  • In this paper, we consider the asymptotic properties of asymmetric least squares estimators for nonlinear regression models. This paper provides sufficient conditions for strong consistency and asymptotic normality of the proposed estimators and derives asymptotic relative efficiency of the pro-posed estimators to the regression quantile estimators. We give some examples and results of a Monte Carlo simulation to compare the asymmetric least squares estimators with the regression quantile estimators.

  • Multiplayer Online Games(MOG) using the Internet are typically organized based on a CS(client-server) or P2P(peer-to-peer) architecture. We then propose a method that combines a P2P architecture with a CS architecture in order to utilize their advantages. Most MOGs use a primary-copy replication approach that provides strong consistency control over an object. For each object and character there exists an authoritative copy, called primary copy and all other copies are secondary copies or replicas. Any update to the object has to be first performed on the primary copy. In the proposed hybrid architecture, primary copies may reside on the server or be held by clients. In this architecture, load balancing between a server and clients can be achieved by reducing the number of objects maintained by the server. Games consist of various types of actions with different consistency requirements. A multi-level approach to game consistency is sensible as it provides the best trade-off between consistency and performance. The performance for the hybrid game architecture with the primary-copy model is evaluated through simulation experiments and analysis in this paper.

  • A Multiplayer Online Game(MOG) is a game capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players and is mostly played using the Internet. P2P(peer-to-peer) architectures for MOGs can potentially achieve high scalability, low cost, and good performance. The basic idea of many P2P-based games is to distribute the game state among peers and along with it processing, network, and storage tasks. In a primary-copy based replication scheme where any update to the object has to be first performed on the primary copy, this means distributing primary copies of objects among peers. Most multiplayer games use a primary-copy model in order to provide strong consistency control over an object. Games consist of various types of actions that have different levels of sensitivity and can be categorized according to their consistency requirements. With the appropriate consistency level of each action type within a game, this paper allows developers to choose the right trade-off between performance and consistency. The performance for P2P game architecture with the primary-copy model is evaluated through simulation experiments and analysis.

  • In this paper, asymptotic results are investigated when a parametric transformation is applied to ARMA models. The conditions are determined to ensure the strong consistency and the asymptotic normality of maximum likelihood estimators and the correct coverage probability of the forecast interval obtained by the transformation and backtransformation approach.

  • This study evaluated the consistency between two quantitative fit test devices with different methods of ambient aerosol counting. Three types of respirators (N95, half mask, and full facepiece) were worn by 50 participants (male, n = 25; female, n = 25), PortaCount (Pro+ 8038) and MT (05U) were connected to one probe to one mask, and fit factors (FFs) were measured simultaneously with the original and modified protocols. As a result of comparing MT FFs with PortaCount FFs as references and by applying for the pass/fail criteria (FF = 100), the consistency between the two devices for half masks and full facepieces was very high. N95 was somewhat weaker than the two type of respirators in the consistency; however, the correlation between the two devices was very strong (p < 0.0001). The results showed that an FF of 100 as measured by PortaCount was likely to be measured as 75 by the MT. Therefore, when performing the fit test for N95 using the MT and pass level of FF 100, a certain level of adjustment is necessary, whether end-user or putting a scaling factor by manufacturer.

  • This paper is concerned with the asymptotic properties of the least absolute deviation estimators for nonlinear regression models. The simple and practical sufficient conditions for the strong consistency and the asymptotic normality of the least absolute deviation estimators are given. It is confirmed that the extension of these properties to wide class of regression functions can be established by imposing some condition on the input values. A confidence region based on the least absolute deviation estimators is proposed and some desirable asymptotic properties including the asymptotic relative efficiency also discussed for various error distributions. Some examples are given to illustrate the application of main results.

  • We present the case of a 5-year-old child with coronary complications due to Kawasaki disease; this patient unintentionally underwent both dual-source computed tomography (DSCT) coronary angiography and invasive coronary angiographic examination in 2 months. This case highlights the strong consistency of the results between DSCT coronary angiography and invasive coronary angiography. Compared to conventional invasive coronary angiography, DSCT coronary angiography offered additional advantages such as minimal invasiveness and less radiation exposure.

  • Consumers exposed to aesthetic brands can not only experience sensory pleasure but also lead to strong customer loyalty. Furthermore, aesthetic brands can expect to lead to the overall experience of the brand. They include the brand's sensory, emotional, behavioral and intellectual experience. Since aesthetic brands related to the sensory representation of customers, consumers exposed to aesthetic brands can expect to have a meaningful impact on the overall experience of the brand. The study will select aesthetic brands that distributed in Korea and then compare the aesthetic characteristics of each brand. It also seeks to verify the brand attractiveness, consistency, prominence and influence of brand motifs on the brand's sensual, emotional, behavioral and intellectual experience. To verify the influence between variables proposed in this study, we would like to conduct a multiple regression analysis. SAS 9.4 used to verify the hypotheses proposed in this study. Cronbach's α measure to verify reliability of each measurement item. In particular, brand attractiveness and brand motif can verify empirically to confirm that they play an important role in inducing brand experience.

  • This paper considers two sided tests for exponential null distribution against NBUE or NWUE alternative in life testing. The main results concern the strong consistency of two proposed statistics, one being similar to Kolmogorov - Smirnov statistic, the other similar to Cramer-Von Mises statistic. Also obtained are the asymtotic null distribution and the exact Bahadur slope of the statistic similar to Kolmogorov-Smirnov.
