Design of a Block Data Flow Architecture for 2-D DWT/IDWT (2차원 DWT/IDWT의 블록 데이터 플로우 구조 설계)

  • This paper describes the design of a block data flow architecture(BDFA) which implements 2-D discrete wavelet transform(DWT)/inverse discrete wavelet transform(IDWT) for real time image processing applications. The BDFA uses 2-D product separable filters for DWT/IDWT. It consists of an input module, a processor array, and an output module. It use both data partitioning and algorithm partitioning to achieve high efficiency and high throughput. The 2-D DWT/IDWT algorithm for 256$\times$256 lenna image has been simulated using IDL(Interactive Data Language). The 2-D array structured BDFA for the 2-D filter has been modeled and simulated using VHDL.

  • Recently, autonomous parking problems have attracted a great deal of attention and have been examined in many papers in the literature. In this paper we design a fuzzy logic based garage parking system which is a important part for designing a autonomous parking system. We first analysis the existed papers and design a single-input fuzzy logic control for the parking algorithm and illustrate the effectiveness of the new method via the simulation results.

Performance Characteristics of High Frequency Jetting Dispenser Featuring Piezoactuator (압전작동기를 이용한 고주파수 젯팅 디스펜서의 성능 특성)

  • This paper presents a new jetting dispenser driven by a piezoelectric actuator at high operating frequency to provide very small dispensing dot size of adhesive in modern semiconductor packaging processes. After describing the mechanism and operational principle of the dispenser, a mathematical model of the structured system is derived by considering behavior of each component such as piezostack and dispensing needle. In the fluid modeling, a lumped parameter method is applied to model the adhesive whose rheological property is expressed by Bingham model. The governing equations are then derived by integrating the structural model with the fluid model. Based on the proposed model, dispensing performances such as dispensing amount are investigated with respect to various input trajectories.

  • Bead shape in high frequency electric resistance (HER) pipe welding gives useful information on judging current welding conditon. In most welding process, heat input is controlled by skilled operators observing color and shape of bead. In this paper, a visual monitoring system is designed to observe bead shape in HERW pipe welding process by using structured light beam and a C.I.D(Charge injection device) camera. To avoid some difficul- ties arising in extracting stable features of stripe pattern and classifying the extracted features, Kohonen neural network is used to classify such bead shapes. The experimental results show accurate classification performance of the proposed method.

  • FEM numerical models have been known to provide an extensive applicability to the field of water resources development. However, some of restrictions such as requiring considerable number of input data and numerous subprocess were the problem of using such FEM numerical models. Especially, where the model is applied to the complex coastal area, difficulties will be intensified. Therefore it is necessary that the profitable user interface, data optimization, and structured system should be developed if the models could be used effectively. In this study, it is intended that development of integrated system for simulations of FEM numerical models to give better applicability in the field of water resources development. By using integrated system which was developed in this study, it would be concluded that the efforts to need some treatments for subprocesses of the FEM numerical model were decreased and GUI environment proved to be convinient for use for the on-the-job users.

Robust Stability of Two-Degrees-of-Freedom Servosystem with Stricture and Unstructured Uncertainties

  • A two-degrees-of-freedom servosystem for step-type reference signals has been preposed, in which the integral compensation is effective only when there is a modeling error or a disturbance input. this paper considers robust stability of the servosystem incorporating an observer against both structured and unstructured uncertainties of the plant. A condition is obtained as a linear matrix inequality, under which the servosystem is robustly stable independently of the gain of the integral compensator. This result implies that we can tune the gain to achieve a desirable transient response of the servpsystem preserving robust stability. An example is presented to demonstrate that under the robust stability condition, the transient response can be improved by increasing the gain of the integral compensator.

  • In designing the anti-sway controller for crane system in the industrial field, one of the basic problem is to keep the stability of system, even if the mathematical model of the plant is not exact and disturbance exists. Form this point of view, a two-degree-of-freedom(2DOF) servo controller effact to the system in which the integral compensation is effctive only when a modeling error and/or a disturbance input exist. In this paper, the change of load weight and variation of wire rope length considered as the structured uncertainty, and design the 2DOF servo contorller using independently the informations of reference signal and control output with both feedforward and feedback. The effectivenss is proved through the results for the anti-sway system in the system with the position control of trolley.

  • With the importance of comfortable environment, research about noise reduction of construction is consisting much. If construction receives the input force, noise will be generated thereby. We must predict vibration and noise characteristic to reduce structured borne noise, and construction which become a basis of such research is plate. In order to predict the radiating noise from the vibrating surface. It is required to know the velocity distribution of vibration surface exactly. It is good to use bead for reducing vibration and noise of plate. In this study, we have analyzed structure-borne noise of plate with bead and compare with plate that there is no bead about equal exciting force.

  • Sasanag Contitution Medicine(SCM) is the traditional medicine theory based on constitutional medicine in Korea. It is most import ant that a personal SCM type is determined accurately ahead of applying any Sasang treatments. For this, many researches have been studied to diagnose the SCM type using constitutional clinical data. The decision tree is a tree-structured data-mining methodology. Recently, in the Korean traditional medicine society, there have been several efforts to find diagnosing tools using the decision tree method. So, we developed a decision tree program based on web for analyzing constitutional clinical information. It can use various clinical data as input data, offer filtering function to select clinical data to be used. We can find useful factor to be influential on SCM types using this program.
