This study examined the relationships of store preference with perceived store attributes and consumers' individual characteristics and the impacts of shopping situations on actual store choice. Data were obtained from an on-site questionnaire survey to a convenience sample of young consumers. A total of 456 responses was analyzed. Based on store preference and store choice, respondents were divided into four preference(or choice) groups of: Independent fashion specialty store; Independent general fashion store; Department store and Brand-franchised store. MANOVA, ANOVA and $\chi$$^2$ analyses revealed that there were significant differences among 4 store preference groups on 3 store attribute factors(price, promotion, and merchandise & displays), fashion involvement, perceived financial risk and 5 demographic characteristics(age, gender, marital status, education and spending). Also, there were significant differences among 4 store choice groups on 3 shopping situations the respondents had experienced. Based on the results, the study provided a profile of each store preference group and marketing implications.
The Study to verify the relations between the store choice behavior and the interior environmental image. the point of view is that the image of store affects the behavior of customers when they choose the store for shopping. The method used for this study is library survey for constructing the store choice model and the field survey for veryfying the model. The store choice behavior of customers occurs according to the procedure : environment exposure-development of cognitive structure-image developing by the emotional response-attitude decision- purchasing. The group which showed the affirmative response to the emvironmental design aspects also showed the high affirmative response to the store image. As the role of retail stores in distribution channels becomes more significant and competition among them becomes more fierce, retail stores are making efforts to gain a dominant position in market share. And as such, consumer store choice behaviour is becoming more diverse and complex. The purpose of this study was to analysis the store choice process and to aid in understanding the types of store choice behaviors. 30 subjects were sampled by focus sampling and investigated by in-depth interview. Some consumers went through all stages of store choice process and others skipped some. The consumers who usually had no plan to visit stores and who purchase without problem recognition process were categorized as opportunity-taking type, and the consumers who visited just one store without external search of other store information were categorized as store-loyal type. Finally, the consumers who searched store information externally were divided into brand-oriented type and value-seeking type. The brand-oriented type represented the consumers who did not evaluate stores in detail because which store to visit was decided on brand; and the value-seeking type represented the consumers who did in fact evaluate stores in more detail according to the items and trends in fashion. This study is meaningful in that it provides a dynamic store choice process and examines related variables thereto.
The purpose of this study was to examine the consumer's importance of store attributes and store choice behavior according to the shopping orientations and gender. The data were collected via a questionnaire from students who were attending in Semyung University in Chechoen. The results were analyzed by factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, cluster analysis, χ²-test, Duncan-test, ANOVA, t-test and multiple regression. The results of this study were as follows; 1 . According to the shopping orientations, consumers were classified into six groups. Each group differed in perferring store attributes and store choice behavior. 2. The significant differences were found in the importance of store attributes and shopping orientations according to the gender. 3. Additionally, importance of store attributes were affected by gender and shopping orientations.
We investigated the consumer behavior of store choice using consumer panel data. The NBD-Dirichlet model known to be predictive of the consumer's brand choice was also found to be well fitted for the store choice behavior. From quantitative analysis clothing shopping orientations were factor analyzed. which resulted in eight factors ; Recreational Shopping Convenience Shopping. Sensibility Seeking Well-Known Brand Preference Fashion Seeking Economic Shopping Sel-confidence in clothing shopping Convenient store shopping. 2. The results of store choice criteria study were as follows: As a result of concentrative observation eight store choice criteria dimensions were categorized : Service Store Atmosphere Promotion/Facilities Product Convenience Advertisement VMD Traffic/Location Convenience. From quantitative analysis eight store choice criteria factors emerged; Service Store Atmosphere Promotion/Facilities Assortment Shopping Convenience Advertisement VMD Traffic/Location Convenience. 3. According to the factor scores of recreational shopping and Convenience shopping consumers were segmented into four shopper types ; High Shopping-involved Shopper Recreational Shopper Convenience Shopper and Low Shopping-involved Shopper. Department types were divided into a large enterprise department stores and local department stores. Consumer characteristics such as clothing shopping orientations store choice criteria purchase behavior variables and demographic variables were significantly different in shopper types and department store types were significantly different in clothing shopping orientations and tore choice criteria.

The purposes of this study was to demonstrate the influence of fashion life-style, self-image and situational factors on consumer's apparel store choice for satisfaction of varied needs and high efficiency of marketing activity. A questionnaire was developed to measure research subjects based on theoretical study empirically. The questionnaire was administered to 270 women aged between 20 and 30 in Seoul. The results analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, x2-test and oneway-anova. The results of empirical studies were summarized as follows: 1. Segmented groups of fashion life-style were classified practical/planning group, fashion- leader group, and shopping-oriented group. And store types which were prefered by those groups were department store/shopping center. 2. Segmented groups of self-image were classified actual-seeking group, modernity group and confidence group. And store types which were prefered by those groups were department store/shopping center. The Forecast of store choice on the base of self.image was showed that customers choose the store incongruous with self-image. But when it was analyzed each actual store choice. The Choice of high frequancy was congruous with self-image except for a specialty store/brand named outlet. 3. The significant differences could be found in choice of the store under particular purchase situations and especially at department stores and specialty store, their preference tended to be stronger as the degree of the store's involvement was hightened, but in the case of the generalization stores and the permanent discount stores, even though the degree of that involvement was low, their preference showed the same tendency.
This study is designed to identify the dimensions of clothing shopping motives and clothing involvements which influence consumers' store choice behaviors and to find out what variables have a direct influence on the attitudes of customers toward stores. The empirical research was made through the survey on 300 female and male shoppers who purchased clothing. The major results of this study are as follows : 1. The dimension of clothing shopping motives is composed of leisure-related shopping motive, products-related shopping motive, and economy-related shopping motive. And the dimension of clothing involvement consists of pleasure involvement factor, fashion involvement factor, and symbol involvement factor. 2. The dimension of the store choice criteria is composed of such five factors as promotion, products, prices/salespersons, service, and location. 3. There is a positive correlation of the products-related shopping factor and the leisure-related shopping motive only. And the store choice criteria have a positive correlation with all the factors of clothing involvement. 4. The high-shopping-motive group turns out to pay more importance to such factors as products and location than the low-shopping-motive group. 5. The variables which have influences on the attitudes of customers toward stores tum out to be such factors as fashion involvement, promotion in the store choice criteria, and gender.
This study was designed to examine the consumers' fashion store choice process based on the wedding dress stores, and also to find the consumers' shopping orientation and store attributes affects to store choice process. This study adapted a survey method. Each 48 wedding dress stores in Ahyun-dong and Kangnam were selected, and 325 women who got married within 2 years ago were recruited, convenient sampled as the subjects and the survey methodology was used for data collection. And convenience sampling method was used for data collection. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, wedding dress buyers wear classified into four subdivisions by shopping orientation; reputation-oriented group, utility-oriented group, fashion-oriented group, and time-oriented group. Second, there was significant differences in store choice type between shopping orientation group. Third, in case of important ranks on store attributes, evaluation of store attributes for each step-consideration step, visit step and choice step-was revealed to be coherent. Fourth, there was differences in important ranks among each groups. The most important attribute for all the groups was design, but reputation-oriented group raid importance to reputation of store, utility-oriented group and time-oriented group to economy, and fashion-oriented group to variety than other groups. Firth, there was no significant difference in attitude for wedding dress stores by shopping orientation groups and demographic characteristics.
