The failure of a thin-walled tube was studied in this paper based on three failure models. Both proportional and non-proportional loading paths were applied. Proportional loading consisted of combined tension-torsion. Cyclic non-proportional loading was also applied. It was a circular out-of-phase axial-shear stress loading path. The third loading path was a combination of a constant internal pressure and a bending moment. The failure models under study were equivalent plastic strain, modified Mohr-Coulomb (Bai-Wierzbicki) and Tearing parameter models. The elasto-plastic analysis was conducted using J2 criterion and nonlinear kinematic hardening. The return mapping algorithm was employed to numerically solve the plastic flow relations. The effects of the hydrostatic stress on the plastic flow and the stress triaxiality parameter on the failure were discussed. Each failure model under study was utilized to predict failure. The failure loads obtained from each model were compared with each other. The equivalent plastic strain model was independent from the stress triaxiality parameter, and it predicted the highest failure load in the bending problem. The modified Mohr-Coulomb failure model predicted the lowest failure load for the range of the stress triaxiality parameter and Lode's angle.
Polymer concrete shows excellent mechanical properties and chemical resistance compared with conventional normal cement concrete. The polymer concrete is drawing a strong interest as high-performance materials in the construction industry. Resins using recycled PET offer the possibility of a lower source cost of materials for making useful polymer concrete products. Also the recycling of PET in polymer concrete would help solve some of the solid waste problems posed by plastics and save energy. The purposed of this paper is to propose the model for the stress-strain relation of recycled-PET polymer concrete at monotonic uniaxial compression and is to investigate for the stress-strain behavior characteristics of recycled-PET polymer concrete with different variables(strength, resin contents, curing conditions, addition of silane and ages). The maximum stress and strain of recycled-PET polymer concrete was found to increase with an increase in resin content, however, it decreased beyond a particular level of resin content. A ascending and descending branch of stress-strain curve represented more sharply at high temperature curing more than normal temperature curing. Addition of silane increases compressive strength and postpeak ductility. In addition, results show that the proposed model accurately predicts the stress-strain relation of recycled-PET polymer concrete
This paper presents triaxial test (CIVC and CKOUC) results on normally consolidated deep sea clay samples. Based on the test results the pore pressure-strain relations for both isotropicaly and anisotropicaly consgidated samples are expressed with hyperbolic functions of the major princpal strain. The analysis of the difference in pore pressure behavior due to the anisotropy in consolidation stress is carried out with the effective stress pathos of CIVC and CKOUC and finds a factor which correlates the pore pressure of two types of test.

The confined concrete subjected multi-axial stresses have been known as the fact it increases strength of concrete significantly compared with unconfined concrete. Many researchers have studied in confining effects of concrete, and now are studying in many fields. Although many researches about confined concrete using FRP have been studied recently, it is difficult to apply concrete confined by FRP in real structures because FRP is a brittle material. To investigate the influence of concrete strength and ductility increased by confining stiffness in steel, this study was tested and compared with 51 specimens confined by different shapes and thicknesses of steel tube. This test verified the increasement of strength and ductility in confined concrete. Also, analyzing the experimental data by regression method, this study provides stress-strain model about CSS and R4S considering effect of confinement stiffness on the stress-strain relations of concrete.

A numerical simulation is performed for the cooling heat transfer of a heated cylindrical pedestal by an axisymmetric jet impingement. Based on the k- $\varepsilon$- f$\sub$${\mu}$/ model of Park et at., the linear and nonlinear stress-strain relations are extended. The Reynolds number based on the jet diameter(D) is fixed at Re$\sub$D/ = 23000. The local heat transfer coefficients are compared with available experimental data. The predictions by k- $\varepsilon$-f$\sub$${\mu}$/ model are in good agreement with the experiments, whereas the standard 7- f model does not properly resolve the flow structures.

In this paper compressive characteristics of composite egg-box panels were investigated and energy absorption was calculated from the nominal stress-strain relations obtained by the compressive tests. Several different stacking sequences and number of plies were introduced for investigation of static compression characteristics and the energy absorption rates of composite egg-box panels. The compressive stress-strain relation and energy absorption of various composite egg-box panels were compared with those of aluminium egg-box panels. From the test results it was found that the fracture behavior of composite egg-box panel was affected by stacking angle causing different local deformation, during lay-up and draping processes and types of prepreg; that is, plain weave carbon/epoxy and 4-harness satin glass/epoxy. The energy absorption capacity of composite egg-box panels were proved to be higher than that of aluminium egg-box panels with low mass.

Generally, the structural material shows rate dependent behaviors, which require to constitute different strain-stress relations according to strain rates. Conventional rate- independent constitutive equations used in general purpose finite analysis programs are inadequate for dynamic finite strain problems. In this paper, a rate dependent constitutive equation for elastic-plastic material was developed. The plastic stretch rate was modeled based on slip model with dislocation velocity and density so that there is no yielding condition, and no loading conditions. Non-linear hardening rule was also introduced for finite strain. Material constants of present constitutive equation were determined by experimental data of mild steel. The constitutive equation was applied to uniaxile tension. It was appeared that the present constitutive equation well simulates rate dependent behaviors of mild steel.
The model of load-strain relations for CFT stub columns subjected to centrally compressive axial load is shown in this paper. The modified model of concrete and steel is obtained by using the experimental data and the formulas of that is based on the foreign researcher's result. The purpose of this paper is to suggest the basic data for evaluating the behavior of CFT stub columns to be variable to the strength of concrete and steel.

Measurements of internal stress .sigma.$_{i}$, anelastic strain .epsilon.$_{A}$ and recovery rate .gamma. were made in steady state creep of 2024 Al alloys over a wide range of stresses at temperatures between 260.deg. C and 380.deg. C, for the purpose of investigating the relations among the three parameters. Values of .sigma.$_{i}$ were obtained by the method of strain transient dip test, and those of .epsilon.$_{A}$ and .gamma. were determined from the results of sudden stress removal or reduction tests. As a main result, it is thought that the anelastic behavior and recovery process are basically dependent on same deformation mechanisms.sms.sms.

A theoretical prediction model of fiber bridging curve was established based on the assumption that fibers are uniformly distributed on the crack surface. However, the distance between fibers and their orientation with respect to crack surface can greatly affect the prediction of fiber bridging curve. Since, the shape of fiber bridging curve is a critical factor for predicting the tensile stress-strain relationship of ECC, it is expected that the assumption of uniform distribution of fiber may cause a significant error when predicting the tensile behavior of ECC. To overcome this shortcoming, a new prediction method of stress-strain relation of ECC is proposed based on the modified fiber bridging curve. Only effective fibers are taken into account considering the effects of their orientation and distance between them. Moreover, the approach for formulating the tensile stress-strain relation is discussed, where a procedure is presented for obtaining important parameters, such as the first crack strength, the peak stress, the displacement at peak stress, tensile strain capacity, and the crack spacing. Subsequent uniaxial tensile tests were performed to validate the proposed method. It was found that the predicted stress-strain relations obtained based on the proposed modified fiber bridging curve exhibited a good agreement with experimental results.
