Purpose: This study was designed to construct and test a structural equation modeling on specific domain health status and the Selection Optimization Compensation (SOC) strategy affecting successful aging in elderly people. Methods: The model construction was based on the SOC model by Baltes and Baltes. Interviews were done with 201 elderly people aged 65 or older. Interview contents included demographics, functional health status, emotional health status, social health status, SOC strategies, and successful aging. Data were analyzed using SPSS 15.0 and AMOS 7.0. Results: Model fit indices for the modified model were GFI=.93, CFI=.94, and RMSEA=.07. Three out of 7 paths were found to have a significant effect on successful aging in this final model. Functional health status had a direct and positive effect on successful aging. Emotional health status influenced successful aging through SOC strategies. Conclusion: This study suggests that interventions for improving functional health status and for strengthening SOC strategies are critical for successful aging. Continuous development of a variety of successful aging programs using SOC strategy is suggested.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify the relationships between family function and successful aging of vulnerable elderly using the circumplex model. Methods: The participants were the elderly (N=401) who were over 65 years old living in H city under the National Livelihood Security Act. Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale III and Successful Aging Instrument were used. Results: The family function perceived by the study subjects was average $43.20{\pm}16.62$ out of maximum 100 points. According to the analysis on family types suggested by circumplex model, there were 183 people for balance family (45.6%) and 218 people (54.4%) for extreme family. The total points on successful aging were $1.67{\pm}0.37$ out of 3 points. When the difference in points on the Successful Aging instrument were analyzed according to the scores on the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scale those points of the balanced family were statistically significant (t=2.087, p=.038). Conclusion: In case of the balanced family type, the level of perceiving successful aging was relatively higher. For the improvement of family function, it is advised that the successful aging perception among vulnerable elderly can be uplifted through a program that enables effective communication with other family members.

Games are widely used in many fields, but not all games are successful. Then what makes games successful? The question gave us the motivation of this paper, which is to identify critical factors for successful games with topic modeling technique. It is supposed that game reviews written by experts sit on abundant insights and topics of how games succeed. To excavate these insights and topics, latent Dirichlet allocation, a topic modeling analysis technique, was used. This statistical approach provided words that implicate topics behind them. Fifty topics were inferred based on these words, and these topics were categorized by stimulation-response-desiregoal (SRDG) model, which makes a streamlined flow of how players engage in video games. This approach can provide game designers with critical factors for successful games. Furthermore, from this research result, we are going to develop a model for immersive game experiences to explain why some games are more addictive than others and how successful gamification works.

SCM(Supply Chain Management) is one of the important issues in internet-based business environment. This study intends to suggest a research model to investigate the influence of environmental, organizational, technical factors on successful SCM system implementation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the organizational characteristics of SCM adoption on successful implementation of SCM systems, including the moderating effects of competitiveness. 122 companies data were collected by survey. The results of hypothesis testing showed that project management is the most important determinants to influence successful SCM system implementation. In addition to that, top management support, IS maturity have positive influence to successful implementation of SCM systems in direct effect model. Also, the results of hypothesis testing in moderating effect model show that competitiveness has a positive impact to successful implementation of SCM systems.

Finally, requirements for successful e-learning were described.

본 연구에서는 성공적 노화이론의 생의학적 이론과 사회심리학적 이론에 대한 각각의 선행요인인 주관적 건강 및 노인차별경험을 측정하여 어느 측면이 보다 성공적 노화에 영향을 주고 있는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 주요 결과를 보면, 첫째, 노인차별경험 중 무시차별경험이 다른 차별경험 보다 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 사회인구적 변수를 가지고 주관적 건강, 노인차별경험, 성공적 노화에 대한 차이를 분석한 결과 여성에 비해 남성이 높은 노인차별경험을 하고 있었다. 연령, 경제수준, 학력에서도 주관적 건강 및 차별경험 일부에서 차이를 나타냈다. 마지막으로, 이 연구의 주요목적인 성공적 노화에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보기 위하여 위계적 회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 주관적 건강과 차별경험 중 재산차별이 성공적 노화에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 통해 우리는 성공적 노화를 위해서 주관적 건강(생의학적 측면의 선행변수)이 노인차별경험(사회심리학적 측면의 선행변수) 보다 중요한 설명력을 갖는다는 사실을 검증했다. 이를 통해 효과적인 건강증진사업 등의 정책 입안 및 시행이 우선적으로 필요하다는 것이 입증되었으며, 노인차별을 위한 방지대책도 사회적인 논의가 필요하다는 것이 입증되었다.

Objectives: This study aimed to examine the effect of successful aging on depression and social capital(trust, norm, participation, network) of the elderly. Methods: Samples were obtained from 184 people aged over 65 years old in one county of Kyungsangbukdo. Data were analyzed with t-test, ANOVA and regression analysis. Results: First, depression, social capital and successful aging were significantly different by age, economic status and religion. Secondly, regression analysis showed that depression affected a negative influence on successful aging in Model 1, which analyzed only depression. However, Model 2, which analyzed depression and social capital at the same time, showed that only social capital affected successful aging. Conclusions: It was suggested to develop health promotion and social participation program are required for successful aging of the elderly.

Purpose: The focus of the study was on the selection-optimization-compensation (SOC) strategy to predict successful aging mediated by dyspnea symptoms in older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The model was constructed based on the hypotheses that coping strategy and social support of the elders predict successful aging through the SOC strategies. Methods: Participants were 218 outpatients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease recruited for the study. Data collection was done from March 25 to September 11, 2015, and analyzed using SPSSWIN 22.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: The hypothetical model appeared to be fit to the data. Seven of eight hypotheses selected for hypothetical model were statistically significant. The SOC strategy has only significant indirect effects through dyspnea symptoms on successful aging. Coping strategy, social support, SOC strategies and dyspnea symptoms explained 62% of variance in successful aging. Conclusion: The SOC strategies with social support and dyspnea symptoms significantly explained successful aging among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nursing strategies should be focused on social support and coping strategies to optimize SOC strategies so that older adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease are able to manage dyspnea symptoms and eventually achieve successful aging.

Many researchers and practitioners have paid much attention to identifying some critical factors for the successful implementation of the TPS, EDP and MIS. However, not much effort have been focused on the implementation issues of DSS which is different from TPS or MIS in terms of the scope of the system, evaluation criteria, decision types served, and level of users. Because of these differences, implemention of DSS should be planned and approached from different aspects of TPS, EDP and MIS. A conceptual model includes four characteristics as independent variables and three dependent variables such as system usage, user's satisfaction, and user's attitude. This paper is to empirically prove the usefulness of the model and to identify a model for the successful implementation of DSS in Korea. It will provide a better understanding of the variables associated with the successful DSS implementation.

On account of multiple causes, including prolonged global economic crisis, addressing environmental pollution and the advent of hyper-connected society, a new paradigm called 'sharing economy' has rapidly emerged. Many startups have attempted to build promising business model based on the sharing economy concept. Nevertheless, successful cases are still very rare in the global level, except for Uber and Airbnb cases. Therefore, this study analyzes necessary causes and sufficient causes for successful settlements in the market through a comparative case analysis on digital matching firms in the sharing economy businesses. For the case study, we compare five successful cases (Uber, Airbnb, Kickstarter, TaskRabbit and DogVacay), three failure cases (Homejoy, Ridejoy and Tuterspree) and a platform cooperativism case (Juno) in accordance with six value attributes of business model including value proposition, market segment, value chain, cost structure and profit potential, value network and competitive strategy. We apply Boolean method to support controlled comparison and eliminate unnecessary attributes. The Boolean analysis result shows that value proposition, cost structure and profit potential, value network and competitive strategy are the essential attributes. Furthermore, the result indicates that each attribute is a necessary condition, where all four conditions should be met simultaneously in order to be successful. With this result, we discuss essential consideration for those who are planning startup based on the sharing economy business model.
