The purpose of the present study was to test the hypothesis that student's abductive reasoning skills play an important role in the generation of hypotheses on pendulum motion tasks. To test the hypothesis, a hypothesis-generating test on the pendulum motion and a prior knowledge test about the length of the pendulum motion were developed and administered to a sample of 5th grade children. A significant number of subjects who have the prior knowledge about the length of the pendulum motion failed to apply that prior knowledge to generate a hypothesis on a swing task. These results showed that students' failure in hypothesis-generating was related to their deficiency in abductive reasoning ability, rather than the simple lack of prior knowledge. Furthermore, children's successful generating hypothesis should be required their abductive reasoning skills as well as prior knowledge. Therefore, this study supports the notion that abductive reasoning ability beyond prior knowledge plays an important role in the process of hypothesis-generation. This study suggests that science education should provide teaching about abdctive reasoning as well as scientific declarative knowledge for developing children's hypothesis-generating skills.
This study is to investigate the problem solving styles according to the left /right brain preference among earth science gifted students. We took the R/LCT and the test of BPI to investigate the brain preference of earth science gifted students (N=16), and took S-CPST to investigate the problem solving styles on them. In the R/LCT, the earth science gifted students were classified into 3 groups (8 left-brain preference students, 7 right-brain preference students, 1 middle-brain preference student). In the BPI, 8 students had the appearance of left-brain preference, whereas 8 students had the appearance of right-brain preference. According to the result of S-CPST, first the left brain preference students tended to resolve a problem into simple components, then they put together each simple component. They prefer to solve a problem using numbers and mathematical signs logically, but they were afraid of giving trouble to describe own idea with pictures. Whereas the right brain preference students solved a problem with 3 steps. First, they saw an overall form of problem. Second, they tried to analyze each simple component of it, and then, made up all in one. Also, the right brain preference students observed the intuitive pattern of problem first, and then suggested the various problem solving methods later, and they took a solving plan using a picture in detail. In sum, earth science gifted students are unequal in problem solving styles according to the left/right brain preference. Thus, a teaching-learning method needs to be developed based on left/right brain preference for more effective gifted education.
The purpose of this study is to examine the teacher expertise to be evaluated in the secondary science teacher employment test (TET, hereafter) in order to respond to changes in educational environments including the transition to competency-based curriculum, and ways to improve the first exam in major areas in the current TET. For this purpose, Delphi surveys and in-depth interviews were conducted with 18 professors of science education who have experience in the TET. Ways to improve science content exam in the TET include securing fairness and validity by increasing the number of questions, strengthening the connection with the secondary school curriculum, updating assessment areas for certificate subjects periodically, etc. Ways to improve science education exam in the TET include research and development on the types of science education questions, introducing essay test to science education exam, development of a standardized curriculum on science education, etc. Based on the research results, the necessity of revising the curriculum for teacher training colleges, differentiating curriculum between teachers' colleges and natural science colleges, and reforming the teacher training system by introducing graduate school of education were suggested.
I got the following conclusion that analyzes the dental health recognition, attitude and the action of the students who major in health section executing questionnaire about dental health behaviors from March 3 through 26 with health-related university students in some area in order to arrange the fundamental data that manage their mouth health rationally by using the investigation and comparison by sex and department in dental health teaching. The results obtained were as follows : 1. A large number of students recognized dental health as an important problem, but they believed that the level of their knowledges on dental health was not so high and female students were more negative than male students with regards to their own dental health condition. 2. 49.8% of the students know about tap water fluoridation program control business and 60.7% agreed and boy's approval rate was higher than girl's. But 42.2% of the not-related buccal department's students have a reservation about tap water fluoridation program control business. 3. Average brushing number of the boy is 51.0% 2 times a day according to sex, A girl appeared highest by 48.3% 3 times a day and there was statistically significantly different according to (pE0.01). there wasn't statistically significantly different according to department. Also, the period of the brushing was the most right after a breakfast, in the order of before sleep and after dinner. 4. Whether they go to the dentist's or not, 90.8% of them say 'yes', the result showed statistically significant difference according to sex (pE0.01), but It didn't show statistically significant difference according to department. Also, the purpose for visiting the dentist's office lately was the most caries treatment. and there was statistically significantly different according to sex (pE0.01), but there was not statistically significantly different according to department. 5. Oral health education-related subject approval's rate when the education course open is 65.0% there was statistically significantly different according to department (pE0.01). Also when oral health education-related subject as the liberal arts open' the rate of taking a course application showed 50.2% high appear. there was statistically significantly different according to department(pE0.01).
Positive attitude toward mathematics is gaining bigger recognition as an important contributing factor to mathematical ability. As a strategy for strengthening affective domain and betterment of mathematics teaching and loaming, classifying students by their causes for liking or disliking mathematics can be an effective way In this study the author tried to devise methods to classify students by their types of math disliking and investigate correlations between mathematical achievements and these math-disliking types from a sample group of 8th graders. To identify the types of reasons why 8th graders dislike mathematics, a questionnaire with 30 items was made firstly. Then by applying the 'Factor analysis' of SPSS, the 30 items were divided into five partitions. Through abstraction of each partition, five math-disliking types, 'Competences', 'Basics', 'Confidences', 'Usefulness', and 'Teachers' were defined. They are expected to help teachers for describing each student's tendency of math-disliking. Further, correlation coefficients between mathematical achievements and each of the five math-disliking type were investigated against 4 groups which were made from sample group by the discrimination of gender and two levels (high and low) of mathematical achievements in cognitive area. As results, the following facts were found. (i) The trends of correlations between cognitive achievement and the five math disliking types were different across the 4 groups at statistically meaningful degrees. (ii) Most of the male students who had math-disliking types were proved to be in the low achievement level. But for the female students, only 50% of students who had math-disliking types were in the low achievement level. (iii) Compared to male students, higher portion of female students had math-disliking types despite their high achievement in cognitive area.

A mariner cadet gains the ability to identify and avoid potential collisions with other ships through ARPA/Radar simulation education. This research surveyed first domestic and overseas's rules (e.g., MOMAF's Standard, the STCW Convention, etc.) of the simulation education, upon investigation the only content and timing of this simulation-based education are specified according to these rules, and maritime education institutions issue the related certification autonomously after a student has taken the simulation because no simulation education module exists to further guide the ARPA/Radar simulation. As a result, it is difficult for students to acquire consistent maritime ability through ARPA/Radar simulation. This paper discusses standardization of these education modules to produce more consistent mariner ability, and verify the degree of improvement of education that would be achieved by enacting the proposed education module. The simulation education system used in maritime institutions in Korea was investigated, and scenarios reflecting traffic flow in actual waterways was proposed based on marine traffic surveys so teaching modules can educate/assess more effectively based on core marine abilities. Improvements in education and training were also verified using data collected over 2 years based on a standardized module. Each education institution can enact an effective, systematic education approach using standardized ARPA/Radar education modules proposed in this paper, and this can set a foundation to contribute to safer vessel navigation by improving maritime abilities.

This study examined the effects of role rotation experience on learning flow, self leadership and debriefing satisfaction in nursing students. A non-equivalence control group quasi-experimental study was used and included as participants 203 junior nursing students at Y University. The experimental group (n=103) participated in the teaching class using a role rotation experience, while the control group (n=100) received conventional practice education. The outcome measurements were learning flow, self leadership, and debriefing satisfaction. The collected data were analyzed using a chi-test, and at-test using the SPSS WIN 21.0 program. The total score of learning flow and self leadership were similar in the two groups. On the other hand, in the case of the debriefing satisfaction (t=-2.70, p=.008), the experimental group ($4.24{\pm}0.51$) was remarkably higher than the control group ($4.03{\pm}0.60$). Although the changes regarding the learning flow and self leadership could not be identified, the debriefing satisfaction had been affected by the practice education using the role rotation experience. Therefore, to identify the effects of simulation education for further details, more research with diversified subjects and varied durations is needed.

This study was undertaken to analyze the intervening effect of nursing simulation among nursing students. This was a critical review study, and data obtained were reviewed using various data bases, including RISS, KISS, NDSL, DBpia, and KRI. The terminologies entered in the data base were nursing and simulation. Selected studies were assessed for methodological quality; and narrative, descriptive or one group post-test studies were excluded from the analysis. Ed. Notes: Please review for accuracy. I have suggested the edit to the best of my understanding. Finally, 234 studies were included for investigation. Results included studies of nursing simulation intervention in Korea, commencing from 2008. One group pre-post test and two group post test were more designed in journals comparing to master thesis or doctoral dissertation. Clinical practice was the most frequently studied aspect by both the assessor and student in the two groups' pre-post test design. Nursing competences associated with dependent variables during simulation were integrated skills, critical thinking, communication, cooperation, professional recognition and leadership. The two groups pre-post design explored more varied competences as compared to other designs. Considering the results obtained, we conclude that simulation intervention is an effective teaching method for nursing students to help improve their clinical practice. However, further studies are required to assess the impact of critical thinking and problem solving.
The university e-learning classes give a major focused on practical training in the art and design field are opened such as theory classes. The cyber universities that fully gives on-line classes even open as theory classes. They speak about difficulty and limitation of operating cyber class with practice. So, many of them organize off-line special lecture at the classroom in weekend. In the reason of studying that has the constraints of time and space, the student wastage rates in cyber universities are going higher. This research focused on giving an efficient e-learning practice environment in college e-learning courses, and operated scholastic achievement test between the augmented reality(AR) based practice education and the existing classroom based practice education. The subjects of study were totally 84 people who are the freshmen of the design department in the two-year diploma course college. They were divided 3 groups which one was treated AR based practice e-learning and two others groups were existing classroom based practice. Each of the group took the same treated lecture during 7 weeks. The first of the outcome was the AR based practice e-learning was more effective than existing classroom based practice on the side of scholastic achievement. The second, the AR based practice e-learning aroused increasing in the interest in class on the side of attribute factors. The third, the AR based practice e-learning group made higher level of studying immersion than others. In consideration of this experiment was processed in the regular college academic course, the finding by this research shows AR based major practice e-learning is an alternative lecturing strategy what can be supplemented existing classroom based academic teaching methods.
