  • This study was conducted to reproduce the two-piece sleeve pattern of the ladies' jacket of the 1890's for Korean women of the twenties who have the standard body type and the average size. Fourteen two-piece sleeve patterns of the ladies 'jacket of the 1890's were collected and drawn to actual size. The length and width proportion of the upper-sleeve and under-sleeve pattern of the ladies' jacket of the 1890's were similar to the two-piece sleeve pattern of jacket which we see now. The elbow line of the two-piece sleeve pattern of the ladies' jacket of the 1890's was lower than the two-piece sleeve of jacket of today. The cap of the sleeve of the ladies' jacket of the 1890's was gathered and this gave volume to the upper part of sleeve but the lower part of the sleeve was tight. The study pattern of two-piece sleeve pattern which had the characteristics of the sleeve pattern of the ladies' jacket of the 1890's was designed like for Korean women of the twenties who have the standard body type and the average size through modifications based on the evaluation of dressing on two occasions. The study pattern was evaluated to have the silhouette of the sleeve of the ladies' jacket of the 1890's and to fit Korean women of the twenties who have the standard body type and the average size with the sensory test.

The summary of this study's results is like followings. First, Perspectives seeing formative characteristic on Korean fashion image are Shape with a line, color, material, pattern, accessories. Second, Design factors deciding Korean fashion image are pattern, then in order of shape, color, material, accessories. Third, In results on design factor deciding Korean fashion image, when fashion designers focus on pattern, pattern is focused on without regard for other design factor. But color and material are accompanied by other design factor in expressing Korean fashion image. As fashion design point expressing Korean astetic, use of pattern is minimized other design factor, color and material are used with other design factor, then Korean fashion image will come out more than other time else. If We develop Korean fashion design to concentrate on shape and pattern, Korean fashion culture will be known to world people and beautiful value of Korean fashion will be handed effectively.

  • Objectives : The aim of this study is to summarise pattern-identification of shoulder pain based on the classics of oriental medicine, current literature and domestic papers. Methods : The materials selected were sourced from the classics of oriental medicine, current literature and domestic papers which contained data related to pattern-identification of shoulder pain. The pattern-identifications were compared to determine the similarities, and these were classified. Results : Thirty-five studies were reviewed, and thirty-seven pattern-identifications were collated. These were classified into the following groups: wind-cold-dampness group(n = 8), blood stasis group(n = 3), phlegm group(n = 7), dual deficiency of Qi and blood group(n = 4), deficiency cold group(n = 2), liver-kidney deficiency group(n = 1) and meridian-collateral group(n = 12). Conclusions : On the basis of the classification of pattern-identifications, two groups of pattern-identifications for shoulder pain were suggested. The first group included the pattern-identification associated with a disease-cause, which included the wind-cold-dampness pattern(風寒濕型), blood stasis pattern(瘀血型), phlegm pattern(痰飮型), Qi-blood deficiency pattern(氣血兩虛型), deficiency cold pattern(虛寒型), and liver-kidney deficiency pattern(肝腎虧損型). The second included the pattern-identification associated with the meridian-collateral, which included the hand greater Yin meridian pattern(手太陰經型), hand Yang brightness meridian pattern(手陽明經型), hand lesser Yin meridian pattern(手少陰經型), hand greater Yang meridian pattern(手太陽經型), hand reverting Yin meridian pattern(手厥陰經型), hand lesser Yang meridian pattern(手少陽經型), and foot greater Yang meridian pattern(足太陽經型).

So we performed this study to investigate clinical significants trough gigong, yoga and hyperventilation in oriental medicine and westen medicine Method: Voluntary control of respiration is one of the main methods of physical and mental training such as meditation, qigong meditation or Yoga. So, this study focuses on breathing in qigong and yoga. This study appreciates a role that a control of respiration has in physical, mental aspects and searches side-effects in qigong and yoga Conclusions: A control of respiration has a function that manages Jung(精), Qi(氣), Shin(神) in Oriental Medicine. It manages Autonomic Nerve system, Endocrine system and induces natural awareness. So Briging the body and mind work through a control of breathing. Breathing pattern disorder has Damum and Qiher pattern in Oriental Medicine pattern. This disease pattern concearnes ATP metabolism. Qiher is concearned with a mitochondria disorder and Damum is concearned with a products of lactate. we guess that Lactate analysis may be utilized as a diagonostic criteria of Breathing pattern disorder. After this, It needs a study that Lactate analysis is concearned with Breathing pattern disorder as Damum pattern. Result: A control of respiration is related not only breathing but also spiritual and physical state. Joo-hwa-ip-ma as Breathing pattern disorder is smiliar to hyperventilation. HVS is patternated Damum and Qi-Weakness pattern in oriental medicine. Lactate is an important complement that diagonates HVS and will be concearned with Damum.

  • This is a study about the patterns depicted on the reliefs at Taq-i Bustan built during the Sasanian Dynasty of Persia. This study aims to understand the costume culture of the Sassanian Dynasty by analyzing the patterns depicted on the reliefs at Taq-i Bustan. As a research method, a literature survey and a comparative analysis of empirical data collected through historical site exploration was synthesized. The results of this study are as follows: Patterns appearing on the reliefs at Taq-i Bustan include pearl patterns, flower patterns, and animal patterns such as ducks, boars, and simurghs. The themes of these patterns appear differently depending on the social status, so it is assumed that the patterns were used as a means of symbolizing social status in the Sasanian Dynasty. The pearl pattern was a typical pattern that appeared in royal iconography, and the flower pattern appeared in multiple variations, and was a pattern commonly observed in the kings and his servants. Among the animal patterns, the Simurgh(Semurv) pattern is a representative pattern, which symbolizes the fertility and fecundity of the earth and this pattern was observed only on the clothes of kings. Therefore, the Simurgh(Semurv) pattern was understood as a pattern symbolizing the king's wish for the well-being of nature and the people. The patterns of other animals were mainly observed on the king's servants. Through the analysis of the patterns depicted on the reliefs at Taq-i Bustan, the life and the social aspects of the Sassanian Dynasty could be examined.

  • Oriental Diagnosis System(ODS) is an artificial intelligence program that utilize entered diagnosis knowledge, determine patient's disease and decide right medicine. The purpose of this study is to find a correlation between pattern Identification in Korean medicine and each sasang types(Tae-Eum and So-Yang) by analyzing ODS diagnosis result. Eventually our study secure availability of using ODS program at clinical training or developing diagnosis program. Subject of this study is 50 patients who was performed Sasang constitution diagnosis (28 patients were Tae-Eum and 22 patients were So-Yang). We analyize patient's diagnosis records by using ODS program and obtained result about pattern Identification. We used SPSS statistics 23 in analyzing the differences of the scores of Eight Principle Pattern Identification, Qi-Blood Pattern Identification, and Bing-xie Pattern Identification in each Sasang types (Tae-Eum, So-Yang). The Heat and Heat-moisture scores were significantly different(p<0.05) and Qi-Blood Pattern Identification scores were not different in each Sasang types(p>0.05). And Weight was significantly different in each Sasang types(p<0.05). It is hard to generalize the result because subject of this study was not enough and had sample speciality(tinnitus patients). However, we explained correlation between pattern Identification in korean medicine and each sasang types based on quantifiable and objective evidence system. it can be used at education of korean medicine and evidence of practice diagnosis. Futhermore, there have been no studies about anaylizing correlation between pattern Identification in Korean medicine and each sasang types using ODS program. So it is worthy of being utilized at clinical evidence data of ODS program.
