  • Porous concrete is used of various parts by advantage of porous. Example of growing of plant is possible, and dwelling of creature, and filter functions of various contaminant, and decrease of noise, and so on. This research is for porous concretes that were used by four aggregate rubble, refreshing aggregate, expanded clay, orchid stone. This research estimate that physical and mechanical characteristics of fresh concrete and hardened concrete. The purpose of this research is to make environment-friendly porous concrete. This research's conclusion is as following : 1. Porous Concrete's slump was measured 12~14cm with rubble, 12~16cm with refreshing aggregate, 11~13cm with expanded clay, 11~13cm with orchid stone. Weight of aggregate was bigger, slump price appeared by bigger thing. Because placed Porous Concrete is low viscosity and small resistance between aggregate, it estimated that have high workability. 2. Porous Concrete's unit weight was measured 1.71~1.75t/$\textrm{m}^3$ with rubble, 1.58~1.62t/$\textrm{m}^3$ with refreshing aggregate, 1.19~1.20t/$\textrm{m}^3$ with expanded clay, 0.98~1.06t/$\textrm{m}^3$ with orchid stone. Showed aspect such as weight of aggregate. 3. Porous Concrete's compressive strength was measured 76~102kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ with rubble, 51~60kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ with refreshing aggregate, 30~40kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ with expanded clay, 13~16kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ with orchid stone. 4. Tendency of tensile strength and bending strength showed generally similarly with compressive strength, but showed low value fewer than 15kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ Therefore, wire mesh, reinforcing rod, such as establishment of frame is considered to need in reinforcement about tensility or flexures in case receive tensility or produce product of thin absence form. It concludes by speculating on the consequences of extrapolating the results of study to remodelling the office building being already existence.

  • The industrial waste is becoming a big problem in the aspect of spatial and environmental in domestic and international. Therefore, the waste reduction and recycling policy has been being implemented as a way to solve this problem. The engineered stone sludge, which is waste, is generated duing the engineered stone production process. since engineered stone sludge is mostly treated by landfill, an increase in the amount of the sludge leads to an increase in landfill sites and treatment costs. therefore, there is a need for a method of resourcization with engineered stone sludge. So, laboratory tests (Plastic and liquid limits, compaction, unconfined compression and permeability test) were conducted to confirm the possibility of using engineered stone sludge mixed with weathered granite soil as a cover material for landfill in this study. The result shows that the mixed soil material with less that 62.5% of engineered stone sludge can be used as a cover material for landfill.

  • This paper presents the results of numerical investigation on support mechanism of geogrid-encased stone columns for use in soft ground. A number of cases were analyzed using a axial-and 3D stress-pore pressure coupled model that can effectively model construction sequence and drainage as well as reinforcing effects of geogrid-encased stone columns. The results indicated that the geogrid encasement tends to significantly improve the load carrying of a stone column. Also revealed was that such a confinement effect depends on encasement length and stiffness of geogrid. It is also shown that there exist critical encasement length and stiffness of geogrid for a given condition.

  • Even though a number of historic structures in Korea need to be repaired, an intensive research on their engineering performance has rarely been investigated. Herein, we attempted to provide a methodological approach via the explicit finite element analysis to investigate geotechnical aspect of the performance of the dry-stone wall structures. To do so, we summarized relevant literature on the world-wide historic stone structures as well as its analysis in terms of modern geotechnical engineering. The method of the explicit finite element analysis has been briefly summarized. The numerical results on an idealized block structure show that the displacement of blocks and the distribution of earth pressure is different from the conventional theory of the retaining wall because of the discrete nature of the dry-stone wall structure.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the design & construction methods of the traditional landscape space of the past and the repair and maintenance of cultural heritages to maintain it today. To this end, the method of narrative description, process extraction and construction related to traditional landscaping were compared to each other based on the 『Imwongyeongjeji』 「Seomyongji」 and 'Standard Specification for Repairing Cultural Heritages'. The results are as follows; First, to analyze at the description methods of the 『Imwongyeongjeji』 「Seomyongji」 and 'Standard Specification for Repairing Cultural Heritages' and related processes in the field of traditional landscaping. 『Imwongyeongjeji』 「Seomyongji」 was an encyclopedia of the overall construction method of the living space, describing the location, effect, and advantages and disadvantages of each component and presenting quantitative figures to institutionalize the construction of traditional landscaping spaces. 'Standard Specification for Repairing Cultural Heritages' presented the entire process of repairing cultural heritages, and it is becoming a kind of guide for reference at the site. Among them, foundation construction, roof construction, landscape construction, and fence construction were drawn as items that could be applied to traditional landscaping areas. Second, the traditional landscape space construction method was divided into the processes of foundation construction, roof construction, landscaping construction, and fence construction. Foundation construction is a way of repeating the process of land-tramping. During the construction of the roof, the tile-roofed building was built on top of the rafters and roofed with tiles. And thatched roof was made to a number of rice straws bundles to cover the roof one after the other. Instead of tiles, the stone roof was made of thin and wide stones, and the wooden boards were used for the single roof and the bark roof were constructed with many layers of dried corrugations. Landscape construction mainly consists of the Paving technique through tramping rubble and the construction of terraced flower by planting stone, plants, and shrubs on the top. According to the building materials, the wall construction was derived from the earth-stacked earthen wall, stone walls using stone and clay, marble walls made of tile patterns, and the construction of a board wall using a wood board as a wall. Third, comparing the construction methods of the 『Imwongyeongjeji』 「Seomyongji」 and 'Standard Specification for Repairing Cultural Heritages', 『Imwongyeongjeji』 「Seomyongji」 focuses on standardizing the construction methods to create a new traditional space. There is a difference in the setting of the scope of the 『Imwongyeongjeji』 「Seomyongji」 and the construction because 'Standard Specification for Repairing Cultural Heritages' provides the overall construction procedure considering the diversity of the cultural heritages. In addition, the traditional landscape space used to be a residential space in the past, but today, the maintenance process of the already established facilities as designated cultural heritages has been carried out, and construction methods have been added to create viewing conditions. In terms of the succession of traditional knowledge, some similar methods were found in the repair of cultural assets today, and some cases were also confirmed in the reconstruction of traditional technologies such as application of some materials or mix, separation of added facilities and introduction of efficient construction methods.

  • Based from the results of various field and laboratory tests, it was determined that VCCP(Vibrated Crushed-stone Compaction Pile) Method is more effective compared to SCP(Sand Compaction Pile) Method. VCCP method effectively increases soil bearing capacity and reinforces soil and slopes, prevents liquefaction, enhances drainage. But when it comes to the engineering design these factors are not considered, instead designs are performed using practical methods and equations. Furthermore, this method is very economical since crushed stone can be used instead of sand and it can be also used in off-shore construction. In this paper, it will be synthetically considered technical state at the present time, research object after this and necessity of research for VCCP Method.
