This paper aims at the construction of the system that outputs subjective and consistent linguistic expressions of some pictures. Input to this system is information on some pictures and this system outputs explanations of basic contents of pictures and consistent connective relationships between pictures. The present system consists of the explaining part of basic contents and the explaining part of connective relationship. The former part explains behaviors and feelings of objects drawn in pictures. The latter one explains the matters not drawn in pictures by guessing them from pictures. This part considers consistency of connective relationships. From the viewpoint that the interpretation of pictures is dependent on individual subjectivity, the present system has individual database for individual subjectivity. In order to confirm the usefulness of the present approach, simulation experiments are performed. In the experiments the individual databases of subjects are constructed and the outputs of the system are evaluated. Experiment results show that good evaluation is obtained.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the subjectivity of undergraduate students about well-dying. Method: Q-methodology, which is effective in scientifically measuring individual subjectivity, was used. The result of the Q-short of the 34 Q-statements by 42 participants was analyzed using the PQM program. Result: Four cognitive types of subjectivity about well-dying were identified and labeled as follows. Type 1: oriental and family-centered type, Type 2: Individual and fate-adapted type, Type 3: altruistic and afterlife-centered type, Type 4: self-leading and secularistic type. Conclusions: Undergraduate students have a well-dying concept which tends to be self-centered and secularistic. At the same times, they also have a well-dying concept which has a basically oriental view, that is, family-centered and fate-adapted views.

There were 28 middle aged women as subjects for the research. Q-Factor Analysis by using PC Quanl Program to supply the material. Result: Through the result of this study, the stressful life events of middle-aged women could be identified by 4 types. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify subjectivity on smoking cessation of Korean adult males, and to provide basic data, for non-smoking policies. Methods: Q-methodology, a method of analyzing subjectivity of each item, was used. Thirty-nine adult males, classified 36 selected Q-statements into normal distribution, using a 9-point scale. Collected data were analyzed, using the pc-QUNAL program. Results: Among the Korean adult males, three types of smoking cessation were identified. The name for Type I was 'pursuit of faith', for Type II, 'factor of relationship disturbance' and for Type III 'ambivalence'. Conclusion: Results of this study indicate that different approaches to intervention on smoking cessation are best served for Korean adult males, based on the three types of smoking cessation, and their characteristics.
The story of Lizzie Borden has served as a creative impetus in the American imagination; following the hundred years after the Borden murders, a remarkable body of creative work has been produced. Ann Schofield asserts that the Borden story has become an "ur-text for the contemplation of power, of patriarchy, [and] of sexuality" (92). In reading Mary Wilkins Freeman's "The Long Arm" (1895), this essay re-considers Schofield's claim that the Borden story and its subsequent renditions enable a revisionary take on female subjectivity and resistance to patriarchal order. More specifically, this essay examines how Freeman's text (one of the first to fictionalize the saga of Lizzie Borden) reflects back the gendered subjectivity in the in the gothic mirror for us to consider whether that reflection began as an image of subjection or that of autonomy.
In this research, I define 'conscience' in Daesoon thought as the 'Restorative capability of returning to one's roots.' The notion of conscience forms a structure of separation and return, and it is connected to the ascetic aim of realizing human perfection. The conscience opens up potential possibilities and leads realization of potential possibilities by returning to the the point of origin. In the middle of separation and return, the conscience acts as the power of subjectivity possessed by human beings which is known as 'In jon (Human Nobility)' in Daesoon thought. The concept of conscience in Daesoon thought is connected with the subjectivity of In jon and free will as well as the character of subjectivity. This shares commonalities with critical thinking, modern characteristics, and the subjectivity of Heidegger's existentialism. Heidegger describes human fate from an existentialist vantage point using terms such as dasein, Geworfenheit, and Entwurf, and establishes human existence as an act of self-recovery from within in a lonely existential establishment. Daesoon thought implies that humanity is the root of ultimate reality, and this description is in sharp contrast with the thrownness (Geworfenheit) of Heidegger's subjectivity. Therefore, Daesoon thought can be seen as unique in its characterization of humanity as being connected to the root of ultimate reality, autonomy, and independent existence.

In this paper, we propose a method of retrieving opinioned tweets in Twitter, which is the one of the popular Social Network Services and shares diverse opinions among various users. In typical opinion retrieval systems, they may consider the presence of sentiment phrases (subjectivity) as the important factor even if the subjective phrases are not related to a given query or speaker. To alleviate these problems, we utilized the syntactic structure of a sentence to identify the relationships between 1) subjectivity-query and 2) subjectivity-speaker and 3) the syntactic role of subjectivity. Besides, our learning-to-rank approach is trained to retrieve opinioned tweets based on query-relevance, textual features, user information, and Twitter-specific features. Experimental results on real world data show that our proposed method can achieve better performance than several baseline methods in terms of precision and nDCG.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to grasp the subjectivity of the nursing students toward CAM and put the outcomes into use as basic facts and figures in developing and applying a curriculum associated with CAM. Methods: Q methodology was employed to explore the nursing students' subjectivity from their rank-order statements. For the Q population, individual in-depth interviews and literature research were conducted. Finally, 30 participants completed 40 Q statements. The data were analyzed using the QUANL software package. Results: The current survey that probed into the subjectivity of the nursing students relative to CAM abstracted four categories, namely, practical and convinced type, keep-under-control/wait-and-see type, merit acknowledging type and limitedly accepting type. Conclusion: It is recommended that various educational programs should be developed to shift the awareness of CAM on the part of the nursing students, based on the findings set forth in the current study.
The purpose of this study is to understand the types and features of subjectivity perceptions of the police by applying Q methodology that draw upon schematic model in subjectivity study. A survey was carried out among police officers in Gangwon province, South Korea, to classify the 61 selected Q-statements into a normal distribution using a 11 point scale. The collected data was analyzed using QUANL program, and principal component factor analysis using varimax rotation was used to identify the types of perceived image of the police. Type I can be categorized by a strong concern for the education & manpower management, Type II can be categorized by advocating for duty observance, Type III can be categorized by the pursuit of publicized police image and Type IV can be categorized by the suggestions for legal improvement. The use of Q methodology provides insights into the image of the police that would not be available through traditional methodologies and offers a foundation for essential efforts to address and overcome concerns about the image of the police.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify the type of Sanhujori subjectivity experienced by husbands of pregnant women, and analyzed the characteristics of each type. Method: Q-methodology was used and 207 statements were extracted. Finally, 37 Q-samples were derived and 40 P-samples used the 9-point scale to distribute statements. Data were collected from March-May 2018 and analyzed using PC-QUANL program. Results: The analysis of factor weights and variables showed that 48.0% of the total variance was explained by three types of subjectivity, namely, 'couple-centered pursuit of women's health', 'expecting emotional recovery and requiring social support', and 'each family makes their own family system' for which the explanatory powers were 38.1%, 5.8%, and 4.1%, respectively. Conclusion: This study is meaningful as it explores Sanhujori from the viewpoint of husbands; its findings can be used to both evaluate Sanhujori service in Korea and provide basic data to develop convergent services for Sanhujori.
