One of the biggest problems of Nursing Education in Korea is the division among nursing education programs of the last 3 and 4 years. To solve this problem, Nursing community must do variable trials to achieve the unity of a 4-year educational program. With this, we need to observe the phenomena and reality of the present 4-year nursing educational program that we have. The object of this study is to analyse and discuss that we have. The object of this study is to analyse and discuss the problems and future strategies of 4-year Nursing Baccalaureate program. 1. Problems as nursing department in Medical School. 1) Many 4-year nursing baccalaureate programs are operating under the medical school as nursing department. So the academic development in nursing department is unprogressive and is not approved as unique discipline. 2) The operating system between nursing and medical department are different even though they are in the same school. 3) Inequality between nursing and medical department : In many case, the nursing professor can not attend administraion committees to discuss the medical school's operation because of many differences between nursing and medical organization. 4) Weakness of the leadership and the student activities in nursing student : The nursing student involvement is usually passive because of the difference of curriculum, less number than medical students and the difference between 4-year and 6-year education program. 5) There is the obscurity of the relationship between department of nursing and other departments in whole university. 2. Problems in nursing itself 1) We need to reconstruct nursing discipline. We must change from the disease centered model to health centered model and life cycle centered model so that we can be distinguished from medicine. We also must change from hospital centered nursing to all population centered nursing, 2) The improvement of curriculum ; When the independent framework of nursing discipline become established, we need to improve the curriculum. 3) The education of clinical practice ; Most nursing school programs are divided into professors who are lecturing the theory and clinical teachers who are teaching the nursing technique in the clinic. So, what is needed in nursing discipline is that the professors have a dual position. In America, The professor is required to be a clinical specialist and to have his or her clinic so that the professor become a good role model, teach the clinical practice effectively, and give the student the practice field. 4) To extend fields of nursing : At first, the school nurse must become the school health educator, a real teacher. The nurse must establish and operate a childern's wellbeing center or nursery school, a disabled people's house or senile's wellbeing center, a mental health center, and a health promotion clinic for healthy people. 5) The name 'nursing department' need to be considered. When the focus is to be changed from the disease model to health improvement model, we take into consideration change 'nursing college', 'nursing department' and 'nursing profession' to 'health science college' or 'health wellbeing college'. 6) We must have highly qualified academic students. Each Nursing educational faculties must have the high qualified students through the development of nursing educational program and the increment of scholarship. The Korean Nurses Association and The Korean Clinical Nurses Association need to make an endeavor for the improvement of work condition and payment of clinical nurses of hospitals who consist of 70% of all nursing manpower. 3. Improvement Strategy 1) All nursing educational program must be changed 4-year program gradually. 2) Nursing department need to try to become nursing college. 3) We need to study many researches for improvement of the problem in nursing discipline and nursing education. We need more interdisciplinary researches, and we need to be granted for that research. 4) We need to have many seminars and workshops thoughout the whole country to expand a sense of nursing education. 5) Drawing up a policies plan for the nursing educational improvement : The Korean Nurses Association, The Korean Academic Nursing Association, Korea Nursing College and department President's Committee, and Korea Academic Society of Nursing Education must try for the development of nursing educational improvement and ask for government frame the policy to develop nursing education.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop an e-Learning program about medication for nurses to enhance nurses' medication performance ability and to analyze learners' responses after studying with this program. Method: For the development of the e-Learning program, the NBISD(Network Based Instructional Systems Design) model, suggested by Jung(I999) was applied as a basic model and the instruction design theory of Gagne & Briggs(1979) and ARCS theory of Keller(I983) were applied. After the operation of this program for one month to 34 new nurses, learners' responses were analyzed. Result: Learners' knowledge of medication was greatly improved after this program. In addition learners' satisfaction with the overall education program, help in field applicability, ease of screen shift and exploration, and tutor activities were high and the contents were regarded suitable for e-Learning. Many things were advantageous such as easy accessibility, easy understandability with pictures and flash animation, practical cases and feedback from a tutor. Provision of a supplementary handout and improvement of a tight time schedule were pointed out as things to be improved. Conclusion: This e-Learning program can be used effectively for medication education for registered nurses, student nurses, and new nurses.
Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the development of PBL Module and the possibility of the evaluation on the Korean medical Pediatrics class. Methods In this study, we examined the 32 case reports (four teams for three years) which were made by the Korean medicine school $4^{th}$ year students, who attended the discussion class. The student read the given materials and identified the purpose of the subjects and selected the learning issues, investigated them. After then they discussed the subjects and made the reports. Results The learning issues by students were similar, the students worked to study them with research papers, books, internet materials and personal subjects. After class, the students showed the change of their thoughts and they could accept the other one. Conclusions This study suggests it is possible that the development of PBL Module and the evaluation on the Korean medical Pediatrics Class.
Math teachers are very short of computer tools and manipulatives to use in geometry classes of middle schools for the development of spatial abilities. At most they can ask student to make regular polyhedrons for helping the students to understand by concrete experience, but this experience is not enough to develop spatial abilities in spatial figures including the regular polyhedrons. This article is to introduce instructional materials for development of spatical ability in the regular polyhedrons using computer software, Geometer's Sketchpad. In this article, students can imagine the whole figure through the parts of a plane figure and think of the parts from the solid figure by free movement from 2 dimensions to 3 dimensions, or from 3 dimensions to 2 dimensions. Also, the instructional materials devised in this article will be good to enhance spatial abilities because the relation of 1-1 correspondence in the movement of the parts can be conserved and observed precisely, which is very hard to demonstrate and visualize by paper-and-pencil. It is recommended that this kind of materials should be developed in various ways for teachers to use them directly in their geometry classes.
The concepts of ratio and proportion do not develop in isolation. Rather, they are part of the individual's multiplicative conceptual field, which includes other concepts such as multiplication, division, and rational numbers. The current study attempted to clarify the beginning of this development process. One fourth student, Kyungsu, was encourage to schematize his trial-and-error-based method, which was effective in solving so-called missing-value tasks. This study describes several advancements Kyungsu made during the teaching experiment and analyzes the challenges Kyungsu faced in attempting to schematize his method. Finally, the mathematical knowledge Kyungsu needed to further develop his ratio and proportion concepts is identified. The findings provide additional support for the view that the development of ratio and proportion concepts is embedded within the development of the multiplicative conceptual field.
The aim of this study is to show that using a Web-Based Instruction system is a better method to help counteract deficient teaching, learning conditions and facilities thus improving the students' interest, understanding, participation and skill development in Physical Education. The key findings of this study are as follows; The first advantage of using this system is that the theory of Softball is explained with the use of pictures rather than text, thus improving the students' understanding. The second is the method in which practical skills are explained and demonstrated. Action image sequences are used as opposed to the old method of using stationary pictures. This means that the learners can clearly see and understand why and, more importantly, how to use these skills. The third advantage is the technique used to teach the application of these skills. Using active rather than passive learning and thus engaging the student encourages improved participation and learning. The fourth advantage comes in evaluation: both subjective and objective questions are asked in theoretical evaluation, and the teachers can evaluate the students' understanding and skill development by filming their actual Softball games. The final advantage is the use of Self-Directed Learning to aid learners' development of understanding of the lesson content as interactions between teachers and learners are constructe
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the psychological problems of the children in early stage and provide basic data for develop the children's mental health promotion programs. Methods: There were 270 subjects who were fist and forth grade of elementary school and the data was collected through their parents. This study use Child Problem-Behavior Screening Questionnaire that was divided into five sub-scales, including internal problems, external problems, cognitive problems, abuse problems and psychosomatic problems. Each sub-scales have one cutting points, children whose scores above the cutting points means abnormal in correspond subscale. Results: 1) The most appearing problems was psychosomatic problems with 10.8% of subjects and next internal problems with 8.6% of subjects in elementary school student. 2) For distribution of mental behavior development according to gender, there was significant difference in psychosomatic problems between male and female (p =.009). 3) For distribution of mental behavior development according to grade, the results showed that significant difference in internal problems (p =.000) and total scores of CPSQ (p =.012) between first grade and forth grade. Conclusion: When we develop children's mental health promotion program, it is necessary to considerate the gender and grade characteristics.
The Korean society of School Health was opened to research school health, publish a Journal, survey activities, educate members, and exchange information etc This society has operated these services actively since 1987. The objectives of this study are (1) To review the quantitative development process of the society of school health (2) To review the qualitative development process of the society. (3) To suggest improvement and new directions of the society The quantitative aspects include number of members, number of conferences, and number of journals published; the qualitative aspects deal with comprehension and sufficiency of these activities A literature review method was used for this study The results are as follows. (1) The number of members increased to 987 from 200 (2) The number of conferences total led 15 at an average of 1 5 per year since 1987 (3) The journal of the Korean society of school health was published a total of 20 times at an average of 2 per year. (4) Many health behavior and student-oriented articles were published (5) There are few activities that exchange international information, suply data to members, and investigate the opinions of society concerning school health Consequently, positive activities concerning major school health themes, research concerning the health rights of teachers in a school environment, and a more systematic management of members should be developed. Also, it is necessary to develope an in-service education program for those same members.
