This study is an attempt at developing an organizational model for collection development a n.0, pplicable to Korean university libraries at their present stage of development. An emphasis is placed on the discussion of the 'subject a n.0, pproach' as compared to 'functional a n.0, pproach' in collection development work. The case history of Pusan National University Library is extensively used. The proposed collection development model consists of the following elements : - To form a collection development team and to place under the team leader subject bibliographers as follows: Bibliographer for Serials Bibliographer for Humanities Bibliographer for Social Sciences Bibliographer for Sciences and Technologies - Collection development team could operate as a separate department or as part of other departments, i. e., Deputy Director's office, Acquisitions and Processing Department, or Resources Management Department. - Collection development team takes up the responsibility for policyrelated collection work, i. e., budget allocation, evaluation of existing collection, building core collection, preservation, weeding and cooperation. - Designated certified librarians located at the(planned) subject libraries take up the responsibility for selection. Subject bibliographers cooperate with selection librarians and coordinate their work. - Certified librarians at the Acquisitions and Processing Department are assigned subject areas. They operate as acquisitions librarian and processing librarian simultaneously with their assigned subject materials.

Recently in Korea, the need has increased for the systematization of the qualifications of subject specialist librarians who have both knowledge and work experience on specific subject. The purpose of this study is to analyze the domestic situation of subject special library services as well as the education backgrounds or work experience of current subject librarians in Korea. At the end, the study attempts to suggest an appropriate framework for the qualification system establishment and operation in Korea based on the supply and demand analysis of domestic subject specialist librarians.
Purpose: To investigate the effect of an augmented reality (AR) system on muscle strength and function level of the paretic lower limb and the balance ability in the early rehabilitation program of acute stroke patients. Methods: The participants (30 or fewer days after stroke) were randomly assigned to receive intervention with an early rehabilitation program using an AR system (n=1) or an early rehabilitation program consisting of functional electrical stimulation and tilt table use (n=1). Patients in both subjects received interventions 4-5 times a week for 3 weeks. Results: In the paretic limb muscle strength, AR subject was increased from 15 to 39.6 Nm and Control subject was increased from 5 to 30.2 Nm. The paretic limb function of AR subject motor function was increased from 8 to 28 score and Control subject motor function was increased from 6 to 14 score. But sensory function was very little difference between the two subjects (AR subject: from 4 to 10 score, Control subject: from 3 to 10 score). In the balance ability, AR subject had more difference after intervention than control subject (AR subject: 33 score, Control subject: 22 score). Conclusion: The early rehabilitation program using the AR system showed a slightly higher improvement in the motor function of the paretic lower limb and balance ability measurement than the general early rehabilitation program. The AR system, which can provide more active, task-oriented, and motivational environment, may provide a meaningful environment for the initial rehabilitation process after stroke.

This research has investigated the perceptions of subject specialization services and the opinions of students majoring in library and information science preparing for librarianship, librarians operating in the field, and library directors on the status and ways of nurturing subject specialization for librarians, among others. To this end, based on the results of previous research and the survey questionnaire analysis, we have presented a policy to train subject librarians. First, we have proposed a plan for systematizing the current educational system within the department of library and information science. We have also suggested ways to secure subject expertise based on curriculum management, minor programs, multi-major programs, and interdisciplinary major programs based on the standard curriculum model. Second, we have presented a subject specialization educational system for field librarians, and further suggested details for the development of an educational program that can help build subject expertise and the operation of educational methods as well as the personnel in charge of implementing the educational programs. Third, we have proposed institutionalization of the qualifications of the subject librarian where the qualification requirements have been organized considering academic background, major program, library career, and career experience in the subject specialization service, further suggesting the implementation and maintenance of the system.
During the last two decades, impact factor has been widely used as a journal evaluation metric that differentiates the influence of a specific journal compared with other journals. However, impact factor does not provide a reliable metric between journals in different subject categories. For example, higher impact factors are given to biology and general sciences than those assigned to other traditional engineering and social sciences. This study initially analyzes the trend of the time series of the impact factors of the journals listed in Journal Citation Reports during the last decade. This study then proposes new journal evaluation metrics that adjust the impact factors across different subject categories. The proposed metrics possibly provides a consistent measure to mitigate the differences in impact factors among subject categories. On the basis of experimental results, we recommend the most reliable and appropriate metric to evaluate journals that are less dependent on the characteristics of subject categories.
Subject classification of journals is important because it can be utilized for the improvement of scholarly information services and analysis by research area. The classification by experts in a subject area wastes a lot of time and expense. On the other hand, the simple classification with basic information, such as the journal title has limitations. To solve this problem, this paper suggests the automatic classification of Korean journals using the SCI journals information cited by Korean journals, and an analysis of the classification result. In particular, this study adopted the WoS subject categories for classification to support the base for comparison between the Korean citation database and the global citation database (KSCI vs. SCI).

It is a common practice in many research areas that multiple range tests for a between subject factor such as Tukey are applied to a within subject factor in a repeated measures design. Tukey procedure, however, sometimes detects no pairs with different means even when the hypothesis of all equal level means is rejected. This study attempts to provide a rationale for the proposition that Tukey is inappropriate post hoc procedure for a within subject factor in which the observations are correlated. We introduce two multiple range tests, Bonferroni and Scheffe, for a within subject factor and show that Bonferroni is more appropriate than Scheffe for pairwise multiple comparisons. Subsequent simulation study indicates that Tukey has significantly less power than Bonferroni in detecting actual difference between means of some pairs when the observations of a within subject factor are highly correlated.
Purposes: This study aims to analyze the correlation with the current status of the medical resident application rate, physician's income, and non-benefit rates of majors in each specialty subject and to suggest implications. Methodology: First, it analyzes the correlation between the medical resident application rate by specialty subject and the income of physicians. Second, it analyzes the correlation between the income of specialists and the non-benefit rate for each specialty subject at the clinic level. Findings: First, a significant positive correlation was found between the medical resident application rate and the average physician's income for each specialty subject (r=.718, p<.01). Second, a significant positive correlation was observed between physician income at the practitioner level by medical specialty and the non-benefit rate (r=.726, p<.01). Practical Implications: In this study, the correlation between medical resident application rate by specialty subject and physician's income, non-payment and physician's income was confirmed. Choosing a department that is less risky and can earn higher income is a natural phenomenon, but it is necessary to adjust the physicians crowding phenomenon to a specific specialty subject at the government level to maintain the medical system.
The purpose of this epidermiological analysis was to evaluate the periodontal status of Korean young adults(twenties) in order to provide detail & baseline data for frequence of periodontal disease. Two hundred and fifty young adults, aged 20-29 years, were selected by random sampling. Dental visity, scaling treatment, education, income, toothbrushing frequence & method were checked, and plaque index(Loe and silness), calculus index(Ramfjord), gingival index(Loe and silness), attached gingival width, perio probing depth, gingival recession were measured. The obtained results were as follows. 1. Average plaque index(1.96), calculus index(1.43), gingival index(1.7) were higher in mandible than maxillar. It was most prevalent in lst molar. 2. Average attached gingival width(4.0mm) was wider in maxillar than mandible. It was most prominent in lateral incisor. 3. Pocket depth(>4mm) was distributed in 42% subject, it was higher in mandible than maxilla and most prevalent in 1st molar. 4. Gingival recession(>1mm) was distributed in 94% subject, it was higher in mandible than maxilla, and most prevalant in canine. 5. According to unpaired t-test, palque index, calculus index, gingival index were not statistically significant in history of scaling treatment, level of eduction and account of income, but were showed statistically significant in histrory of dental clinic.(PB0.05) 6. According to ANOVA test, correlation between tooth-brushing(frequence, method) and gingival index was showed statistically significant.(P<0.05) 7. There was gingival recessionof 87% subject in only one time brushing, 80% subject in two time, and 68% subject in three times. There was gingival recessionof 68% subject in leftright direction tooth brushing, 73% subject in upper-low method and 77% subject in combination method.

Longitudinal studies repeatedly measure outcomes over time. Therefore, repeated measurements are serially correlated from same subject (within-subject variation) and there is also variation between subjects (between-subject variation). The serial correlation and the between-subject variation must be taken into account to make proper inference on covariate effects (Diggle et al., 2002). However, estimation of the covariance matrix is challenging because of many parameters and positive definiteness of the matrix. To overcome these limitations, we propose autoregressive moving average Cholesky decomposition (ARMACD) for the linear mixed models. The ARMACD allows a class of flexible, nonstationary, and heteroscedastic models that exploits the structure allowed by combining the AR and MA modeling of the random effects covariance matrix. We analyze a real dataset to illustrate our proposed methods.
