  • The purpose of the present study is to examine the degree to which the writing instruction using animations has effects on the writing performance of $4^{th}$ year elementary school students. This study also examined the effects of the animation-based writing instruction on the interest and confidence of those students. To this aim, the present study utilized a set of writing tests and questionnaires before and after the instruction. The data were collected from 63 elementary school students. The data were then analyzed using a series of statistical analyses. The results suggested that the students who received the writing instruction using animations performed significantly better on the writing test than those who received the textbook-based instruction. The results also suggested that those who received the animation-based instruction showed more positive interest and confidence on English and English learning. Finally, limitations of the present study and suggestions for further studies are discussed at the end of the paper.

  • This study uses financial statements on several hundred companies listed in the Korea Stock Market to analyze trends in inventory turnover ratios and examine the effect of inventory performance on the profitability of the companies. Statistical analyses are done to determine if there have been significant changes in inventory turnover ratios and how turnover ratio pattern varied by factors such as industry, size of the firm, and the effectiveness of previous inventory management. Inventory turnover ratios decreased for four consecutive years and were found to vary by industry. Also it is proved that there was statistically significant relationship between the size of the firm and the average level of inventory as a fraction of sales. Regression analysis is done to investigate the relationship between the inventory management performance and profitability of companies and it is found that improvement in inventory level affected profitability of the companies.

  • The Buyeo-Cheongyang area, in the south-western area of Gyeonggi massif, comprises Precambrian and Mesozoic metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. The original rock of metamorphic rocks was studied by geochemical examination and statistical analyses of the trace elements in the gneisses, schists, shale and granitic rocks. Average abundance of Cu,Cr,Pb,Ni,Co,Mn,Li and Zn elements from gneisses have similar to those from shale and schists. However the gneisses have higher Cr,Ni,Co,Mn,Li abundance than those from the granite. Abundance range and frequency distribution of the trace elements in the gneiss show a marked trend sedimentary origin, that is, standard deviation have far the higer than that of igneous origin. Also it is wide dispersion and irregularly distribution. For that reason, this gneiss is regard as sedimentary original rocks with schists.

  • Demographic transition drives changes in consumer demand for food products. This study examines how rising incomes and population trends affect spending on food purchased for home. The objective of this study is to characterize the relationships between selected socio-demographic factors and food selection among South Korean households. Panel data from Rural Development Administration (RDA) in South Korea in 2010 was used (n=971). Household food purchases were classified into one of the five food groups from Composition of Foods of RDA. Multiple regression analysis was used to analyze the effects of household size and income based on the expenditure share on each food group. All statistical analyses were performed using SAS/ PC version 9.3. Results show that household socio- demographic characteristics have a strong influence on food purchasing, with the purchase of vegetables and fruit, and processed food and pre-packaged being particularly sensitive.

  • This study aims to understand the determinants and effects of SNS photo sharing on festival satisfaction among teenage festivalgoers, to derive strategies that festival organizers could employ to maintain long-term relationships with their audience. In this paper, we followed the festival attribute and SNS photo sharing behavior approaches for developing measurement constructs, by investigating previous related studies. Statistical analyses revealed that festival attributes positively impact consumer perceptions of festival value, which in turn influences SNS photo sharing behavior and festival satisfaction. In addition, SNS photo sharing behavior has a significant mediation effect on the process. Moreover, the differing intensities of SNS usage among the festivalgoers resulted in consumers presenting significantly different SNS photo sharing behavior. Our findings offer insights for marketers in the festival business who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the behavior of teenage festivalgoers.

Those attributes of industrial accidents were usually analyzed independently, so that it was hard to provide a systematic guidelines for efficient safety management. Therefore, there were a few of studies based on comprehensive survey results in terms of characteristics of safety management. This study aimed to figure out the characteristics of current safety management and to provide a guideline for ideal safety management in industry. The questionnaire survey carried out for the workers(695) who were in charge of safety management at their industries. The multivariate analyses as well as descriptive statistical analysis were conducted. The factor analysis showed that there were three factors of safety management. They were 1) investment and management for accident prevention, 2) safety manager, and 3) general health and environmental condition. The industries of respondents were clustered into three groups. Three groups showed a statistically significant differences on the number of cases reported and the trends of accident. • Identifying benefit from IT spending is of great concern to most firms in today's competing world. Cost-benefit analysis of IT spending can be conducted when firms have systematic management process of IT spending and the supporting data. This paper examined Korean firm's management process of IT spending, and proposes the best practice. Management process of IT spending and the definition of IT expense and investment were proposed based on the best practice. A proposition that "IT expenses and investments need to be distinguished to manage IT spending effectively' was proposed. Hypotheses were generated and tested with empirical data. Statistical analyses show that ratios of IT investment to IT expense were significantly different during the study period. The results of the study imply that firms can acquire useful information by distinguishing IT expense and investment in the management process of IT spending.

  • Purpose - This work aims to study the existing management process and methods of statistical evaluation of personnel mobility management, and propose improvement measures. This is particularly relevant in today's market economy because proper organization of personnel movement affects the availability and effective utilization of human resources in enterprises. Hence, it influences the volume, timely execution of work, equipment efficiency, and consequently the volume of production, its cost, profit, and other economic indicators. Research design, data, and methodology - We investigate the indicators that measure staff mobility, and their dependent consequences. Further, it analyses the factors influencing high staff turnover, which is a main indicator of staff mobility. Results - Measures for staff mobility development and prevention of turnover are proposed. Micom Systems is a sample case that has developed special programs to reduce staff turnover. Conclusions - Staff mobility leads to additional costs, significant loss of working time, and increase in defects. However, the advantages of staff mobility outweigh these negative factors. The role of staff mobility in a market economy cannot be overestimated.

  • In this paper, we proposed some valuable analysis results of cultivation campaign marketing in A mobile telephone company. The cultivation campaign marketing is a new outbound TM campaign strategy composed of 4 steps for new subscribers. During the analyses, attrition rate of A mobile company, outbound TM rejection rate, contact rate/call success rate and additional service attrition rate after subscription are measured as an effect of cultivation campaign. The results showed that there were no statistical significance in improving retention rate between customers experienced 4 step cultivation campaign and control group. However, the cultivation campaign had a better effect on improving response rate and success of selling additional service product of mobile company compared to general selling campaign. This is because cultivation campaign group had been taking care of from subscription time. It is suggested that cultivation campaign had better confined customers more likely to buy additional service to outbound TM for the sake of financial efficiency.
