내구 기준을 고려한 아우터 타이 로드의 형상 설계 (Shape Design of an Outer Tie Rod, Considering Durability Criteria)

  • Weight reduction of automobile parts has been sought to achieve fuel efficiency and energy conservation. In this study, a shape design procedure is suggested to obtained the lightweight design of an outer tie rod. The developed aluminium Al6082M is selected as a steel-substitute material. Strength assesment and durability are the important design criterion in the structural design of an outer tie rod. This study considers strength and durability in the optimization process. In this study, the kriging interpolation method and trial and error method are adopted to obtain the minimum weight satisfying the strength and durability constraints.

  • Spot welding is very important and useful technology in fabrication of an automobile body structure. Because fatigue strength of the spot welding point is however considerably lower than parent metal due to stress concentration at the nugget edge, accurate stress analysis and fatigue stength evaluation of spot welded lap joint are very important to valuate the reliability and durability of automobile body structure and to establish a criterion of long life fatigue design. Many invetigators have studied so far onsystematic fatigue strength evaluation with various methods. It is however necessary to verify their reliability and abailability for practical application to fatigue design of spot welded structure, Thus,in this study, fatigue strength evaluation methods of spot welded lap joint. which are the maximum principal stress method. the fracture and availability with the Weibull probability distribution. From the results, it was found that reliability and availability withe the Weibull probaility distribution. From the results, it was found that reliability and availability of the suggest fatigue strength estimation methods methods were higher than $\Delta$P-$N_f$ relation. However, among them , reliability of the maximum pricipal stress method was the highest.

FRP 전단 보강 콘크리트 보의 전단강도 모델 (Shear Strength Model for FRP Shear-Reinforced Concrete Beams)

  • 이 연구에서는 FRP 전단보강 및 무보강 콘크리트 보의 전단강도를 정확하게 평가하기 위하여 통합전단설계방법을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여, FRP의 전단강도 기여분과 콘크리트의 전단강도 기여분을 각각 정의하였다. 기존의 FRP 전단강도 평가모델과 실험 결과를 비교 분석한 결과, Triantafillou의 FRP 전단강도 평가모델이 FRP의 유효변형률과 전단강도의 추정이 우수하므로 Triantafillou의 모델을 이용하여 FRP의 전단강도 기여분을 정의하였다. 콘크리트 전단강도 기여분은 선행 연구에서 제안된 변형도 기반 전단강도모델을 이용하여 정의하였다. 콘크리트 단면의 압축대에 작용하는 압축응력과 전단응력의 상관관계를 고려하기 위하여 콘크리트 재료파괴기준을 이용하여 콘크리트 전단강도 기여분을 산정하였다. 제안한 설계방법은 기존 실험 연구 결과와 비교하여 유효성을 검증하였다. 비교 결과 제안한 설계방법은 다양한 설계변수 범위에서 FRP 전단보강 및 무보강 콘크리트 보의 전단강도를 정확하게 평가하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Plate that have cutout inner bottom and girder and floor etc. in hull construction absence is used much, and this is strength in case must be situated, but establish in region that high stress interacts sometimes fatally in region that there is no big problem usually by purpose of weight reduction, a person and change of freight, piping etc.. Because cutout's existence gnaws in this place, and, elastic buckling strength by load causes large effect in ultimate strength. Therefore, perforated plate elastic buckling strength and ultimate strength is one of important design criteria which must examine when decide structural elements size at early structure design step of ship. Therefore, and, reasonable elastic buckling strength about perforated plate need design ultimate strength. Calculated ultimate strength change several aspect ratioes and cutout's dimension, and thickness in this investigation. Used program applied ANSYS F.E.M code based on finite element method.

Seismic behavior of K-type eccentrically braced frames with high strength steel based on PBSD method

  • In eccentrically braced steel frames (EBFs), the links are fuse members which enter inelastic phase before other structure members and dissipate the seismic energy. Based on the force-based seismic design method, damages and plastic deformations are limited to the links, and the main structure members are required tremendous sizes to ensure elastic with limited or no damage. Force-based seismic design method is very common and is found in most design codes, it is unable to determine the inelastic response of the structure and the damages of the members. Nowadays, methods of seismic design are emphasizing more on performance-based seismic design concept to have a more realistic assessment of the inelastic response of the structure. Links use ordinary steel Q345 (the nominal yielding strength $f_y{\geq}345MPa$) while other members use high strength steel (Q460 $f_y{\geq}460MPa$ or Q690 $f_y{\geq}690MPa$) in eccentrically braced frames with high strength steel combination (HSS-EBFs). The application of high strength steels brings out many advantages, including higher safety ensured by higher strength in elastic state, better economy which results from the smaller member size and structural weight as well as the corresponding welding work, and most importantly, the application of high strength steel in seismic fortification zone, which is helpful to popularize the extensive use of high strength steel. In order to comparison seismic behavior between HSS-EBFs and ordinary EBFs, on the basis of experimental study, four structures with 5, 10, 15 and 20 stories were designed by PBSD method for HSS-EBFs and ordinary EBFs. Nonlinear static and dynamic analysis is applied to all designs. The loading capacity, lateral stiffness, ductility and story drifts and failure mode under rare earthquake of the designs are compared. Analyses results indicated that HSS-EBFs have similar loading capacity with ordinary EBFs while the lateral stiffness and ductility of HSS-EBFs is lower than that of EBFs. HSS-EBFs and ordinary EBFs designed by PBSD method have the similar failure mode and story drift distribution under rare earthquake, the steel weight of HSS-EBFs is 10%-15% lower than ordinary EBFs resulting in good economic efficiency.

현수교의 선박충돌 위험 및 설계박하중 (Ship Collision Risk of Suspension Bridge and Design Vessel Load)

  • 본 연구에서는 현수교의 선박충돌해석을 위한 설계선박을 결정하기 위하여 선박충돌위험도해석을 수행한다. 선박충돌에 대한 설계선박을 결정하기 위하여 AASHTO 설계기준에서 제시한 3개의 선박충돌 설계방법 중 확률기반 해석방법인 Method II를 사용한다. 선박충돌 위험에 노출된 각각의 교각에 대해 선박충돌위험도 평가를 하여 교각의 충돌설계수평강도를 결정한다. 해석과정은 반복적인 것으로 교량부재의 충돌저항강도를 가정하고 연간파괴빈도를 계산하여 허용기준이 만족하도록 설계 변수를 수정한다. 허용기준은 예상연간파괴빈도에 근거한 가중치를 이용하여 교각에 할당한다. 해석결과에서 안전성과 경제성을 얻기 위해 이 할당방법을 주탑집중 할당방법과 비교한다. 비록 주탑집중 할당방법이 주탑에 비해 과대평가되는 교각의 설계수평강도를 적절히 수정할 경우 보다 경제적인 결과를 가져오지만, 가중치에 의한 할당방법이 설계인자의 특성을 정량적으로 고려하기 때문에 더 합리적인 것으로 보인다. 그리고 선박충돌위험도 평가로부터 얻어지는 충돌설계수평강도에 상응하는 각각의 교각에 대한 설계선박이 결정된다. 같은 교량에 대해서도 충돌설계수평강도가 수로 및 교량의 특성과 선박통행량에 따라 상당히 변화한다. 따라서 허용기준의 할당과 설계선박 선정에 대한 많은 연구가 요구된다.

비대칭 벽식구조의 최적 비틀림 설계 (An optimized torsional design of asymmetric wall structures)

  • This paper develops an optimized torsional design method of asymmetric wall structures considering deformation capacities of walls. Contrary to the current torsional provisions, a deformation based torsional design is based on the assumption that stiffness and strength are dependent. Current torsional provisions specify two design eccentricity of stiffness to calculate the design forces of members. But such a methodology leads to an excessive over-strength of some members and an optimal torsional behavior is not ensured. Deformation-based torsional design uses displacement and rotation angle as design parameters and calculates base shear for inelastic torsional response directly. Because optimal torsional behavior can be defined based on the deformation of members, deformation based torsional design procedure can be applied to the optimal and performance-based torsional design. To consider the effect of accidental eccentricity, an over-strength factor is defined. The over-strength factor is determined from performance level, torsional resistance and arrangement of walls.

Review of Design Flexural Strengths of Steel-Concrete Composite Beams for Building Structures

  • Recently, as the use of high-performance materials and complex composite methods has increased, the need for advanced design specifications for steel-concrete composite structures has grown. In this study, various design provisions for ultimate flexural strengths of composite beams were reviewed. Design provisions reviewed included the load and resistance factor design method of AISC 360-10 and the partial factor methods of KSSC-KCI, Eurocode 4 and JSCE 2009. The design moment strengths of composite beams were calculated according to each design specification and the variation of the calculated strengths with design variables was investigated. Furthermore, the relationships between the deformation capacity and resistance factor for flexure were examined quantitatively. Results showed that the design strength and resistance factor for flexure of composite beams were substantially affected by the design formats and variables.

  • The strength assessment is the most important part at the design of ice-class propeller. Based on ice rules for ice-class propeller in IACS URI3 and FEM, the strength assessment method of ice-class propeller is established in this paper. To avoid the multifarious meshing process of propeller blade, an automatic meshing method has been developed by dividing the propeller geometry into a number of 8-node hexahedron elements along radial, chordwise and thickness directions, then the loaded areas in five cases can easily be calculated and identified. The static FEM is applied to calculate the stress and deformation of propeller blade. The fair agreements between the results of the present method and ANSYS/Workbench demonstrate its robust and the feasibility, and also the method is able to produce smooth gradient field. The blade stress and deformation distributions for five load cases are studied, and then the strength of the whole blade is checked.

마찰계수와 재료강도를 고려한 PSC 박스 거더교의 최적설계 (The Optimum Design for PSC Box Girder Bridges Considering Friction Coefficient and Material Strength)

  • 본 연구는 FSM 공법의 PSC 박스 거더교를 최소경비로 자동 설계하는 최적설계 프로그램을 이용하여 곡률마찰계수와 파상마에 대한 적정한 긴장재의 종류를 찾아내고 향후 긴장재의 연구 개발 방향을 제시하였으며, 사용되는 재료의 강도증진에 대한 연구방향을 제시하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 사용된 최적설계 프로그램은 축차 무제약 최소화 기법을 이용하였고, 설계과정에서 설계점들이 설계가능 영역밖에 있는 것을 허용할 수 있도록 Kavlie가 제안한 확장 벌칙함수를 도입하였다. 또한 설계점들의 탐사 방법은 Powel's direct search method를 사용하며, 설계시간을 단축시키기 위해 설계점 변화에 따른 단면력 변화를 Gradient를 이용하여 근사화 시키는 방법을 사용하였다.
