A Novel Bio-inspired Trusted Routing Protocol for Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks

  • Routing in mobile wireless sensor networks (MWSNs) is an extremely challenging issue due to the features of MWSNs. In this paper, we present a novel bio-inspired trusted routing protocol (B-iTRP) based on artificial immune system (AIS), ant colony optimization (ACO) and Physarum optimization (PO). For trust mechanism, B-iTRP monitors neighbors' behavior in real time and then assesses neighbors' trusts based on AIS. For routing strategy, each node proactively finds routes to the Sink based on ACO. When a backward ant is on the way to return source, it senses the energy residual and trust value of each node on the discovered route, and calculates the link trust and link energy of the route. Moreover, B-iTRP also assesses the availability of route based on PO to maintain the route table. Simulation results show how B-iTRP can achieve the effective performance compared to existing state-of-the-art algorithms.

Design of new sliding mode control system using discrete-time switching dynamics and its stability analysis (이산 시간 스위칭 다이나믹을 이용한 새로운 슬라이딩 모드 제어 시스템의 설계 및 안정도 해석)

  • In this paper we consider the variable structure control for a class of discrete-time uncertain multivariable systems where the nominal system is linear. Discrete-time switching dynamics are introduced so that a new type of state trajectories called sliding mode may exist on the sliding surface by state feedback. The quantitative analysis for the matched uncertainties will show that every response of the system with the proposed switching dynamics is bounded within small neighborhoods of the state-space origin. Also, by the similarity transformation it will be shown that the eigenvalues of the closed-loop systems are composed of those of the subsystems which govern the range-space dynamics and null-space dynamics. It will be also shown that ideal sliding mode can be obtained in the absence of uncertainties due to one-step attraction to the sliding surface regardless of initial position of states.   • The third generation mobile communication needs to provide multimedia service with increased data rates. Thus an efficient allocation of radio and network resources is very important. This paper models the 'burst switching' as an efficient radio resource allocation scheme and the performance is compared to the circuit and packet switching. In burst switching, radio resource is allocated to a call for the duration of data bursts rather than an entire session or a single packet as in the case of circuit and packet switching. After a stream of data burst, if a packet does not arrive during timer2 value ($\tau_{2}$), the channel of physical layer is released and the call stays in suspended state. Again if a packet does not arrive for timerl value ($\tau_{1}$) in the suspended state, the upper layer is also released. Thus the two timer values to minimize the sum of access delay and queuing delay need to be determined. In this paper, we focus on the decision of $\tau_{2}$ which minimizes the access and queueing delay with the assumption that traffic arrivals follow Poison process. The simulation, however, is performed with Pareto distribution which well describes the bursty traffic. The computational results show that the delay and the packet loss probability by the burst switching is dramatically reduced compared to the packet switching.

  • Surface driven switching of the liquid crystal bulk arising from the coupling between an applied electric field and a polarized state of a nematic liquid crystal, both localized at the substrate surface, is reported. Fast switching is demonstrated in a hybrid aligned nematic cell with a fringe electric field generated by comb-like electrode structure.

  • The static state estimation are divided into two groups; estimation and detection & identification. This paper centers on detection and identification algorithm. Especially, the identification of line errors is focused on and is performed by the extended W.L.S. algorithm with line swithching states. Here, line switching states mean the discrete values of line admittance which are influenced by unexpected line switching. The numerical results are obtained from the assumption that the noise vector is independent zero mean Gaussian random variables.

  • This paper presents a technique for reconstructing converter line currents using the information from a single current sensor in the DC-link for voltage-source PWM converters. When three-Phase input currents cannot be reconstructed, three methods to acquire the input current are compared. Two of them are methods of modifying the switching state (I, II), another is a method of using the predictive state observer. Also, compensation of sampling delay, and a simultaneous sample value of input currents in the center of a switching period are included. Suitable criteria for the comparison are identified, and the differences in the performance of these methods are investigated through experimental results for a typical V-S PWM converter rated at 10kVA.

  • Clustering is one of the key technologies in vehicular networks. Constructing and maintaining stable clusters is a challenging task in high mobility environments. DWCM (Distributed and Weighted Clustering based on Mobility Metrics) is proposed in this paper based on the d-hop dominating set of the network. Each vehicle is assigned a priority that describes the cluster relationship. The cluster structure is determined according to the d-hop dominating set, where the vehicles in the d-hop dominating set act as the cluster head nodes. In addition, cluster maintenance handles the cluster structure changes caused by node mobility. The rationality of the proposed algorithm is proven. Simulation results in the NS-2 and VanetMobiSim integrated environment demonstrate the performance advantages.

Design of the Hybrid Controller using the Fuzzy Switching Mode (퍼지 스위칭 모드를 이용한 하이브리드 제어기의 설계)

  • The fuzzy and state-feedback control systems have been applied in various areas from non-linear to linear systems. A Fuzzy controller is endowed with control rules and membership function that are constructed on the knowledge of expert, as like intuition and experience. but It is very difficult to obtain the exact values which are the membership function and consequent parameters. though apply back-propagation algorithm to the system, the convergence time a much. Besides, the state-feedback system is most widely used in industry due to its simple control structure and easily able to design the controller. but it is weak in complex system of higher degree and non-linear. In this paper presents the design of a fuzzy switching mode, it these two controllers work at different operation conditions, the advantages of both controller can be retained and the disadvantages can be removed. Between the Fuzzy and the State-feedback controlles, the good outputs are selected by the switching mode. Moreover it is powerful in complex system of higher degree and non-linear. In these sense compared with the state-feedback controller, the performance of the proposed controller was improvedin the section of linearization.

Effects of Fast Neutron Irradiation on Switching of Silicon Bipolar Junction Transistor

  • Background: When bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) are used as switches, their switching characteristics can be deteriorated because the recombination time of the minority carriers is long during turn-off transient. When BJTs operate as low frequency switches, the power dissipation in the on-state is large. However, when BJTs operate as high frequency switches, the power dissipation during switching transients increases rapidly. Materials and Methods: When silicon (Si) BJTs are irradiated by fast neutrons, defects occur in the Si bulk, shortening the lifetime of the minority carriers. Fast neutron irradiation mainly creates displacement damage in the Si bulk rather than a total ionization dose effect. Defects caused by fast neutron irradiation shorten the lifetime of minority carriers of BJTs. Furthermore, these defects change the switching characteristics of BJTs. Results and Discussion: In this study, experimental results on the switching characteristics of a pnp Si BJT before and after fast neutron irradiation are presented. The results show that the switching characteristics are improved by fast neutron irradiation, but power dissipation in the on-state is large when the fast neutrons are irradiated excessively. Conclusion: The switching characteristics of a pnp Si BJT were improved by fast neutron irradiation.
