  • This paper is concerned with development of a multi-attribute structured decision model. In this study, we used AHP(analytic hierarchy process) and fuzzy set ranking methodology to overcome the multi-attributes structured decision problems ; such as multi-objective, multi-criterion, and multi-attributes. We proposed a 2-step approach : 1) individual evaluation and 2) integration of individual evaluations. In the first step, we define the performance factors and construct ana]isis structure, and in the second step performance evaluation by individual evaluators, and in second step, the results of individual evaluations are integrate. Also we developed a systematic and practical computer program to solve the problems according to the proposed methods. The proposed approach was known to be effective through a set of sample problems.

  • As the advent of the Internet, B2B negotiation process on the Internet has been given attention from both researchers and practitioners. However, literature still shows that only structured conditions have been explicitly considered, despite the fact that unstructured conditions should be rendered as well. In this sense, this paper proposes a new negotiation support mechanism to incorporate causal relationships between structured and unstructured conditions in the process of B2B negotiation. Fuzzy cognitive map was used as a main source of causal knowledge as well causal inference engine. A prototype named CAKES-NEGO was developed to perform experiments with an illustrative example. Results revealed the robustness of our proposed negotiation support mechanism.

  • The purpose of the study was to compare the effects of two instructional methods, which were the instructor-led instruction and the simulation delivery instruction on students' well-structured and ill-structured problem solving performance and motivation. 29 undergraduate students participated in the study and repeated measure design was used. We found significant difference of means in ill-structured problem solving performance and only relevance scale in motivation.

  • Power system operating conditions vary with system configuration and loading conditions. Coefficients in nominal system model change in a complex manner with different operating point and so does system dynamic behavior. With the aid of unstructured and structured uncertainty descriptions the worst system variations can be estimated and formulated into two different uncertainty models multiplicative unstructured uncertainty in the form of transfer function and structured uncertainty with the parametric uncertainty description. in frequency domain

  • This paper proposes the methods to construct the tree-structured database and analyze the distribution system network. In order to cope with an extensive amount of data and the frequent breaker switching operations in distribution systems, the database for system configuration is constructed using binary trees. Once the tree-structured database has been built, the system tracing of distribution network can be rapidly performed. This remarkably enhances the efficiency of data search and easily adapts to system changes due to switching operations. The computation method of fast power flow using tree search strategies is presented. The methods in the paper may be available in the field of distribution system operation.

  • Competencies of entry-level pharmacists are evaluated by multiple-choice questions (MCQ) examination and objective structured clinical examination (OSCE). OSCE helps to evaluate student's communication skills and attitudes, which are difficult to evaluate by the MCQ exam. In Korea, pharmacy OSCE is not implemented; however, the needs of OSCE is growing. This study proposed OSCE exam contents and exam methods that can be implemented in colleges of pharmacy. Further study is needed to develop OSCE scenarios and questions, validate examination questions and evaluation methods by performing a pilot study, and provide feedback on the curriculum and study methods.

  • In this paper, a nonlinear matrix inequality problem and a nonlinear optimization problem are proposed for obtaining a structured static output feedback controller. The proposed nonlinear optimization problem has LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) constraints and a nonlinear objective function. Using the conditional gradient method, the nonlinear optimization problem can be solved. A numerical example shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

  • In the paper, we proposed a ring type structured light image based embedded ranging sensor for a mobile robot. Since the proposed ranging sensor obtains omnidirectional object distance, it is useful for autonomous navigation of a mobile robot. By matching the local omnidirectional distance map with a given global object map, it is possible to get position and heading angle of mobile robot in the global coordinates. Experiments for matching and navigation were carried out to verify the performance of the proposed ranging sensor.

  • One of the obstacles on the grid generation for complex geometries with multi-block structured grids is the domain decomposition. In this paper, the domain decomposition for two-dimensional flow is studied using the flow characteristics. The potential flow equation with the source distribution on the panel surface is solved to extract the information of the flow. The current approach is applied to a two-dimensional cylinder and Bi-NACA0012 problems. The generated grids are applied to generic flow solvers and reasonable results are obtained. It can be concluded that the current methods is useful in the domain decomposition for the multi-block structured grid.

  • The measurement in the manufacturing process of curved ship hull plates still depends on wooden templates as a standard instrument. The metrology-enabled automation in the shipbuilding process has been challenged instead of line measurement with wooden templates. The developed measurement system consists of a CCD camera, multiple structured laser sources and 3-DOF motion device. The system carries out measurement of curved profiles for large scale plates by an optical triangulation method. The results of experiment conducted in a manufacturing shop demonstrate the accurate and robust performance.
