A study on the optimal feedback control using a microcomputer (마이크로 컴퓨터를 이용한 최적 피이드백 제어에 관한 연구)

  • Recently microcomputers have come into wide use in the field of control. They are used not only as monitors and or controllers in various plant control systems but also for Computer Aided Design of control systems. In this paper, authors propose a method to design the reduced order observers for the higher order systems and have digital simulation of time responses of the optimal state feedback control system using the maximum principle. And the real time optimal state feedback control system for the third order plant which is realized by an anolog computer is constructed by means of a microcomputer, A/D converter and D/A converter. Time responses of the real time control system are compared with those obtained by the digital simulation and their well coincedence is confirmed.

Output feedback receding horizon control for uncertain LTV systems

  • In this paper, a robust receding horizon controller for uncertain linear time-varying systems is presented in the dynamic output-feedback form. The existing output-feedback receding horizon controller in the literature is composed of a state observer and a static controller associated with the observer states (similar to LQC control), where the fundamental assumption is that the state observer will supply the exact states as time goes up. The performance of those controllers may be much degraded and even the closed-loop stability may not be guaranteed when the system suffers from disturbances and uncertainties or is time-varying. The proposed controller, which is not necessary to have the state-observer, overcomes such difficulties.   • 2 DOF half-car model with 6 semi-active suspension units is utilized to evaluate the tracked vehicle dynamic performance simulated by several suspension control algorithms. The target of this research is to improve the ride comfort to maintain operator's handling capability when the tracked vehicle travels fast on the rough road. The control algorithms for suspension systems, such as full state feedback active, full state feedback semi-active, sky-hook active, sky-hook semi-active, and on-off systems, are evaluated and analyzed in view point of ride comfort. The dynamic performances of vehicle are expressed and evaluated by vibratory characteristic evaluation curves, performance indices and frequency characteristic curves. The simulation results show that the performances of sky-hook algorithms for ride comfort nearly follow those of full state feedback algorithms and on-off algorithm is recommendatory when the vehicle runs relatively fast.

  • This paper considers a state set estimation (SSE) based model predictive control (MPC) for linear parameter- varying (LPV) systems with input constraint. We estimate, at each time instant, a feasible set of all states which are consistent with system model, measurements and a priori information, rather than the state itself. By combining a state-feedback MPC and an SSE, we design an SSE-based MPC algorithm that stabilizes the closed-loop system. The proposed algorithm is solved by semi-de�nite program involving linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is included to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

  • The purpose of this study is to design an anti-sway motion for industrial overhead cranes which transport objects on a horizontal plane by adjusting movements of a trolley motor and a girder motor. The movement of a hoist motor has not been considered at this time since its role was assumed to move objects only vertically, therefore, not to affect the swing motion of objects. The dynamic behavior of the swing motion shows nonlinear characteristics, which makes the design of anti-sway motion controller difficult. First of all, the nonlinear state equation for the motion of industrial overhead cranes has been derived. Then they have been linearized about normal operating states determined by the dynamic characteristics of motor motion-acceleration, constant speed, and deceleration, and deceleration, during transportation. The partial state feedback control algorithm based on this linearized state equation has been developed on order to suppress the swing motion. The simulation results have demonstrated satisfactory performance of the proposed controller.

  • This paper presents the design of an optimal state feedback controller for container cranes under some design specifications. To do this, the nonlinear equation of a container crane system is linearized and then augmented to eliminate the steady-state error, and some constraints are derived from the design specifications. Designing the controller involves a constrained optimization problem which classical gradient-based methods have difficulties in handling. Therefore, a real-coding genetic algorithm incorporating the penalty strategy is used. The responses of the proposed control system are compared with those of the unconstrained optimal control system to illustrate the efficiency.

  • Robust control for feedback control system is needed according to the highest precision of industrial automation. However, when a feedback control system has an effect of disturbance, it is very difficult to guarantee the robustness of control system. As a compensation method solving this problem, in this paper, Hybrid control method of feedback and Differential Supervisory controller is presented. A Feedback Controller is operated as a main controller, A Differential Supervisory Controller is a controller which operates only when some undesirable phenomena occur, e. g., when the error hits the boundary of constraint set. The robust control function of Differential Supervisory Controller, as a assistant controller is operated when state is unstable by disturbance. it demonstrated by speed control of motor.

  • Hydraulic systems have severe nonlinearity inherently compared to other systems like electric control systems. Hence, precise modeling and analysis of the hydraulic control systems are not easy. In this study, the control performance of a hydraulic control system with a feedback linearization compensator and a disturbance observer was analyzed through experiments and numerical simulations. This study mainly focuses on the quantitative investigation of sensitivity on system uncertainties in the hydraulic control system. First, the sensitivity on the system uncertainty of the hydraulic control system with a Feedback Linearization - State Feedback Controller (FL-SFC) was quantitatively analyzed. In addition, the efficacy of a disturbance observer coupled with the FL-SFC for the hydraulic control system was verified in terms of overcoming the control performances deterioration owing to system uncertainty.

  • In this paper, we propose a robust indirect adaptive fuzzy state feedback regulator based on Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model. The proposed adaptive fuzzy regulator is less sensitive to singularity than the conventional one based on the feedback linearization method. Furthermore, the proposed control method is applicable to not only plants with a perfect model but also plants with an imperfect model, which causes uncertainties. We verify the global stability of the proposed method by using Lyapunov method. In order to support the achievement, the application of the proposed adaptive fuzzy regulator to the control of a nonlinear system under the external disturbance is presented and the performance was verified by some simulation result.

  • The purposes of this paper are to deal with the design of m-input, m-output linear systems by the state variable feedback, and to extend the design capability of the state variable feedback design. The design requirements are decoupling and the exact realigation of desired transfer functions. Some methods are proposed to insert series compensators in the fixed plant in the cases when series compensators are needed to meet the input-output transfer matrix specification. The method for adding series compensators to the input channels of the fixed plant is shown by examples to lead both to the loss of the ability to decouple the augmented plant by the state variable feedback, and to the loss of desired zeroes. A method which avoids these two hazards is developed in which series compensators are put on the output channels of the fixed plant: it is proved that the augmented plant is F-invariant. By treating each subsystem individually, the designer can apply some of the previous developed knowledge of the state variable design of single-input, single-output systems.
