한국판 전투 노출 척도의 신뢰도와 타당도 (Reliability and Validity of the Korean Version of the Combat Exposure Scale)

  • Objective : In posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), it is essential to evaluate the severity of trauma with a reliable instrument. The combat exposure scale (CES) is one of the most widely used measures for the combat-related trauma. The present study was conducted to test the reliability and validity of the Korean version of CES (CES-K). Methods : One hundred and forty-five male Korean veterans of the Vietnam War participated in this study. CES-K, the structured clinical interview for DSM-III-R (SCID), clinician administered PTSD scale (CAPS), and the Korean version life events checklist (LEC-K) were administered. Results : Cronbach's coefficient of CES-K was .85, and the test-retest reliability was .94. The mean [standard deviation (SD)] scores of CES-K were 20.4 (9.0) in the PTSD group and 12.0 (8.6) in the non-PTSD group (p<.001). CES-K showed a significant correlation with LEC-K (r=.31, p<.001) and CAPS (r=.52, p<.001). Only one factor was revealed by the factor analysis. Conclusion : CES-K showed good reliability and validity for assessing the severity of combat exposure. Further, it demonstrated comparable psychometric properties to the previous study. It is expected that CES-K will be a useful tool for evaluating the severity of combat exposure in Korea.

수학과 교수.학습 과정에 핵심역량의 반영 정도와 그 가능성에 대한 교사들의 인식조사 (Teachers' Perceptions and Applications of Key Competency-Based Learning and Instruction in Mathematics Classrooms)

  • 국내외 교육개혁에 있어 역량이 도입되는 흐름 속에서 본 연구는 수학과 교수 학습 과정에 핵심역량의 반영 정도와 그 가능성에 대한 초 중 고 교사들의 인식을 설문조사와 심층면담을 통해 분석하였다. 한국교육과정평가원(KICE)에서 제안한 핵심역량 중 교수 학습 과정에 반영되고 있는 핵심역량은 문제해결능력, 기초학습능력, 창의력, 의사소통능력, 정보처리능력의 순으로 나타났다. 한편, 대인관계능력, 자기관리능력, 시민의식, 국제사회문화이해, 진로개발능력은 수학내용과 직접적인 연결이 안 됨, 수업시간 부족 등의 이유로 교수 학습 과정에 덜 반영되고 있으며, 특히 국제사회문화이해, 시민의식, 대인관계능력, 진로개발능력은 수학교육에 반영이 어려운 역량으로 인식하였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 학교교육을 통해 길러야 할 핵심역량은 수학교육을 통해서도 길러져야 한다는 전제 아래 교사들의 인식전환, 교수 학습 방법과 학습 자료의 개발 및 홍보, 평가 방법의 변화가 필요함을 시사한다.

재미 한국 간호사들이 경험한 한국과 미국 병원의 간호실무의 차이 (A Comparison of Hospital Nursing Practice in Korea and the U.S. as Experienced by Korean Nurses)

  • Since the introduction of Western concept of nursing to Korea in late 1880s, Korean nursing practice has evolved into Korean culture. The purpose of this study was to explore and identify similarities and differences in hospital nursing practice between Korea and the United States using the grounded theory method. The data were gathered from 15 Korean nurses working in U.S. hospitals using semi-structured, in-depth interview method. Major similarities in nursing practice between Korea and U.S. existed in the 7 domains that Benner indicated in 1984. The nursing administration system was also similar in both countries. On the other hand, differences existed in how nurses execute these domains of nursing practice. These are the roles of nurses. nurse aides and family members. and the interpersonal relationships, and problem presentation and problem-solving strategies. American family members rarely participated in the patient's bedside nursing care, while Korean family members actively participated. American nurse aide participated in direct patient care, while Korean nurse aides did not. Also Korean nurses were participated more in administering and managiang the patient's diagnostic and treatment modalities, while American nurses foucused on the needs and demands of the patient. In terms of interpersonal relationships, American patients were more self-centered and demanding than Korean. American nurses focused more on the right of individuals while Korean nurses were more oriented to harmony with the coworkers. With inferiors and superiors, American members were more egalitarian, while Koreans tended to be hierachical. In ways of suggesting problems, American nurses tended to pick out the problems more frequently than Korean nurses did.. As to ways to solve the problems, American nurses relied heavily on explicit verbal explanations, while Korean nurses relied more on bodily action and behaviors. The results of this comparative study contribute to nursing by adding knowledge on the theory of culture care by describing the similarities and differences in nursing practice between Korea and the United States.

성공적인 차터스쿨의 쌍둥이 시스템과 정책적 시사 (Twin System of a Successful Charter School and Policy Implications)

  • 미국의 차터스쿨은 규제로부터 자유로우나 결과에 대해 책임지는 선택권 기반의 독립적 공립학교이다. 차터스쿨은 2017년에 출범 25주년을 맞았고 미국 공교육 지평의 하나로 그 위상이 자리를 잡았다. 그러나 단위 차터스쿨에 대한 연구는 아직 미흡한 실정이다. 이 연구의 목적은 성공적인 차터스쿨의 주요 성공요인을 분석하는데 있었다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 질적연구 접근방법을 선택하여 7차례의 심층면담을 실시하였다. 4명의 교사가 참여하였으며 반구조화된 질문지를 활용하였다. 중요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 데이튼 차터스쿨의 주요 성공요인으로는 구조적인 요인과 문화적인 요인의 조화를 꼽을 수 있었다. 둘째, 게이트웨이와 어드바이저리는 구조적인 요인의 쌍둥이 시스템으로 작동하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 한국의 교육적 상황에 시사하는 바가 크며, 교육정책적 발전을 위해 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

어린이집 재원 다문화 가정 영아의 양육 현황과 어려움 및 지원요구 (Present Status, Difficulties and Support Needs of Multi-cultural Families Raising Children under 3 Years Old Enrolled at Child Care and Education Centers)

  • Objective: This study intended to analyze parenting characteristics, difficulties and support needs of multi-cultural families that had children under 3 years old, in order to develop their supporting resources. Methods: This study performed semi-structured interviews with 7 mothers from multi-cultural families that had their young children enrolled at child care and education centers in Gyeonggi Do. The interview data transcribed were analyzed using the successive contents analysis, and led to 4 themes and 12 sub-themes. Results: First, the mothers from multi-cultural families were married without understanding the Korean language and culture. Second, the multi-cultural mothers didn't properly respond to their children's needs in interaction and language aspects. As a result, the multi-cultural support centers and child care and education centers gave help to them. Third, in the view of the difficulties facing mothers, parenting problems caused by the lack of information concerning child education, the biased burden of parenting, and the different parenting values of Korean families were all expressed by the mothers. Fourth, regarding support needs, providing individual professional support for children and child-raising support for mothers, customized language and employment support for mothers and parenting education for fathers and family education on multi-culturalism are needed. Conclusion/Implications: Suggestions for decreasing the difficulties facing multi-cultural families that had children under 3 years old were discussed.

과학 영재의 역량 탐색 및 역량 사전의 개발 (A Study on Science-gifted Students' Competency and Development of Competency Dictionary)

  • 최근 과학 영재 교육 대상자의 선발 제도로 관찰 추천제가 도입되었으며, 이는 잠재적 역량이 높은 과학 영재를 파악할 수 있는 신뢰롭고 타당한 선발 기준의 마련을 요구하고 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 과학 영재의 내적 속성에 대한 변별을 도울 수 있는 역량을 탐색하고, 이를 사전화하였다. 검증된 선행 역량 사전/모델로부터 역량을 추출하고, 구조화된 설문과 초점 집단 면접을 통해 과학 영재의 역량을 규명하였다. 연구 결과, '목표 제시', '계획 수립', '정보 수집 및 분석', '문제 해결', '고차원적 사고', '전문 지식 및 자기 개발'의 6개 역량으로 구성된 인지적 역량군과 '자신감', '성취 지향성', '호기심'의 3개 역량으로 구성된 정의적 역량군을 도출하였다. 그리고 도출된 역량을 바탕으로 역량명과 역량에 대한 정의, 핵심 요소, 행동지표와 수준으로 구성된 역량 사전을 개발하였다. 이 연구 결과는 관찰 추천을 통한 잠재적인 과학 영재의 선발 기준에 대한 시사점을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

영재아 양육에 대한 어머니의 역할: 한국과학영재학교 사례를 중심으로 (Parent's Role in Rearing Gifted Children: Case of Mothers of Gifted Children in Korea Science Gifted Academy)

  • 본 연구에서는 영재아를 위한 어머니 역할을 알아보기 위하여 국내 외 선행연구를 종합하여 영재부모 양육 방식을 정리해서 분류해 보았다. 또한 이를 가지고 한국과학영재학교에 재학 중인 9명 학생들의 어머니들을 대상으로 자녀 양육 사례에 적용하여 한국적 맥락 안에서의 영재교육과 관련된 부모 역할 동향을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구 결과의 데이터는 사전에 준비한 질문과 질적 데이터 수집에 사용되는 반구조화된 인터뷰 방식으로 수집하였다. 먼저 선행 연구 고찰을 통해서 영재 부모의 다양한 역할을 크게 교육자, 후원자, 대화자, 훈육자로서의 부모로 분류하는 틀을 개발 하였다. 이를 가지고 인터뷰를 분석한 결과, 인터뷰 대상자들의 역할은 선행연구에서 제시된 영재 부모 역할이 거의 유사하게 나타나고 있었다. 다만 사례 분석 결과 우리나라의 영재교육에서는 특별히 어머니가 자녀의 인적 네트워크 형성에 직접적으로 관여하고 있는 경우와 학령기 전에 문자 습득의 과정이 부모의 영향뿐만 아니라 가정에서 형제자매를 통해서 자연스럽게 이루어지도록 조절해 주는 부모 역할이 두드러지게 나타나고 있음을 발견할 수 있었다.

5인 미만 사업장의 산업안전 규제 순응 실태 (Compliance of Employer and Employee with Occupational Safety Regulation in Small Sized Enterprises of under 5 Employees)

  • This study is planned to investigate the compliance of small sized enterprises of under 5 employees directed by Industrial Safety and Health Act. Occupational safety regulation can be required for employer and employee to comply because that all members of workplace should be involved to protect worker's health. When all members of workplace comply with safety regulation, effectiveness of regulation will be realized as expectation. The study subject is composed of three groups as 501 employers, 501 employees of small sized enterprises of under 5 employees and 107 safety inspectors sampled by stratified random sampling for comparison. Data for analysis is collected from each sample using interview with structured questionnaires. Compliance is measured by 5 point scale composed by 8 sub items such as general perception, understanding, clearness, necessity, relevancy, implementation, penalty, and general compliance of the regulation. Among sub items of employer's compliance, the level of perception of regulation, necessity of regulation, relevancy of penalty are differentiated among three groups. The level of all 8 items of employee's compliance also differentiated among three groups. These results show that strategies for ensuring the same level of compliance among three groups will be needed through education, training and evaluation of regulation and feedback.

특수형태근로 종사자의 작업조건 및 안전보건 특성에 관한 연구 - 퀵서비스 등 5개 직종을 중심으로 - (Research on the Characteristics of Working Conditions and Occupational Safety and Health in the Special form Workers)

  • The purpose of this study, the overall occupational safety and health status and identify the characteristics of the workers engaged in the field of quick services, substitute driving services, home delivery, caregiver, film and television arts, to take appropriate measures to prevent industrial accidents, profession and working environment, safety recognition and education, and safety activities, accident experience and job stress survey. Survey using a structured questionnaire, 846 people directly interview research. Safety consciousness level of himself or herself was "fair level" of 3.19 points and those of colleagues and the general public were evaluated to be low as 2.84 points and 2.54 points, respectively. During the last 12 months, 21.3% of total workers in 5 job categories have received an industrial safety health education for job-related accident or disease and 87.6% of workers engaged in caregiver have received an industrial safety health education for job-related accident or disease. The proportions for delivery worker, substitute driving service and quick service/cultural art were 26.4%, 12.1% and below 10%, respectively. Frequency of having received an education was 5.7 days on average and education hour was 9.2. Regarding cases of having experienced job-related accident or having been exposed to job-related disease over the past 1 year, 17.0% of total respondents have experienced accident and 21.3% have experienced job-related disease. Preventive education for occupational safety is required to be expanded and strengthened. Except caregiver, the proportion of having received an information and education for safety rules and hazardous factors. Safety education is urgently required in order to prevent and reduce accident. Safety and health guideline is required to be developed and disseminated in order to prevent accident in advance.

한국인에서 화상 후 만성 감각이상의 특징에 대한 연구 (Characteristics of Chronic Sensory Abnormalities in Korean Burn Patients)

  • Background: After burn patients are discharged from the hospital, they may continue to feel pain and paresthetic sensations at the site of a healed burn and these problems may persist for years. This study was designed to describe the characteristics of these symptoms in terms of intensity, frequency, and influencing factors. Methods: Patients that developed paresthetic sensations at sites of a healed burn were recruited from the pain management center from January 2003 to April 2006. Data was collected using a structured interview protocol. Results: Fifty one adults, with a total body surface area burned (TBSA) of $21.1{\pm}16.3%$ aged $42.0{\pm}12.9$ years were studied. A paresthetic sensation was reported to be present every day in 52.9% (27/51) of the subjects. A variation in the intensity was most commonly related to changes in the weather. A tight sensation and itching types of sensations were significantly more frequent in patients with more extensive injuries. Conclusions: Recognition and understanding of the chronic paresthetic sensation that many burn patients continue to experience at sites of a healed burn deserve further attention. Not only do clinicians need to be aware of these problems but also strategies for prevention and alleviation shou\d be explored.
