Generally, space structures are subjected to severe situations, such as, sublimation, strong evaporation of lubricants, thermal stresses, high temperature gradients, irradiation, impacts by microscopic meteorites, and other factors. Recent]y, various kinds of coatings are applied to the parts under heavy contact stresses, in order to insure long wear-free lives and/or reduce friction coefficients. In space structures, molybdenum disulfide is using frequently. Moreover TiN, Al$_2$O$_3$, PTFE(Poly Tetra Fluor Ethylene) are introduced recently for space structure. In this part we are going to apply the partial model method, developed in reference[11] to analyze part with coated layer. In referencer[l1], we compute the reasonable size of partial model and aspect ratio. Using these data, we analyze the structures coated with TiN, Al$_2$O$_3$, PTFE under contact load, temperature and crack model . Beside, we consider the stress analysis under time dependent load and transient thermal effect.

In this paper, the application of magnetoelasticity in static tension monitoring for large steel cables is discussed. Magnetoelastic (EM) stress sensors make contact-free tension monitoring possible for hanger cables and post-tensioned cables on suspension and cable-stayed bridges. By quantifying the correlation of magnetic relative permeability with tension and temperature, the EM sensors inspect the load levels in the steel cables. Cable tension monitoring on Qiangjiang (QJ) 4th Bridge demonstrates the reliability of the EM sensors.
A 154kV class high-temperature superconducting (HTS) power cable system is developing in Korea. For insulation design of this cable, it is important that study on cryogenic electrical insulation design to develop the cold dielectric type HTS cable because the cable is operated under the high voltage environment in cryogenic temperature. Therefore, this paper describes a design method for the electrical insulation layer of the cold dielectric type HTS cable adopting the partial discharge-free design under ac stress, based on the experimental results such a ac breakdown strength, partial discharge inception stress, $V_{ac}$-t characteristics, $V_{imp}$-n characteristics, and impulse breakdown strength of liquid nitrogen/laminated polypropylene paper (LPP) composite insulation system in which the mini-model cable is immersed into pressurized liquid nitrogen.
The free vibration of temperature-dependent functionally graded plates (FGPs) resting on a viscoelastic foundation is investigated in this paper using a newly developed simple first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). Unlike other first order shear deformation (FSDT) theories, the proposed model contains only four variables' unknowns in which the transverse shear stress and strain follow a parabolic distribution along the plates' thickness, and they vanish at the top and bottom surfaces of the plate by considering a new shape function. For this reason, the present theory requires no shear correction factor. Linear steady-state thermal loads and power-law material properties are supposed to be graded across the plate's thickness. Uniform, linear, non-linear, and sinusoidal thermal rises are applied at the two surfaces for simply supported FGP. Hamilton's principle and Navier's approach are utilized to develop motion equations and analytical solutions. The developed theory shows progress in predicting the frequencies of temperature-dependent FGP. Numerical research is conducted to explain the effect of the power law index, temperature fields, and damping coefficient on the dynamic behavior of temperature-dependent FGPs. It can be concluded that the equation and transformation of the proposed model are as simple as the FSDT.

Silver pastes as the outer electrodes have been prepared using Pb-free glass frits with different content of $Bi_2O_3$ and the effects of glass composition on the degradation behaviors of the Ag electrodes were investigated using the change of adhesion between Ag electrode and alumina substrate with thermal cycle stress. Low adhesion and high surface resistance were observed in Ag electrode using glass frit with a $Bi_2O_3$ content of 60 wt%, owing to the open microstructure formed at the firing temperature of $600^{\circ}C$. When the $Bi_2O_3$ was increased to 80 wt% in the glass frit, the Ag electrodes had a dense microstructure with high adhesion and a low surface resistance. Delamination of the Ag electrodes was a major failure mode under thermal cycle stress and this was attributed to residual stress due to the thermal expansion mismatch between the Ag electrode and the alumina substrate.
Reactive oxygen species play critical role in kidney damage. Free radical-scavenging activities of Panax ginseng are known to be increased by heat-processing. The structural change of ginsenoside and the generation of Maillard reaction products (MRPs) are closely related to the increased free radical-scavenging activities. In the present study, we have demonstrated the Maillard reaction model experiment using ginsenoside Re and glycine mixture to identify the renoprotective effect of MRPs from ginseng or ginsenosides. Ginsenoside Re was transformed into less-polar ginsenosides, namely Rg2, Rg6 and F4 by heat-processing. The free radical-scavenging activity of ginsenoside Re-glycine mixture was increased in a temperature-dependant manner by heatprocessing. The improved free radical-scavenging activity by heat-processing was mediated by the generation of antioxidant MRPs which led to the protection of LLC-PK1 renal epithelial cells from oxidative stress. Although the free radical scavenging activities of less-polar ginsenosides were weak, they could protect LLC-PK1 cells from oxidative stress. Therefore, MRPs and less-polar ginsenosides contributed to the combined renoprotective effects against oxidative renal damage.
The present study deals with the propagation of Love wave (a type of surface wave) in crustal layer having temperature dependent inhomogeneity. It is assumed that the inhomogeneity in the crustal layer arises due to linear temperature variation in rigidity and density. The upper boundary of the crustal layer is traction free. Numerical results for Love wave are discussed by plotting analytical curves between phase velocity against wave number and stress against depth in the presence of inhomogeneity and temperature parameters. The effects boundary condition on the Love wave propagation in the crustal layer is also analyzed. The results presented in this study would be useful for seismologists and geologists.
Several extensions to the Thelandersson phenomenological model for concrete under transient high temperatures are explored. These include novel expressions for the temperature degradation of the elastic modulus and the temperature dependency of the coefficient of the free thermal strain. Furthermore, a coefficient of thermo mechanical strain is proposed as a bi-linear function of temperature. Good qualitative agreement with various test results taken from the literature is demonstrated. Further extensions include the effects of plastic straining and temperature dependent Poisson's ratio. The models performance is illustrated on several simple benchmark problems under uniaxial and biaxial stress states.

Although the temperature load is an important load among the various loads affecting the behaviors of general rahmen-type temporary bridges (GRTB), no study of the thermal load has been carried out. In the case of GRTB, horizontal displacement should be free, and the generated internal force should be minimized to reduce stress due to a temperature load. Sliding girder type bridge (SGTB) allows the axial deformation due to thermal load, and decreases the axial stress and delivers bending stress. This study examined the temperature behavior of an SGTB. Structural analysis was carried out for four types of spans (eq, 10, 20, 30, and 40m) and three types of pier heights (eq, 2, 4, and 6m) along with the GRTB. The applied loads were a fixed vertical load and an axial temperature load. The friction coefficient was 0.4, which is a representative value of a steel girder. Consequently, the stress of the SGTB increased with increasing span length, regardless of the temperature load. The stress of the GRTB increased with increasing temperature and span length. Compared to the GRTB, the stress of the SGTB decreased by 20% to 50% at the center of the girder and by 50% to 90% at the bottom of the pier. This could secure the structural efficiency compared to the GRTB with the same specifications.
Automotive today has been transforming to an electronic product by adopting a lot of convenience and safety features, suggesting that joining materials and their mechanical reliabilities are getting more important. In this study, a Sn-Cu-Cr-Ca solder composition having a high melting temperature ($>230^{\circ}C$) was fabricated and its joint properties and reliability was investigated with an aim to evaluate the suitability as a joining material for electronics of engine room. Furthermore, mechanical properties change under complex environment were compared with several existing solder compositions. As a result of contact angle measurement, favorable spreadability of 84% was shown and the average shear strength manufactured with corresponding composition solder paste was $1.9kg/mm^2$. Also, thermo-mechanical reliability by thermal shock and vibration test was compared with that of the representative high temperature solder materials such as Sn-3.5Ag, Sn-0.7Cu, and Sn-5.0Sb. In order to fabricate the test module, solder balls were made in joints with ENIG-finished BGA and then the BGA chip was reflowed on the OPS-finished PCB pattern. During the environmental tests, resistance change was continuously monitored and the joint strength was examined after tests. Sn-3.5Ag alloy exhibited the biggest degradation rate in resistance and shear stress and Sn-0.7Cu resulted in a relatively stable reliability against thermo-mechanical stress coming from thermal shock and vibration.
