt to the times.

A Study on the Successor-Cultivation in Fisheries Management (어업경영에 있어서의 후계자양성에 관한 연구)

  • Setting a Problem : Developing industrialization and urbanization has been accompanying the outflow of farming-and fisheries village's population, and brings upon lowering of number of fishermen and their productive efficiency as a result. The point of issue of such an outflow of fishermen which is a cause of the shortage of fisheries man-power should be considered through the analysis of the present state of fishery, and then 'How should the normative fisheries man-power policy be performed?' has to be thought after the investigation upon self-existable fishermen's successor-cultivation(SFSC) project which has been driven forward by government. Method of Study : In order to seek concretely a rational way to achieve SFSC undertaking successfully, the teleological method is adopted fundamentally. But the analysis on the fisheries present state centering on fisheries population and the fishery-orientedness of fishermen who are selected randomly in five islands of Jeonranamdo-Province and Kyeongsangnamdo-Province has been tried with the object of groping for a successful and purposive way of successor-cultivation. And the controversial point is brought out through the analysis of the first year's result which SFSC project has been undertaken in 1981. The above-mentioned affair is especially studied on the basic attitude which 'fishery' is a 'profession'.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine what influence the lesion and the premature loss of mandibular 1st deciduous molar have on the eruption of its successor, and the author devided 580 cases of orthopantomograms from age 3 to 9 years old children into 3 groups: Control Group: both side normal Study I Group: one normal and the other lesion. Study II Group: one normal and the other premature loss before 8 years old. and observed the amount of differences and the relative position in eruption between study-tooth successor and normal-tooth successor, The following results were obtained: 1. The differences in eruption between right and left mandibular 1st primary molars of Study Group were greater than those of Control Group. 2. The successors of lesioned-teeth showed more accelerated eruption than the antimeres in 40.9% and more delayed, in 22.7%. 3. The successors of premature lost-teeth showed more accelerated eruption than the antimeres in 61.7% and more delayed, in 4.3%.

A Study on the Condition of Family Management Convention and its Intention to Sign it (가족경영협약 실태분석과 체결의향 분석)

  • This paper analyzed the necessity of family management agreement in management succession and the intention of signing it. To this end, 139 management successors were surveyed and the factors affecting the family management agreement were analyzed. The main analysis results are as follows. Firstly, Priority in the management agreement system was the highest participation in decision-making with 34.5 percent, or 19 people, followed by the sharing of management roles and the distribution of revenues and expenses with 27.3 percent, respectively. Secondly, An analysis of the difference between cohabitation with parents and the need for a family management agreement showed that 70.2 percent of successors and 51.7 percent of non-residents shared the opinion that a family management agreement is needed. Finally, according to the analysis, the lower the age of the heirs, the higher the willingness to sign the family management agreement, the more likely the successor who graduated from a related university in the agricultural industry, and the more likely the successor who is a farmer in an urban area, the more willing he is to sign the family management agreement.

  • Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries start school at 1997 and 10 for 2,066 people graduate and is becoming the help in youth agriculture and fishery manager education. But recently according to industrial functional staff institutional abolition policy of the government is forecast with the fact that will have a failure to agriculture and fishery manager education. Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries was founded for a succession agriculture and fishery manager education. When but while attending military service is under and the education which is continuous is difficult. When after college graduating the reeducation for the agriculture which goes to the military service is necessary. Also Part of the graduate can not participate to agriculture and fishery. This is consistency lack of governmental policy and there is worry which will be criticized. According to FTA agreements the damage is forecast in agriculture and Fisheries. Also prevents the instability of the food supply and which follows in global environment change, respects the stable supply of the foodstuffs which is safe from the agriculture and Fisheries support of the nation is necessary. Consequently proposed the military service substitution institutional plan for the agriculture fishery successor.

Analysis of Factors that Affect Successor Satisfaction in Family Firms

  • This study is to find effects between the level of preparation of factors and the satisfaction of successors. Independent variables are the level of preparations of successors and divided by three detailed type, the level of preparation of management ability, the level preparation of positive succession attitude and the level of preparation of ownership succession. A dependent variable is the satisfaction of successors and a moderating variable is the level of communication between successees and successors. This study was undertaken in South Korea among 59 successors in 59 family firms. A total of 53 samples were available to use for the research. The empirical results indicate that the level of preparation of successors, management ability, positive succession attitude and ownership succession, is associated to the satisfactions of successors. Additionally, the moderating variable has not the relationship to the dependent variable as a moderating variable, but the result showed a strong relationship between the level of communication and the satisfaction of successors.

  • Family businesses play a significant role in the overall economy of all countries, and the importance and weight of family businesses are increasing in various fields. Many factors are essential for a family business to grow into a long-lived business, that is, a sustainable business, but the most important one is succession. TRUST Lab at Hanyang University studied the importance of factors influencing the succession of the family business from the standpoint of the successor. As a result, it was confirmed that mutual trust is the most crucial factor, and conflict can destroy that trust. Therefore, in this study, we research conflict as a central topic for successful succession, which is the most fundamental reason for family businesses. This study was conducted as a qualitative research case study. By setting criteria suitable for the purpose of the study, we conducted interviews with ten successors who either worked or planned to work in a family-related company. Through this study, conflict management of key players is the most important to achieve a continuous succession of family businesses.

Additional Root of the Primary Maxillary Second Molar Possibly Associated with Displacement and Rotation of the Permanent Successor : Two Case Reports (상악 제2유구치의 부가치근과 함께 관찰된 영구 계승치의 변위 및 회전 : 증례 보고)

  • An additional root of the primary maxillary second molar is rarely observed. Two cases are presented herein, and we discuss a possible association between additional root of the primary maxillary second molar and displacement and rotation of the permanent successor. Investigation of crown morphology enables the detection of a potential additional root of the primary maxillary second molar, and eruption of the permanent successor needs to be examined carefully if an additional root is present. Early extraction of primary molar and space maintenance can be used as a conservative treatment if the premolar germ shows an abnormal eruption pattern.

The Effects of Human and Institutional Factors on Succession Intentions of Small and Medium Enterprises (인적 요인 및 제도적 요인이 중소기업 승계 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • As the founders of small and medium-sized businesses age, the issue of business succession becomes increasingly important. In this study, we empirically analyzed the impact of various human and institutional factors on corporate succession intentions, including the CEO's competency, the successor's competency, third-party stakeholders, and institutional factors such as legislation, taxation, and trust. We surveyed CEOs who were currently running small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and received a total of 201 valid questionnaires. We then conducted an empirical analysis using the multiple regression analysis method. Our results showed that both the CEO's competency and the successor's competency, which are human factors, had a significant positive impact on corporate succession intention. Institutional factors such as taxation and trust also had a significant positive impact on corporate succession intention. However, third-party stakeholders and legislation did not have a significant effect on corporate succession intention. Among the factors that had a significant impact, the size of the influence was in the order of successor's competency, CEO's competency, taxation, and trust. These research results have both academic and practical implications. By going beyond existing studies that focus solely on human factors, we have revealed that institutional factors such as taxation and trust have a very important impact on corporate succession.

Empirical Analysis on the Relationship between R&D Inputs and Performance Using Successive Binary Logistic Regression Models (연속적 이항 로지스틱 회귀모형을 이용한 R&D 투입 및 성과 관계에 대한 실증분석)

  • The present study analyzes the relationship between research and development (R&D) inputs and performance of a national technology innovation R&D program using successive binary Logistic regression models based on a typical R&D logic model. In particular, this study focuses on to answer the following three main questions; (1) "To what extent, do the R&D inputs have an effect on the performance creation?"; (2) "Is an obvious relationship verified between the immediate predecessor and its successor performance?"; and (3) "Is there a difference in the performance creation between R&D government subsidy recipient types and between R&D collaboration types?" Methodologically, binary Logistic regression models are established successively considering the "Success-Failure" binary data characteristic regarding the performance creation. An empirical analysis is presented analyzing the sample n = 2,178 R&D projects completed. This study's major findings are as follows. First, the R&D inputs have a statistically significant relationship only with the short-term, technical output, "Patent Registration." Second, strong dependencies are identified between the immediate predecessor and its successor performance. Third, the success probability of the performance creation is statistically significantly different between the R&D types aforementioned. Specifically, compared with "Large Company", "Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SMS)" shows a greater success probability of "Sales" and "New Employment." Meanwhile, "R&D Collaboration" achieves a larger success probability of "Patent Registration" and "Sales."
