일부 대학생의 금연의도 및 의도결정요인에 관한 연구 - 계획된 행위이론(Theory of Planned Behavior)에 기초하여 - (A Study on the Intention of Smoking Cessation Behavior and it's Determinants - Based on the Theory of Planned Behavior-)

  • This study was conducted to investigate determinants of intention of smoking cessation behavior. We sampled 204 university student smokers using questionaires and analyzed the data using the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple regression. The results are as follows: 1. The attitudes concerning smoking cessation behavior are related to a student's course of study, religion and is further related to whether or not they tried to stop smoking. The subjective norm is related to smoking cessation recommendations. Perceived behavioral control is related to a growth criterion, the smoking amount and whether or not they have tried to stop smoking. The intention of smoking cessation behavior is related to smoking amount and whether or not they nare tried to stop smoking. 2. Total symptom number is related to smoking amount and smoking period. 3. Total symptom number is related to behavioral belief, attitude, and the intention to stop smoking. In conclusion, it was found that university students smoke far too much, however the intention to stop smoking is very low. Therefore, an intention promoting program of smoking cessation behavior is needed to reduce the smoking rate and relaxation therapy is necessary for in changing health promoting habits.

New algorithm for simulating heat transfer in a complex CPFS (Cable Penetration Fire Stop)

  • In this work the dynamic heat transfer occurring in a cable penetration fire stop system built in the firewall of nuclear power plants is three-dimensionally investigated to develop a test-simulator that can be used to verify effectiveness of the sealants. The dynamic heat transfer can be described by a partial differential equation (PDE) and its initial and boundary conditions. For the shake of simplicity PDE is divided into two parts; one corresponding to the heat transfer in the axial direction and the other corresponding to the heat transfer on the vertical layers. Two numerical methods, SOR (Sequential Over-Relaxation) and FEM (Finite Element Method), are implemented to solve these equations respectively. The axial line is discretized, and SOR is applied. Similarly, all the layers are separated into finite elements, where the time and spatial functions are assumed to be of orthogonal collocation state at each element. The heat fluxes on the layers are calculated by FEM. It is shown that the penetration cable influences the temperature distribution of the fire stop system very significantly. The simulation results are shown in the three-dimensional graphics for the understanding of the transient temperature distribution in the fire stop system.

  • In recent years the recording density of hard disk has been increasing largely due to the decreasing flying height of head. However, as the flying height is decreased the reliability issue becomes ever more critical. This is because the reliability and durability of hard disk is related to the head/disk interaction as the two components come into partial or full contact.   • Steam stop valves of steam turbine in the power plant are at their 100% position and have no movements. Steam control valves, ie governor valves have no movements either at their controlling position on load limit operation. By the way, if there were no change of operation state, steam valves could be sticked mechanically. Because the governor could fail in protecting and controlling steam turbine in case of emergency conditions, the closing test of 100% valve travel must be accomplished periodically for the purpose of testimony of their good conditions. And, As the difference between steam turbine structures exists according to the manufacturer or generation capacity, both steam stop valves and steam control valves differes in structure and operation method. Therefore, it is essential for not only turbine protection but also control for the control engineers to find out composition of steam valves and method of closing test.

  • Tribological investigation of ultra thin film magnetic storage disks which have two different kinds of start/stop zone of laser textured bump disk and mechanically textured disk for before CSS test and after CSS test. To measure surface roughness, height reduction before/after CSS test and obtain accurate topographies, AFM(Atomic Force Microscope) which is most powerful recently has been used. The result of statistical analysis showed that both laser textured bump height and mechanically textured zone height have been reduced about 4~7nm after 15000 cycle CSS test. Using commercial Nano-Indenter, ramping load scratch test has been performed to investigate friction characteristic for laser textured zone and mechanically textured zone before/after CSS test.

  • While trains perform a complete precision stopping control at stop point, it is essential to keep better commuters comfort in prompt. Because a train's brake force tends to increase a brake effort in a low speed and a low brake effort, a brake force in motor cars must be increased to keep better passenger comfort, to control the special braking qua1ities and to prevent the impact of the automatic coupler rather than trailer's, Rail cars must have a special braking process for the train stopping control. In the train stop mode, the train stopping control is designed to start at 20km/h. It starts by Dynamic brake blending, and then finally stops by only the friction. If these process are not exactly activated, the train may fail a complete precision stop. In this report, it studied the electric and friction brake processing during the precious stopping control. To achieve exact test results, the speed reference has to be reduced the calculated difference. In the precision stopping control. the ways of the keeping brake force in motor car was analyzed and some solutions of controling air pressure was brought up by means of direct test in main line, This study was based on line 5 in Seoul Metropolitan subway.

  • 선박에 설치된 크레인은 일반적으로 기둥의 높이가 높고 상대적으로 가는 진동에 취약한 장비이다. 선박 크래인 운전중 비상사태가 발생하여 브레이크를 사용하면 갑작스러운 충격하중에 의해 크레인 포스트에 과도한 진동이 발생하기도 한다. 이러한 진동에 의한 크레인의 안전성을 평가하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구에서는 크레인의 비상정지시 발생하는 충격력을 추정하고 이러한 충격력을 이용하여 크레인에서의 응답과 스트레스에 의한 피로수명을 예측하였다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between cognitive and motor inhibition by comparing muscle activity and ground reaction force during unplanned gait termination according to reaction time measured through the stop-signal task. Methods: Sixteen young adults performed a stop-signal task and an unplanned gait termination separately. The subjects were divided into fast and slow groups based on their stop-signal reaction time (SSRT), as measured by the stop-signal task. Electromyography (EMG) and ground reaction force (GRF) were compared between the groups during unplanned gait termination. The data for gait termination were divided into three phases (Phase 1 to 3). The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare spatiotemporal gait parameters and EMG and GRF data between groups. Results: The slow group had significantly higher activity of the tibialis anterior in Phase 2 and Phase 3 than the fast group (p <0.05). In Phase 1, the fast group had significantly shorter time to peak amplitude (TPA) of the soleus than the slow group (p <0.05). In Phase 2, the TPA of the tibialis anterior was significantly lower in the fast group than the slow group (p <0.05). In Phase 3, there was no significant difference in the GRF between the two groups (p >0.05). There were no significant difference between the two groups in the spatiotemporal gait parameters (p >0.05). Conclusion: Compared to the slow group, the fast group with cognitive inhibition suppressed muscle activity for unplanned gait termination. The association between SSRT and unplanned gait termination shows that a participant's ability to suppress an incipient finger response is relevant to their ability to construct a corrective gait pattern in a choice-demanding environment.

VOT in the Surface Distinction of Korean Plain and Tense Stops in Initial Position: A Perception Test

  • This paper tests whether the VOT (Voice Onset Time) contributes to the perception of tense and plain stops in Korean in the initial position. Previous studies have yielded opposite results regarding the role of the VOT in the distinction of these two stop categories. One the one hand, Lisker and Abramson (1964), Kim (1965), and Han and Weitzman (1970) suggest that the Korean plain and tense stops exhibit overlapping values of VOT and thus that, unlike many other languages, the VOT fails to serve as a cue to separate these stop categories. On the other hand, Silva (1991, 1992), and Lee (1991, 1994) use similar methods, but find that the VOT serve as the cue. In this study, the differences in the acoustic measurement with respect to the VOT of Korean plain and tense stops in initial prevocalic position will be tested preceptually, in seeking to determine whether these acoustic differences are used by listeners to distinguish these two stop types.

한국인의 힌디어 폐쇄음 인식 (Korean Speakers' Perception of Hindi Stop Consonants)

  • The two specific research questions pursued in this paper are: (i) how Korean speakers perceive Hindi stops in terms of the three laryngeal categories of Korean stops; (ii) how well Korean speakers do with an ABX perception test that utilizes a total of 52 Hindi minimal pairs where all sounds are identical except for the laryngeal features of a stop in each word. A total of 45 university students participated in this experiment. The results showed that (i) Koreans tended to perceive Hindi voiceless unaspirated stops as Korean fortis ones, voiceless aspirated stops as aspirated ones, voiced stops as lenis ones, and breathy stops as aspirated ones, and (ii) Koreans had difficulty in distinguishing between voiceless aspirated and breathy stops in Hindi.
