Background and Objectives: The present study aimed to compare thresholds of direct bone-conduction (BC direct) with those of behaviorally measured BC pure-tone audiometry (PTA) and objectively measured BC auditory brainstem response (ABR) to confirm the clinical feasibility of their relationships. Subjects and Methods: Young adults with normal hearing participated in the study to determine the thresholds from three measurements at four testing frequencies. In the BC direct, the vibrator of a bone-anchored hearing aid softband was placed on the right mastoid of each subject. In both PTA and ABR, a B71 bone oscillator was placed on the subject's right mastoid. While the subject's thresholds of BC direct and BC PTA were determined with a clinically routine 5-dB step procedure, BC ABR was conducted to determine the individual's hearing sensitivity by a peak V of the waveform using tone-burst and click stimuli. Results: The BC direct showed a different pattern between low and high frequencies. Precisely, its thresholds were 13.25 and 12.25 dB HL at 0.5 and 1 kHz, respectively, but 19 and 19.75 dB HL at 2 and 4 kHz, respectively. A significant positive correlation existed between BC direct and PTA at 1 kHz, which was also correlated with ABR. Conclusions: Based on the current data, the thresholds of BC direct were similar to BC PTA at low frequencies and BC ABR at high frequencies. The thresholds of BC direct might be predictable at approximately 5 dB higher (or lower) than that in PTA, although a large data set is required for standardization.

This study compared and analyzed the contents of secondary earth science curriculum in Mongolia and South Korea to check the contents of earth science education in both countries and to prepare basic data necessary for future earth science curriculum revisions. The research questions of this study are: first, to understand the changes and current operating conditions of earth science curriculum in both countries, to compare and analyze with other foreign cases, and second, to compare and analyze the contents of earth science and curriculum in both countries. The TIMSS evaluation framework is used to compare and analyze the earth science-related contents included in the science curriculum of middle schools. For analyzing the contents of high school, the contents of NGSS in the United States and the earth science curriculum contents of high schools in South Korea were mixed and the analysis frameworks were created and validated by experts. As a result of the study, countries that follow the Russian-style education system did not organize and operate earth science as an independent science subject, and deal with earth science-related content in the natural geography area of the geography subject. The earth science contents covered in middle school science curriculum in both countries, 18 of the 27 content elements of the TIMSS content analysis framework were matched in Mongolia and 20 in South Korea. In high school curriculum, the contents of earth science in Mongolia were described more briefly and not covered than in South Korea. In particular, the Mongolian geography curriculum dealt with many environmental issues. The emphasis on the operation method of the earth science curriculum in Mongolia and the contents related to the environment can be used as a reference when developing an interdisciplinary integrated curriculum of science and social studies in South Korea.
Three-dimensional (3D) video exoscopes are high-magnification stereo cameras that project onto monitors mounted in the operating room, viewable from different angles. Outside of plastic surgery, exoscopes have been shown to successfully improve the ergonomics of microsurgery, though sometimes with prolonged operating times. We compare a single surgeon's early experience performing free flap procedures from 2020 to 2021 using either a binocular microscope or a 3D video exoscope. Ten procedures were performed with the standard operating microscope and 8 procedures with the 3D exoscope. The microsurgeon, having minimal prior experience using an exoscope, reported less neck discomfort following the free flap procedures performed with the exoscope compared with the binocular surgical microscope. Total average operating time was comparable between the standard surgical microscope and the 3D exoscope (13.7 vs. 13.4 hours, p = 0.34). Our early experience using a 3D exoscope in place of a standard optical microscope demonstrated that the exoscope shows promise, offering an ergonomic alternative during microvascular reconstruction without increasing overall operating times. Future studies will compare free flap ischemia time between cases performed using the exoscope and the conventional binocular microscope. Medical Subject Headings authorized following words: free tissue flaps; operating rooms; ergonomics; microsurgery.
The study aims to find the strategies to support the successful settlement of "Introduction to Intellectual Property" which was established as a new subject based on the 2015 Revised National Curriculum in order to assist high school students to explore career choices. For the research purpose accomplished, the study was performed to compare high school administrators' perception with teachers' regarding how they differently perceive the introduction and utilization of "Introduction to Intellectual Property" in the educational environment of high schools. The survey tool was developed through the content investigation of two experts in the field of invention education. Questionnaires were administered to 115 participants in a training course run by KIPA(Korea Invention Promotion Association) for high school administrators and teachers, which lasted for one month, December in the year of 2016. However, 95 questionnaires were analyzed for the research. SPSS 22.K was utilized for data analysis with the 5% significance level. The study findings are as follow: First, both administrators' group and teachers' showed the moderate level of perception according to the necessity of the subject as well as the curriculum content of "Introduction to Intellectual Property". Second, the two groups presented the above-average of preception according to the utilization of the subject, and the high level of perception regarding the necessity of strategies for the successful settlement in high schools. Third, teachers' perception on the curriculum of "Introduction to Intellectual Property" was higher than administrators' within the statistically significant level. Moreover, the two groups showed the significant difference only in the effort to facilitate intramural activities based on the subject regarding perceiving the necessity of the subject.
The purpose of this study is to find the differences between home economics before and after korean Independence of the dominance of Japanes Empire. The specific aimes are to compare the subject organization, educational purpose and subject contents etc. of home economics in korean school before with after the Korean Independence of the dominance of Japanes Empire. The methods to study were to analyze some documents(laws or regulations)and textbooks etc. at that time. The result of this study is summerized as follow. 1. The subject of home economics in primary school were‘Jaibong(sewing)’,‘Kasa(household affairs)’just before Korean Independence of Japan in 1945. But the subject of home economics changed to‘Yori(cooking)’,‘Jaibong’after Korean Independence in 1945. In 1946,‘Yori’and Jaibong were integrated in‘Kasa’. In 1954, ‘Kasa’changed to ‘Silkwa(Practical Course)’. The subject of home economics in middle or high girl school were‘Kajeong(home)’, ‘Yuga(nursing)’,‘Bogeon(preservation of health)’,‘Pibok(clothing)’just before Korean Independence in 1945. But the 4 subjects changed to‘Kasa’,‘Jaibong’,‘Suye(embroidery)’and the 3 subjects changed‘Sileop and Kajeong(home affairs)’again. 2. The hours per week assigned to home economics education were higher in high school years than in low school years both in primary schools and middle or high schools. 3. Among various home economics subjects, the hours assigned to‘Jaibong’were higher than any other home economics subjects. But The hours assigned to the‘Kasa’tended to increase in high school years. 4. The purpose of home economics education in schools before Korean Independence of Japan focused of fostering korean's loyalty to Japan Empire in the end and on cultivating womanly virtue etc. This tendency was more prominant in middle or high school than primary school. 5. Korean home economics education during about 10 years generally followed the home economics education of Japanes Empire. 6. The home economics education in primary school for school boys was practised after 1955(The period of 1th curriculum). Before that time was practised home economics education for school girls. 7. Generally home economics education in Korean schools was weakened after Korea became Independant of Japanes Empire in 1945. 8. The contents of home economics education after Korean Independence tended to follow those of Japan. Among domains of the home economics the rate of contents of‘siksainghwall(life of foods)’tended to be largest, the rate of‘Jusainghwal(life of house)’lowest in primary, while the contents of‘oeusainghwal(life of clothing)’tended to be largest, the rate of‘Jusainghwal(life of house)’lowest in middle education.

The purpose of this research is to compare the opinions of three different groups - subject specialist librarians(group I) . students of department programs(group II) and students of college programs(group III) - as to whether these groups have a different way of thinking from each other concerning a general culture for subject specialist librarianship. Questionnaire are carried out for this research and the responses analyzed to draw a conclusion. Major findings are as follows: 1) The subject specialist librarianship to be important to all three groups and a desirable academic career of group I shows a tendency to have both B.A. degree in the subjet field and M.A. degree in library & information science, $15.3\%$ of group II and $82.9\%$ of group III appear to be belonging to either minor or double major programs, 2) the 37-45 major credits to be ideal to group I & III, and 46-55 group II, 3) a knowledge in 'Computer' and 'English' is mostly demanded to all three groups as the general culture for subject apecialist librarianship, 4) theoretical courses to be very important to group I and technical courses to group II & III, 5) the collection and access of library materials to be regarded to all three groups as an important role for future librarians.
This paper aims to compare and analyze the undergraduate geography curriculums of Korean and American universities. is rarely offered as an undergraduate geography subject in both Korean and American universities. This may be due to the fact that the four fields of geography(human geography field, physical geography field, regional geography field, and other geography field) are not easily able to be integrated and taught as an independent geography subject. The ratio of the subject number of human geography field(39.4%) is greater than that of physical geography field(24.5%) at the geography departments of Korean universities, but the ratio of the subject number of physical geography field(32.8%) is a little more greater than that of human geography field(29.4%) at the geography departments of American universities. The ratio of the subject number of regional geography fields at the geography department of American universities(18.1%) is greater than that of Korean universities(13.8%), so more stress seems to be laid on the field of regional geography in American universities than in Korean universities. Although the geography curriculums of Korean universities seems to follow generally those of American universities, this paper reveals that there is also differences between the geography curriculums of Korean and American universities in terms of their emphasis on four fields of geography. The differences could be explained by the historical context of the geography departments of Korean universities during the last half a century.
The purpose of this article is to compare zombie narratives in relation to the Other. In previous research, the view of zombies as post-capitalist soulless consumers or workers has been frequently expressed. But in this article, I wanted to look at zombies as the main cause of the collapse of the world and a new future. First, zombies do not only mean the representation of the consumer in the late capitalist era. Rather, it is an awakening subject desiring the outside of the system. As you can see from the Uncanny's point of view, zombies are something that we should oppress as freaks and monsters that threatened the Other. To be a zombie in this way is to meet one's other self, the "Fundamentals of Humanity," and it is the moment when everything becomes the subject ex nihilo, the new beginning. Second, the concept of infection shows a new ethic. Zombie cannibalism is different from the selfish love of a vampire who sucks a worker's blood. Zombie cannibalism is an infection, which is a model of Christian love for one's neighbor. It is a moment of awakening and the beginning of solidarity. It is on the waiting for the solidarity that the zombie hangs in such a way, and the attack on the human being is an active illusion. Third, the situation of the end of a zombie narrative is another event for newness. The anger of a zombie serves not just to show monsters, but acts as a catalyst that accelerates the world's catastrophes. The anger of zombies is the messianic violence that stops the false world, and presents a new way. The emergence of zombies and the popular response to them embody a desire for the possibility of a new subject and world.
This study aimed at compare analyzing the trend of research in Korea and Other Country on Pain in Children, suggesting direction future pain research, and contributing to the use of pain intervention in nursing practice. Research studies on pain in children were selected from Korean Nures' Academic Society Journal, Korean Pediatric Nursing Academic Society Journal, dissertations, and contected using the MEDLINE between 1980 to April, 2002.
