MDO기법에 의한 새로운 구조해석 및 설계기법 고찰: 플랩 구동장치의 구조설계에의 적용 (A Study on the New Method for Structural Analysis and Design by MDO(Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) Methodology : Application to Structural Design of Flap Drive System)

  • MDO (Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) methodology is an emerging new technology to solve a complicate structural analysis and design problem with a large number of design variables and constraints. In this paper MDO methodology is adopted through the use of computer aided systems such as Geometric Solid Modeller, Mesh Generator, CAD system and CAE system. And this paper introduces MDO methodology as a new method for structural analysis and design through the application to the structural design of flap drive system. In a MDO methodology application to the structural design of flap drive system, kinetodynamic analysis is done using a simple aerodynamic analysis model for the air flow over the flap surface instead of difficult aerodynamic analysis. Simultaneously the structural static analysis is done to obtain the optimum structural condition. And the structural buckling analysis for push pull rod is also done to confirm the optimum structural condition (optimum cross section shape of push pull rod).

  • The design process of machine tools is regarded as a sequential, discrete, and inefficient works as it requires various kinds of design tools and many working hours. This paper describes an integrated design system embedding a design methodology that can support efficiently and systematically the conceptual structural design of machine tools. The system is a knowledge-based design system and has four machine-tool-specific functional modules including configuration design, configuration analysis, structure design, and structural analysis support module. Through the configuration design and analysis module, a machine configuration appropriate for design requirements is selected, and then the arrangement of ribs fer each structural part is decided in the structure design module. Also, the structural analysis support module is used to evaluate design result by utilizing structural analysis software, ANSYS. The system is applied to design of a tapping machine, and shows that the machine structure can be designed fast and conveniently by processing each design step interactively.

  • MDO(Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) methodology is an emerging new technology to solve a complicate structural analysis and design problem with a number of design variables and constraints. In this paper MDO methodology is adopted through the use of computer aided engineering(CAE) system. And this paper treats the structural design problem of RIROB(Reactor Inspection Robot) through the application of MDO methodology. In a MDO methodology application to the structural design of RIBOS, kinetodynamic analysis is done using a simple fluiddynamic analysis model for the warter flow over the sensor support surface instead of difficult fluid dynamic analysis. Simultaneously the structural static analysis is done to obtain the optimum structural condition. The minimum thickness (0.8cm) of the RIROB housing is obtained for the safe design of RIROB. The kinetodynamic analysis of RIROB. The kinetodynamic analysis of RIROB is done using ADAMS and the static structural analysis of RIROB is done using NISA.

  • This paper investigates the structural analysis and design of mechanical heart valve through the numerical analysis methodology. In a numerical analysis methodology application to the thickness minimization structural design of mechanical heart valve, fluid analysis is performed for the blood flow through a bileaflet mechanical heart valve. Simultaneously the kinetodynamic analysis is carried out to obtain the appropriate structural condition for the structural analysis. Thereafter the structural static analysis is also carried out to confirm the thickness minimization structural condition(minimum thickness shape of leaflet).

  • 본 연구는 통합 구조설계 시스템의 구축에서 객체지향적인 방법론을 도입하여 건축 구조물을 객체모델링하고, 구조해석 객체모델(Structural Analysis Object Model, SAOM)과 구조설계 객체모델(Structural Design Object Model, SDOM)을 개발하여 통합 구조설계 시스템의 원형(Prototype)을 제시한다. 구조해석 객체모델은 구조부재를 모델링한 것으로 유한요소법을 이용하역 구조물의 해석을 실시하며, 구조설계 객체모델은 한국 강구조 기준에 의해 구조부재의 적합성을 검토하도록 모델링 하였다. 이 두 모델은 통합 구조설계 시스템을 구축하는데 유용하도록 의미 추상적이고, 캡슐화되고, 재사용성이 높다.

  • This study explores the integration of the generative AI, specifically ChatGPT (GPT-4o), into the field of structural analysis and design using the finite element method (FEM). The research is conducted in two main parts: structural analysis and structural design. For structural analysis, two scenarios are examined: one where the FEM source code is provided to ChatGPT and one where it is not. The AI's ability to understand, process, and accurately perform finite element analysis in both scenarios is evaluated. Additionally, the application of ChatGPT in structural design is investigated, including design modifications and parameter sensitivity analysis. The results demonstrate the potential of the generative AI to assist in complex engineering tasks, suggesting a future where AI significantly enhances efficiency and innovation in structural engineering. However, the study also highlights the importance of ensuring the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated results, particularly in safety-critical applications.

  • This study presents an application of object-oriented methodology for structural dcsign process. A prototype system of integrated a structural design system is developed by introducing a structural analysis object model(SAOM) and structural design object model(SDOM). The SAOM module. which is modeled as a part of structural member, performs structural analysis using FEM approach and the SDOM module checks structural members based on Korea steel design standard. Subscale Main Wing Design and Manufacturing of WIG Vehicle Using Carbon Fiber Composites

  • This work dealt with design and manufacturing of WIG vehicle wing using carbon/epoxy composite materials. In this study, structural design and analysis of carbon composite structure for WIG craft were performed. Firstly, structural design requirement of wing for WIG vehicle was investigated. After structural design, the structural analysis of the wing was performed by the finite element analysis method. It was performed that the stress, displacement and buckling analysis at the applied load condition. And also, manufacturing of subscale wing using carbon/epoxy composite materials was carried out. After structural test of target structure, structural test results were compared with analysis results. Through the structural analysis and test, it was confirmed that the designed wing structure is safety.

  • 본 연구에서 수직축 풍력 발전기의 복합재 블레이드 및 타워에 대한 구조 설계 및 해석 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 수직축 블레이드의 설계 및 제작 수행 후 풍력 발전기 타워의 구조 설계를 수행하였다. 먼저 블레이드와 타워의 설계 요구 조건 및 사양이 정립되었다. 타워 구조 설계 이후 유한 요소 해석을 통하여 타워의 구조 해석을 수행하였다. 적용된 하중에서 응력, 변형, 고유 진동수 해석이 수행되었다. 구조 해석을 통해 타워 형상의 개선 설계 방안을 제시하였다. 최종 설계된 타워 구조는 구조 해석을 통해 안전한 것으로 확인되었다.
