  • This study focuses on the limit cycle oscillations (LCOs) of cantilever swept-back wings containing a cubic nonlinearity in an incompressible flow. The governing aeroelastic equations of two degrees-of-freedom swept wings are derived through applying the strip theory and unsteady aerodynamics. In order to apply strip theory, mode shapes of the cantilever beam are used. The harmonic balance method is used to calculate the frequencies of LCOs. Linear flutter analysis is conducted for several values of sweep angles to obtain the flutter boundaries.

  • The characteristics of the shielded suspended substrate coplanar waveguide(SSCPW) are analyzed by applying the point matchning method to the quasi-TEM mode approximation. The characteristic impedances and the effective dielectric constants are also calculated by changing the height of air and dielectric layer, and the strip width of SSCPW. Approaching the side strip width of SSCPW to zero, values of characteristic impedances and effective dielectric constants are agreed well with the results obtained by the variational method.

  • The characteristics of the shielded suspended substrate strip transmission line(SSSL) are analyzed by the point matching method and the variational method in Quasi-TEM mode. The accuracy of this solution is confirmed by analyzing and comparing this solution with the empirical solution obtained from the same dimension. The characteristic impedance and the effective dielectric constant are also studied by increasing the air-layer height of SSSL.

  • In this paper surface acoustic wave beam track changers using symmetric multistrip coupler are designed on the basis of the perturbation theory, and its characteristics are studied. SAW beam track changers, which have the configuratio of the periodic array of metal strips, are designed with the following specifications ; the number of strips : 140, the strip period: 0.25λ, the ratios of the strip width to the period a/p: 0.5, 0.375, 0.25, respectively, and approximately consistent with the theoretical values, and also the bulk wave mode and the 2nd-order effects are suppressed by these track changers.

  • Since soil-structure interactions are one of the most important subjects in the structural/foundation engineering, much study concerning the soil-structure interactions had been carried out. One of typical structures related to the soil-structure interactions is the strip foundation which is basically defined as the beam or strip rested on or supported by the soils. At the present time, lack of studies on dynamic problems related to the strip foundations is still found in the literature. From these viewpoint, this paper aims to theoretically investigate dynamics of the elliptic strip foundations and also to present the practical engineering data for the design purpose. Differential equations governing the free, out-of-plane vibrations of such sap foundations we derived, in which effects of the rotatory and torsional inertias and also shear deformation are included although the warping of the cross-section is excluded. Governing differential equations subjected to the boundary conditions of free-free end constraints are numerically solved for obtaining the natural frequencies and mode shapes by using the numerical integration technique and the numerical method of non-linear equation.

  • In this paper, a planar printed hybrid short/open-ended slot antenna with capacitive coupling feed strips is proposed for hepta-band mobile applications. The proposed antenna is comprised of a slotted ground plane on the top plane and two capacitive coupling feed strips with a chip inductor on the bottom plane. At the low frequency band, the short-ended long slot fed by strip 1 generates its half-wavelength resonance mode, whereas the T-shaped open ended slot fed by strip 2 generates its quarter-wavelength resonance mode for the high frequency band. The antenna provides a wide bandwidth covering GSM850/GSM900/DCS/PCS/UMTS/LTE2300/LTE2500 operation bands. Moreover, the antenna occupies a small volume of $15mm{\times}50mm{\times}1mm$. The operating principle of the proposed antenna and the simulation/measurement results are presented and discussed.

  • Dispersion characteristics of shielded single, coupled and edge-offset microstrip structures are investigated by using hybrid mode analysis with Galerkin's method in the spectral domain. Two new basis functions for the longitudinal strip current are proposed and convergence rates of the solutions for the basis functions are compared. Current distribution of the coupled line is obtaind from that of the single line by using shift theorem of the Fourier transform. In addition, effects of off-centered inner strip conductor on dispersion are also discussed Numerical results include various structual parameters and are compared with other available data and good agreements are observed.

  • The classical image reconstruction for stripmap SAR is based on the Fresnel approximation which utilizes deramping or chirp deconvolution in the synthetic aperture(slow-time) domain. Another approach in formulating stripmap SAR processing and imaging is based on the SAR wavefront reconsturction theory, and analysis of the SAR signal in the slow-time via the spherical wave Fourier decomposition of the radar radiation pattern. In this paper, we compare the Fresnel approximation and the wavefrong reconstruction methods using simulated stripmap SAR dada.

  • In this paper, Electromagnetic scattering problems by a resistive strip grating with tapered resistivity on a grounded dielectric plane according as strip width and spacing, relative permittivity and thickness of dielectric layers, and incident angles of a electric wave are analyzed by applying the FGMM(Fourier-Galerkin Moment Method) Known as a numerical procedure. The scattered electromagnetic fields are expanded in a series of floguet mode functions. The boundary conditions are applied to obtain the unknown field coefficients and the resistive boundary condition is used for the relationship between the tangential electric field and the electric current density on the strip. The tapered resistivity of resistive strips varies zero resistivity at strip edges. Then the induced surface current density on the resistive strip is expanded in a series of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind. The numerical results of the geometrically in this paper are compared with those for the existing uniform resistivity and perfectly conducting strip. The numerical results of the normalized reflected power for conductive strips case with zero resistivity in this paper show in good agreement with those of existing paper.
