The purpose of this study is to research of cultural symbol on Safavid lampas in Persia. The results are as follows. A significant feature of continuous pat-terns in lampas is the use of the human figure and a signature of designer's name in the Islamic world. Motifs can be identi-fied as Safavid lampas by the style of motifs such as birds leaves trees flowers on a gold or silver namely metal back-groud. the result shows that cultural symbol on Safavid lampas is connected with islamic culture.

This research is a study of fashion design that applied formative features of formal beauty of architecture into clothing design; we focused on Gaudi's architectural style as well as Art Nouveau style that became popular from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. We noted that in general the simple and flat features of cloth impose a limitation on the expression of formal features in clothing design, but a unique diversity of designs can be achieved, evoking a sense of freshness by an ideal combination of flat patterns and draping. The aim of this research is to present a possibility of extending the sphere of design expression by creating three-dimensional clothes with pattern-cutting skills and applications of three-dimensional patterns as well as flat patterns found in Gaudi's works of architecture that are distinguished in curvaceousness and formal beauty. As for the research method, we reviewed previous studies by making a close review of books, papers, the pictures and web sites related to this topic. We made our clothes on the basis of this theoretical consideration. We found the following points. First, by presenting a work of fashion inspired by architectural designs, we realized that formal beauty in architect can become a motive for clothing design in a broad scale by noting the formal images, decoration details, and formative features of architectural works. Second, the characteristic lines of Gaudi's architecture are suitable to be adapted for expressing the detailed lines of decoration in clothes. Third, we can express formative beauty in clothes by highlighting the variation of shapes and lines through various attempts of change in background pattern, even though there is a limitation in the availability of cloth material because we must choose pieces of cloth with right texture and thickness that can be cut and sewn appropriately to express formative beauty. Fourth, we confirmed that it was possible to create unique formative designs by a creative application of both flat and three-dimensional cutting.

Metro-Sexual is one of the most representing case showing contemporary life style of men that rooted into public already. The fundamental feature of this Metro-Sexual is the conversion of men's costume style to womanness which also could be seen from the history of clothes. The former works about sexual image, expression of sexual identity, androgynous and borderless phenomenon have been referred as base of this work. To analyze Metro-Sexual in modern social/cultural factors through such existing works will be critical part of understanding entire fashion trend in this day beyond sexual limit. As research method, former works, references, various fashion magazines and fashion related sites was used to grasp conception and womanity of Metro-Sexual. In a limited time interval from $2001{\sim}2006$ for practical work, silhouette, detail, trimming, colors, items, patterns and accessories were analyzed selected from famous S/S, F/W men's fashion collection magazine and internet site of professional fashion institute. It is obvious that Metro-Sexual already spread out in men's fashion based on such social/cultural background as new century's icon that regarded as critical factor in researching contemporary men's fashion and of the future.

A new coinage which calls a modern was appeared variously by values, taste, feature of lifestyle and the meaning of a new coinage has influence in the change of lifestyle. Particularly a popular star is a person who situates in the center of a new coinage, his role, behavior, and appearance have great influence in the birth of a new coinage. He is a fashion leader as well as the object of fashion imitation to the new generation being sensitive for fashion. As his fashion is appeared with important fashion icon in fashion market, fashion companies have developed actively star marketing marking him as an advertising model. Therefore, because the fashion trends of a popular star introduce season's fashion trends and can be important factor forecasting fashion behavior of consumer, this study aims at analysis for fashion trends of a popular star including a public entertainer. The dates of this study were collected by TV drama, internet, and magazines, etc. The fashion trends were divided into feminine fashion trend, sexy fashion trend, tomboy fashion trend, and retro fashion trend. Feminine fashion trend was based on feminity but it was classified in masculine look, simple look, chic look, and natural & romantic look according to the standard of a transformation of feminine image. Sexy fashion trend was divided into two sexy images according to the method wrapping oneself in a dress and the method exposing a specific body part. Tomboy fashion trend could be the immature boyish style which concealed bust or hip or pelvis symbolizing feminity. Retro fashion trend could be style being based on 1980's style and Y line. Fashion items as leggings, baby doll dress, tunic style, dot pattern, garsonne look were come into fashion.

This paper presents an automatic rendering system for 3D meshes which generates images in the style of oriental black ink painting. In this paper, we analyze the characteristics of black ink painting and present some requirements for our black ink rendering system. Then we survey the steps used by artists to create black ink paintings. Based on the analysis of drawing steps, we propose a black ink rendering system which reproduces the key features of black ink painting through three sub-systems: the feature line layer, the interior shading layer, and the media layer. The main contribution of this paper is to introduce new methods which generate realistic and natural results very fast while any simulation methods are not used to satisfy real-time performance. We describe our implementation of each of these, and demonstrate our results in the major three styles of black ink painting: the outline style, the spontaneous style, and the outline-spontaneous style. Our system renders 3D models of moderate complexity at interactive frame rates. As a result, we expect that our system can be directly applied to real-time applications such as computer games and virtual environments.

This study aims to propose the directions of design strategies and product development by analyzing the style types and design features of sneakers using the knitted upper which has been rapidly increasing due to merits in a variety of aspects including goods, production and marketing aspects. To this end, this study analyzed total 924 style types which had been gaining popularity in online markets and brand products drawing attention in the sneaker market with the knitted upper and their design features. In accordance with the analysis results, uniqueness was identified as the first merit. The unique hybrid style and design of sneakers with the knitted upper have been established without complying with the conventional materials and production techniques. The next merit was multimodality. The sneakers with the knitted upper create multiple images highlighting each feature of colors and materials by mixing those elements in various ways. The third merit was experimentality. The sneakers with the knitted upper have been attempted decisive change of designs by combining more engineering approach and new materials and techniques than existing sneakers. In these days when the sneaker market has been gradually expanded, the analysis results of this study reflecting the industrial trends will provide the fundamental data for a variety of research activities related to shoes and for the direction of brand planning in the relevant industries.

The purpose of this study was to compare the houses of Richard Meier and those of Mario Botta to identify the features of their houses. To identify the features of their houses through comparison, it was most important to understand the influences of their masters on them. Based on the lessons they learned from their masters, their houses were compared and analyzed. The findings were as follows. First, both their houses illustrated the principle and language of Le Corbuiser. They extended the principle and language of Le Corbuiser with their own thoughts and ideas and applied those to their houses. Second, the difference between their houses arose from the influence of Louis Kahn and Carlo Scarpa on Botta and the influence of Mies van der Roeh on Meier. Botta who was taught by Kahn and Scarpa was able to develop his expressive and heavy style of brick house, while Meier who was influenced from Mies was distinguished for his cold, transparent, sleek and contemporary style of house. Third, they both showed outstanding abilities to integrate the principles and languages of their masters in their own creative ways, when developing their own styles of houses. While Volume of Corbuiser, skills and languages of Kahn and Scarpa were put together in Botta's house, the Corbuiser's feature of sectional variety and the Mies' feature of sleek and transparency were overlapped in Meier's house. Fourth, while new expression shown in Botta's house was achieved in the process of integrating the languages of Kahn and Scarpa, new expression shown in Meier's house was created mostly in the process of taking and applying materials and languages from contemporary times.

As keen marketing competition for increasing corporate image has been begun, the creative level of annual report design, which is deeply involved with investment, has became a fundamental measure of corporate value. Good commercial design has to have both practical and aesthetic aspect. For make more creative annual report project. it's worth to find world design trend in practical way. The point of study focuses and sorts on physical properties of out-put works by the view point of editorial design, and tries to find the possibility of common design style. It analyzes key message, pagination plan and feature pages of 2013 ARC awarded annual report works in interior design category. The visual image and typographic style study of awarded works will help planner and designer who develop annual report project, because this research data reduces their process. Then it's possible to have more opportunities to create project and supports background material for making a presentation for clients.

This study mathematically and scientifically investigated the aesthetic consciousness of women inherent in the costume craftworks craftworks of the Chosun Dynasty through a systematical analysis of their textile pattern composition using visual language theory. The tangent value from the horizontal and vertical ratio of the costume craftworks craftworks indicated that they had an indigenous proportion system with a relatively regular form and pattern but without an exaggerated type. There was a module based on structures in the textile patterns of the costume craftworks craftworks and the patterns were constructed by the module with the syntagms of the ratio structure. Moreover, the analysis of the pattern designs indicated that the whole form of the costume craftworks craftworks was built through a repetitive structure of feature and one of pattern units; in addition, the craftworks had the extended composition and blank space of daring patterns, an important factor to make a whole design. Therefore, our study suggested that the costume craftworks craftworks of the Chosun Dynasty was characterized by the presentation of the aesthetic style with a Geumgang ratio (an indigenous proportion system used in Korea) and could be interpreted as an art style based on the beauty of space. Moreover, it is suggested that the spirit inherent in the costume craftworks of the Chosun Dynasty (which tried to understand the whole as one and equate the whole and parts) might agree with a holistic tendency as the foundation of Korea art.

Decision tree induction is a kind of useful machine learning approach for extracting classification rules from a set of feature-based examples. According to the partitioning style of the feature space, decision trees are categorized into univariate decision trees and multivariate decision trees. Due to observation error, uncertainty, subjective judgment, and so on, real-world data are prone to contain some errors in their feature values. For the purpose of making decision trees robust against such errors, there have been various trials to incorporate fuzzy techniques into decision tree construction. Several researches hove been done on incorporating fuzzy techniques into univariate decision trees. However, for multivariate decision trees, few research has been done in the line of such study. This paper proposes a fuzzy decision tree induction method that builds fuzzy multivariate decision trees named fuzzy oblique decision trees, To show the effectiveness of the proposed method, it also presents some experimental results.
