  • This study analyzed the effects of consumers' characteristic variables on information search and purchase decisions in a decision-making process that validated the path model in purchasing apparel products. In constructing a structural equation model using AMOS 19.0., the variables including enjoyment pursuit, price pursuit, product involvement and product risk were selected as consumers' characteristic variables affecting the stage of information search. A questionnaire was distributed to consumers over 20 years old who purchased apparel products using offline and online channels within one year; consequently, we were able to analyze 468 effective data. The results were as follows. First, the path model of this research proved to be the appropriate model explaining the effects of consumers' characteristic variables on the stage of purchase decision-making. Second, enjoyment pursuit had a significant positive influence on offline information search; in addition, price pursuit and product risk affected the online information search significantly. Product involvement affected online information search as well as offline information search. Third, the offline information search affected offline purchase and online information search affected online purchase. However, consumer's channel switching behavior between the stage of information search and the stage of purchase decision was not proven. The findings suggest that companies need to develop distribution strategies according to consumers' characteristic factors that effect consumer's purchase decision-making.

  • The current automotive is seeking the improvement of performance, the prevention of environmental pollution and the saving of energy resources according to miniaturization and lightweight of the components. And the variance analysis on the basis of structure analysis and DOE is applied to the lower control am. We have proposed a statistical design model to evaluate the effect of structural modification by performing the practical multi-objective optimization considering weight, stress and fatigue lift. The lower control arm is performed the fatigue analysis using the load history of real road test. The design model is determined using the optimization of acquired load history with the fatigue characteristic. The characteristic function is made use of the optimization according to fatigue characteristics to consider constrained function in the optimization of DOE. The structure optimization of a lower control arm according to fatigue characteristics is performed. And the optimized design variable is D=47 m, T=36mm, W=12 mm. In the real engineering problem of considering many objective functions, the multi-objective optimization process using the mathematical programming and the characteristic function is derived an useful design solution.

  • This research presents a method for the initial structural design of a multi-megawatt wind turbine blade. The structural data for a 2-MW blade were applied as the blade structural characteristic data of the reference blade. Tenkinds of blade models were newly designed by replacing the spar cap axial GRRP with a GFRP and CFRP These terms should be defined. at different orientations. The axial stiffness coefficients of the newly designed models were made equal to the coefficient of the reference blade. The required numbers of layers in each section of blades were calculated, and the lay-up designs were based on these numbers. Verification results showed that the design method that used the structural data of the reference blade was appropriate for the initial structural design of a wind turbine blade.

  • The butterfly valve has been used to control a flow effectively in the industrial because of its lightweight, simple structure and the rapidity of its manipulation. However, it is difficult to have the existing structural optimization using field analysis from CFD to structure analysis when the structure is influenced by fluid. This paper is evaluated the specificity to get the flow characteristic and stability of the butterfly valve using FEM and CFD. Also, it accomplished the shape optimization design using the orthogonal arrangement and characteristic function. Research result, a few experiments showed the optimal results of three dimensional structures to be multi-objective.

  • This study is focused on the indeterminacy of the contemporary social structure based on the philosophical concept of relationship. The purpose of this study is to present the index of the space planning that the contemporary society demands through analysis of a characteristics of the indeterminate program. As the result, we got a characteristic and a design method of the following indeterminate programs. (1)The characteristic of the interior space programs are in such cases as combined, the continuance, the pile, the juxtaposition, mixing and interference etc. (2) The characteristics of space planning are multiple changes of the space occupation, various sight experiences, folding structure, expansion of flow space, the insertion of a between spates etc. (3) The characteristic of space design expression is addition of various functions tv unification of a structural element and an element of furniture.

  • Structural characteristic of a rice polisher of small size was analyzed to improve its performance and to utilize such data in developing a rice polisher of large size. Spraying characteristic of nozzles which were used for rice polishing was evaluated by a machine vision system. Internal pressure of the polishing chamber was also measured according to outlet resistance, water spraying, and roller shaft speed. In addition, the performance of the polisher was analyzed based on whiteness and broken ratio according to operating conditions.

  • The characteristic prediction and analysis of 3-dimensional (3-D) solenoid-type embedded inductors is investigated. The four different structures of 3-D inductor are fabricated by using low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) process. The circuit model parameters of the each building block are optimized and extracted using the partial element equivalent circuit method and HSPICE circuit simulator. Based on the model parameters, predictive modeling is applied for the structures composed of the combination of the modeled building blocks. And the characteristics of test structures, such as self-resonant frequency, inductance and Q-factor, are analyzed. This approach can provide the characteristic conception of 3-D solenoid embedded inductors for structural variations.

  • In modern industrial society, many kinds of valves have been used to control fluid flow. For the optimization of a ball valve, a quarter of spherical ball was modeled and evaluated. However, there is a difficulty in the application of the optimization technique because of the complexity of the fluid and the restriction of analysis. Therefore, in this study, it is performed to evaluate the stability of an initial model using FEM(Finite Element Method) and CFD. In addition, a shape optimization design of the valve is accomplished using an orthogonal arrangement and characteristic functions. From the result, a new design method is represented that could overcome the time and space restriction in structural design, such as the divided ball valve with less experiment.
