  • The purpose of this study is to transform the sub-categorization terms of the National Science and Technology Standards Classification System into technical keywords by applying a machine learning algorithm. For this purpose, AttentionMeSH was used as a learning algorithm suitable for topic word recommendation. For source data, four-year research status files from 2017 to 2020, refined by the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Planning and Evaluation, were used. For learning, four attributes that well express the research content were used: task name, research goal, research abstract, and expected effect. As a result, it was confirmed that the result of MiF 0.6377 was derived when the threshold was 0.5. In order to utilize machine learning in actual work in the future and to secure technical keywords, it is expected that it will be necessary to establish a term management system and secure data of various attributes.

  • The changes of the electrical conductivity in chalcogenide amorphous semiconductors, $Ge_{1}Se_{1}Te_{2}$, have been studied. A phase change random access memory (PRAM) device without an access transistor is successfully fabricated with the $Ge_{1}Se_{1}Te_{2}$-phase-change resistor, which has much higher electrical resistivity than $Ge_{2}Sb_{2}Te_{5}$ and its electric resistivity can be varied by the factor of $10^5$ times, relating with the degree of crystallization. 100 nm thick $Ge_{1}Se_{1}Te_{2}$ thin film was formed by vacuum deposition at $1.5{\times}10^{-5}$ Torr. The static mode switching (DC test) is tested for the $100\;{\mu}m-sized$ $Ge_{1}Se_{1}Te_{2}$ PRAM device. In the first sweep, the amorphous $Ge_{1}Se_{1}Te_{2}$ thin film showed a high resistance state at low voltage region. However, when it reached to the threshold voltage, $V_{th}$, the electrical resistance of device was drastically reduced through the formation of an electrically conducting path. The pulsed mode switching of the $20{\mu}m-sized$ $Ge_{1}Se_{1}Te_{2}$ PRAM device showed that the reset of device was done with a 80 ns-8.6 V pulse and the set of device was done with a 200 ns-4.3 V pulse.

  • Deep sub-micron bulk CMOS circuits require gate electrode materials such as metal silicide and titanium silicide for gate oxides. Many authors have conducted research to improve the quality of the sub-micron gate oxide. However, few have reported on the electrical quality and reliability of an ultra-thin gate. In this paper, we will recommend a novel shallow trench isolation structure and a two-step TiS $i_2$ formation process to improve the corner metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET) for sub-0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ VLSI devices. Differently from using normal LOCOS technology, deep sub-micron CMOS devices using the novel shallow trench isolation (STI) technology have unique "inverse narrow-channel effects" when the channel width of the device is scaled down. The titanium silicide process has problems because fluorine contamination caused by the gate sidewall etching inhibits the silicide reaction and accelerates agglomeration. To resolve these Problems, we developed a novel two-step deposited silicide process. The key point of this process is the deposition and subsequent removal of titanium before the titanium silicide process. It was found by using focused ion beam transmission electron microscopy that the STI structure improved the narrow channel effect and reduced the junction leakage current and threshold voltage at the edge of the channel. In terms of transistor characteristics, we also obtained a low gate voltage variation and a low trap density, saturation current, some more to be large transconductance at the channel for sub-0.1${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ VLSI devices.

  • In this study, the laminar burning velocity of syngas fuel($H_2/CO$) and flame structure with various hydrogen contents were studied using both experimental measurements and detailed kinetic analysis. The laminar burning velocities were measured by the angle method of Bunsen flame configuration and the numerical calculations including chemical kinetic analysis were made using CHEMKIN Package with USC-Mech II. A wide range of syngas mixture compositions such as $H_2$ : CO = 10 : 90, 25 : 75, 50 : 50, 75:25 and equivalence ratios from lean condition of 0.5 to rich condition of 5.0 have been considered. The experimental results of burning velocity were in good agreement with previous other research data and numerical simulation. Also, it was shown that the experimental measurements of laminar burning velocity linearly increased with the increment of $H_2$ content although the burning velocity of hydrogen is faster than the carbon monoxide above 10 times. This phenomenon is attributed to the rapid production of hydrogen related radicals such as H radical at the early stage of combustion, which is confirmed the linear increase of radical concentrations on kinetic analysis. Particular concerns in this study are the characteristics of burning velocity and flame structure different from lean condition for rich condition. The decrease of OH radicals and double peaks are observed with $H_2$ content in rich condition once $H_2$ fraction exceeds over threshold.

  • Sparse unmixing has been proven to be an effective method for hyperspectral unmixing. Hyperspectral images contain rich spectral and spatial information. The means to make full use of spectral information, spatial information, and enhanced sparsity constraints are the main research directions to improve the accuracy of sparse unmixing. However, many algorithms only focus on one or two of these factors, because it is difficult to construct an unmixing model that considers all three factors. To address this issue, a novel algorithm called multiview-based spectral weighted and low-rank row-sparsity unmixing is proposed. A multiview data set is generated through spectral partitioning, and then spectral weighting is imposed on it to exploit the abundant spectral information. The row-sparsity approach, which controls the sparsity by the l2,0 norm, outperforms the single-sparsity approach in many scenarios. Many algorithms use convex relaxation methods to solve the l2,0 norm to avoid the NP-hard problem, but this will reduce sparsity and unmixing accuracy. In this paper, a row-hard-threshold function is introduced to solve the l2,0 norm directly, which guarantees the sparsity of the results. The high spatial correlation of hyperspectral images is associated with low column rank; therefore, the low-rank constraint is adopted to utilize spatial information. Experiments with simulated and real data prove that the proposed algorithm can obtain better unmixing results.

  • Objectives: This study evaluated the effects of low and moderate concentrations of triple antibiotic paste (TAP) and double antibiotic paste (DAP) loaded into a hydrogel system on crown discoloration and explored whether application of an adhesive bonding agent prevented crown discoloration. Materials and Methods: Intact human molars (n = 160) were horizontally sectioned 1 mm apical to the cementoenamel junction. The crowns were randomized into 8 experimental groups (calcium hydroxide, Ca[OH]2; 1, 10, and 1,000 mg/mL TAP and DAP; and no medicament. The pulp chambers in half of the samples were coated with an adhesive bonding agent before receiving the intracanal medicament. Color changes (ΔE) were detected by spectrophotometry after 1 day, 1 week, and 4 weeks, and after 5,000 thermal cycles, with ΔE = 3.7 as a perceptible threshold. The 1-sample t-test was used to determine the significance of color changes relative to 3.7. Analysis of variance was used to evaluate the effects of treatment, adhesive, and time on color change, and the level of significance was p < 0.05. Results: Ca(OH)2 and 1 and 10 mg/mL DAP did not cause clinically perceivable tooth discoloration. Adhesive agent use significantly decreased tooth discoloration in the 1,000 mg/mL TAP group up to 4 weeks. However, adhesive use did not significantly improve coronal discoloration after thermocycling when 1,000 mg/mL TAP was used. Conclusions: Ca(OH)2 and 1 and 10 mg/mL DAP showed no clinical discoloration. Using an adhesive significantly improved coronal discoloration up to 4 weeks with 1,000 mg/mL TAP.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to measure and assess the occupational noise exposure levels among construction workers at apartment building construction sites in South Korea. Methods: Noise exposure assessments were conducted for 139 construction workers across 10 different trades at 53 apartment building construction sites in the northern part of Gyeonggi-do. Assessments were carried out using a noise dosimeter set with a 90 dB criterion, an 80 dB threshold, and a 5 dB exchange rate over a period of more than 6 hours(LMOEL) Results: The mean LMOEL (equivalent continuous noise level over 8 hours) for the 139 dosimeter samples was 87.8 ± 4.3 dBA. The mean noise exposure level for each construction trade, referred to as the trade mean, was also calculated. Significant differences in noise exposure levels were observed between construction trades (ANOVA, p < 0.001). The highest LMOEL values were recorded for concrete chippers (93.2 ± 2.6 dBA), followed by ironworkers (88.4 ± 0.7 dBA), concrete finishers (88.3 ± 2.7 dBA), masonry workers (87.7 ± 1.9 dBA), pile driver operators (85.6 ± 1.7 dBA), concrete carpenters (84.9 ± 2.4 dBA), interior carpenters (83.5 ± 2.1 dBA), and other groups (81.4 ± 2.2 dBA). Conclusions: The findings suggest that nearly all construction workers in this study are at risk of Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). Moreover, the study establishes that construction trades can serve as a useful metric for assessing noise exposure levels at apartment construction sites.

  • This paper proposes a leakage-suppressed SRAM with dynamic power saying scheme for the future leakage-dominant sub-70-nm technology. By dynamically controlling the common source-line voltage ($V_{SL}$) of sleep cells, the sub-threshold leakage through these sleep cells can be reduced to be 1/10-1/100 due to the reverse body-bias effect, dram-induced barrier lowering (DIBL) and negative $V_{GS}$ effects. Moreover, the bit-ling leakage which mar introduce a fault during the read operation can be completely eliminated in this new SRAM. The dynamic $V_{SL}$ control can also reduce the bit-line swing during the write so that the dynamic power in write can be reduced. This new SRAM was fabricated in 0.35-${\mu}m$ CMOS process and more than $30\%$ of dynamic power saying is experimentally verified in the measurement. The leakage suppression scheme is expected to be able to reduce more than $90\%$ of total SRAM power in the future leakage-dominant 70-nm process.

  • We have prepared polymer composites of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and ionomers (Surlyn 8940) containing polar segments and metal ions by melt blending with carbon black (CB) as a conductive filler. The resistivity and positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of the ionomer/LDPE/CB composites were investigated with respect to the CB content. The ionomer content has an effect on the resistivity and percolation threshold of the polymer composites; the percolation curve exhibits a plateau at low CB content. The PTC intensity of the crosslinked ionomer/LDPE/CB composite decreased slightly at low ionomer content, and increased significantly above a critical concentration of the ionomer. Irradiation-induced crosslinking could increase the PTC intensity and decrease the NTC effect of the polymer composites. The minimum switching current (Ι$\sub$trip/) of the polymer composites decreased with temperature; the ratio of Ι$\sub$trip/ for the ionomer/LDPE/CB composite decreased to a greater extent than that of the LDPE/CB composite. The average temperature coefficient of resistance (${\alpha}$$\sub$T/) for the polymer composites increased in the low-temperature region.

  • In this paper, we propose a simple but effective algorithm to increase the speed of Emphysema region classification. Emphysema region classification method based on CT image consumes a lot of time because of the large number of subregions due to the large size of CT image. Some of the sub-regions contain no Emphysema and the classification of these regions is worthless. To speed up the classification process, we create an algorithm to select Emphysema region candidates and only use these candidates in the Emphysema region classification instead of all of the sub-regions. First, the lung region is detected. Then we threshold the lung region and only select the dark pixels because Emphysema only appeared in the dark area of the CT image. Then the thresholded pixels are clustered into a region that called the Emphysema pre-detected region or Emphysema region candidate. This region is then divided into sub-region for the Emphysema region classification. The experimental result shows that Emphysema region classification using predetected Emphysema region decreases the size of lung region which will result in about 84.51% of time reduction in Emphysema region classification.
