  • We analyze a posteriori error estimator for the conforming P2 finite element on triangular meshes which is based on the solution of local Neumann problems. This error estimator extends the one for the conforming P1 finite element proposed in [4]. We prove that it is asymptotically exact for the Poisson equation when the underlying triangulations are mildly structured and the solution is smooth enough.

  • In this paper, a multi-processor-based supervisory control for automatic assembly system is presented. The proposed supervisory control is organized in terms of C-language and with structured and easily expandable characteristics. Also the controller is designed to possess diagnostic capability including self-diagnosis of processor module. The developed supervisory control has been shown to be very useful via a high speed automatic assembly system with vision capability.

  • We fabricated nano-structures of the anodic aluminum oxides on sapphire substrates. Two processes of nano-structured sapphire surface have present: the one is the template mask and the other is the anodic oxidized aluminum deposited on sapphire substrate. The formation of nano-structures has investigated by FE-SEM measurement. The etched surface by the template showed periodic lattice but the deposited surface showed the randomly distributed phase of nanoholes instead of the periodic lattice.

Stability analysis to generally structured robust control problems

  • In this paper, the robust stability of characteristic polynomials with respect to real parameter variations is investigated through a new functional approach. Specifically there is no restriction on the interrelationship between coefficients of the polynomials. This allows one to treat the robust stability problems alike without distinction as to continuous or discrete time systems. Necessary condition and sufficient condition for the robust stability are shown and some examples extracted from two-link planar manipulator are provided.

  • Although the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) has been adopted in many engineering applications, one hesitates to adopt the FLC in critical applications, since there was no definite control theoretic analysis. In this paper, based on the stability/robustness analysis of an FLC by S.Y.Yi$^{[3]}$, we apply the FLC to robot manipulator with the structured and unstructured uncertainties e.g., load variation and firction, etc. And we verify the performance of the FLC by computer simulation on a simple two-link robot manipulator.

  • The stability analysis for the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) has widely been reported. Furthermore many research in the FLC has been introduced to decrease the number of parameters representing the antecedent part of the fuzzy control rule. In this paper we briefly explain a single-input fuzzy logic controller (SFLC) or simple-structured FLC which uses only a single input variable. And then we analyze that it is absolutely stale based on the sector bounded condition. We also show the feasibility of the proposed stability analysis through a numerical example of a mass-damper-spring system.

  • The reliability modeling of distributed systems requires a good understanding the reliability of the components. For thousands of web users, competitiveness in web services means a successful presence on the web. Mean time between failures of a web site on SOAP12/HTTP is considered, where SOAP12 is a protocol intended for exchanging structured information in a decentralized, distrbuted environment. Data were collected from statlab.cam.ac.uk/webstat/stat.html via the internet.

  • Existing methods for controlling systems containing unknown dead-zones show the limitations on the performances. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a novel two-layer structured Fuzzy controller by analyzing the output response of the existing Fuzzy PD controller and the precompensator.
