The purpose of this study was to identify the self-awareness of smartphone dependence among undergraduate students and their response to the same. The data was drawn from a survey on smartphone overdependence conducted by the Ministry of Science and information and communications technology (ICT) and the National Information Society Agency in 2017. The responses of 1,735 undergraduate students were analyzed by frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, minimum-maximum value, 2-test, independent t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results indicated that 22.3% of participants were at risk of smartphone dependence, and 63.6% of them were unaware of their dependence on smartphones. The perception of smartphone dependence was significantly associated with a higher risk of smartphone dependence (=.35, p=.000) and the increasing use of applications such as games (=.19, p=.000), television/video (=.11, p=.000), and learning (=.11, p=.000). Of the participants with dependence awareness, only a few knew about the existence of centers to prevent smartphone and internet dependence. Moreover, they rarely utilized these centers. However, the participants felt the need for more counseling agencies (26.8%), programs for dealing with oneself (23.2%), information about smartphone dependence (14.9%), and help to overcome dependence (10.9%). These findings show the need to establish public services so that students can easily access correct information on smartphone dependence and address this problem.

Recently, climate change has gradually accelerated the occurrence of landslides. Among the various effects caused by landslides, debris flow is recognized as particularly threatening because of its high speed and propagating distance. In this study, the impacts of various factors were analyzed using quantification theory(I) for the prediction of debris flow hazard soil volume in Seoraksan National Park, Korea. According to the range using the stepwise regression analysis, the order of impact factors was as follows: vertical slope (0.9676), cross slope (0.6876), altitude (0.2356), slope gradient (0.1590), and aspect (0.1364). The extent of the normalized score using the five-factor categories was 0 to 2.1864, with the median score being 1.0932. The prediction criteria for debris flow occurrence based on the normalized score were divided into four grades: class I, >1.6399; class II, 1.0932-1.6398; class III, 0.5466-1.0931; and class IV, <0.5465. Predictions of debris flow occurrence appeared to be relatively accurate (86.3%) for classes I and II. Therefore, the prediction criteria for debris flow will be useful for judging the dangerousness of slopes.

Purpose: When patients with early gastric cancer (EGC) undergo non-curative endoscopic submucosal dissection requiring gastrectomy (NC-ESD-RG), additional medical resources and expenses are required for surgery. To reduce this burden, predictive model for NC-ESD-RG is required. Materials and Methods: Data from 2,997 patients undergoing ESD for 3,127 forceps biopsy-proven differentiated-type EGCs (2,345 and 782 in training and validation sets, respectively) were reviewed. Using the training set, the logistic stepwise regression analysis determined the independent predictors of NC-ESD-RG (NC-ESD other than cases with lateral resection margin involvement or piecemeal resection as the only non-curative factor). Using these predictors, a risk-scoring system for predicting NC-ESD-RG was developed. Performance of the predictive model was examined internally with the validation set. Results: Rate of NC-ESD-RG was 17.3%. Independent pre-ESD predictors for NC-ESD-RG included moderately differentiated or papillary EGC, large tumor size, proximal tumor location, lesion at greater curvature, elevated or depressed morphology, and presence of ulcers. A risk-score was assigned to each predictor of NC-ESD-RG. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for predicting NC-ESD-RG was 0.672 in both training and validation sets. A risk-score of 5 points was the optimal cut-off value for predicting NC-ESD-RG, and the overall accuracy was 72.7%. As the total risk score increased, the predicted risk for NC-ESD-RG increased from 3.8% to 72.6%. Conclusions: We developed and validated a risk-scoring system for predicting NC-ESD-RG based on pre-ESD variables. Our risk-scoring system can facilitate informed consent and decision-making for preoperative treatment selection between ESD and surgery in patients with EGC.

Purpose: This study was a descriptive study to investigate on the effect of calling, self-efficacy, workplace bullying on retention intention among nurses in small and medium-sized hospitals. Methods: The research subjects were 224 nurses selected through convenient sampling from among those who have worked six months or longer in seven small and medium-sized hospitals located in G City. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire from July 17 to 30, 2018. The data was analyzed by descriptive statics, a t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. As a measuring tool, Calling was the Calling & Vocational Questionnaire (CVQ) developed by Dik, Eldrige and Steger (2008). Self-efficacy was developed by Sherer et al. (1982) and modified by Jeong Ae-soon (2007). Workplace bullying was developed by Einarsen, Raknes and Matthiesen (1994) in the Norwegian Negative Behavioral Experience Questionnaire (NAQ), and by Nam Woong et al. (2010). The retention intention was to use NRI (Nurses' Retention Index) developed by Cowin (2002) as a tool for Kim Min-jung (2006). Results: Factors affecting nurses' retention were analyzed. The analysis showed that retention intention was positively affected by self-efficacy (β=.24, p<.001), sense of calling (β=.23, p<.001) and annual wage (β=.21, p=.001) and negatively affected by workplace bullying (β=-.16, p=.008) on a statistically significant level, with an explanatory power of 28.6%.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to confirm the relationship between dietary self-efficacy, physical self-efficacy, and parental rearing attitudes considering obese children from the vulnerable class that utilized Community Child Care (CCC) centers. Methods In this study, sampling was conducted and 126 children from the vulnerable class who visited 11 regional children's centers located in A city, K province were chosen. The collected data was analyzed using t-test and ANOVA using the SPSS Window 22.0. The Pearson's Correlation coefficient was determined through multiple regression analysis. Results Obesity factors of vulnerable children included dietary efficacy, parents' parenting attitude, family type, single-parent family, parental obesity. Parental obesity held the greatest explanatory power of these variables, as 32% of the vulnerable children had at least one obese parent. Conclusion It is suggested that it is necessary to develop a nursing intervention strategy in which children and parents can participate in consideration of the environmental factors, such as parental attitude and family type of vulnerable children visiting Community Child Care (CCC) centers in the future.

The aim of this study was to identify factors that affect the treatment duration and to predict the duration of forced eruption in impacted maxillary canines using panoramic radiographs and cone-beam computed tomography. This retrospective study was performed by reviewing medical records and radiographs of 73 patients (93 impacted maxillary canines) from the age of 8 to 18 years who were treated with surgical and orthodontic interventions on impacted maxillary canines from January 2012 to December 2020 in Ajou University Dental Hospital. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that the distance between the canine cusp tip and the occlusal plane, mesio-distal location, bucco-palatal location, patient's age, and use of rapid palatal expansion are significant factors with regard to the duration of forced eruption. There was a statistically significant correlation of the treatment duration with the angulation between the axis of the canine and the occlusal plane and unilateral or bilateral impaction. It can be concluded that the duration of forced eruption in impacted maxillary canines could be shorter when the impacted canine is closer to the occlusal plane and located in the lateral incisor or canine area, buccal or middle, the patient is younger and uses rapid palatal expansion.
This purpose of this study was to survey state-anxiety, depression and resilience in female high school students and to identify factors influencing resilience. Data were collected 177 female high school students. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, t-test, Scheffe's test, Stepwise Regression Analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient. The mean score of state-anxiety was 39.56±11.37. There was statistically significant difference in state-anxiety on variable such as academic achievement, satisfaction of school life, parental rearing attitudes, satisfaction of family life. The mean score of depression was 7.53±8.52. There were statistically significant difference in depression on variables such as relationship with school fellow, satisfaction of school life, parental rearing attitudes, satisfaction of family life. The mean score of resilience was 98.36±17.76. There was statistically significant difference in resilience on variables such as academic achievement, parental rearing attitudes, Resilience was negatively correlated with state-anxiety. Resilience was negatively correlated with depression. Self-esteem was positively correlated with depression. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression with SPSS/Win program. Results: The prevalence of depression was 43.8%, the mean score of depression was 6.37. Depression of the elderly significantly correlated with education level, types of the health insurance, economic levels, smoking, hypertension, arthritis, incontinence, life satisfaction, perceived health status and cognitive function. Stepwise multiple regression analysis reveled that a combination of life satisfaction, cognitive function and health insurance accounted for 67.6% of depression in elderly. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that the approach to effective depression prevention and management program for community-dwelling elderly should consider life satisfaction, physical and mental health and economic levels.
In this study, in order to understand the social psychological characteristics of college male students majoring in beauty, PAI tests were conducted on 163 university students located in Gyeonggi-do and Chungnambuk area in 2020. First, when comparing the average scales of men who majored in beauty and men who majored in general, the major male students of beauty showed an overall high clinically recognized type compared to students who majored in beauty, and a negative impression on a valid scale (NIM) considered treatment for physical complaints (SOM), depression (DEP) and drinking problems (ALC) on a clinical scale, and a significant difference was shown on a suicide idea (SUI) scale. Secondly, in order to navigate the PAI scale that significantly predicts beauty major male students, a stepwise regression analysis was performed using 15 significant scales as search factors in comparison between beauty major male and general major male students. As a result, physical complaints (SOM) and depression (DEP) scales were extracted, which became a factor that can predict male students in beauty major. Therefore, it can be understood that the male students in the beauty major have behavior patterns that are more obsessed with and more impulsive to physical problems than the male majors. These results will provide a lot of suggestions for the selection of future male students in beauty major, selection, management, education, consultation materials, and selection of occupations after graduation.
