  • In this paper, we describe the developing of a tool which supports both multimedia presentation with user's participation through a high speed network and authoring of various media using a single authoring tool. To support real-time synchronous multimedia presentation, we adopt dynamic synchronization method and adaptive transmission algorithm for synchronizing data transfer rate between sender and receiver using buffer management algorithm based on QoS parameters. And we also allow user's participation in the presentation using TRSG(Temporal Relationship Specification Graph) model. Finally, the proposed tool supports the minimal level of QoS and its continuous play-out using event auditing threads which control the current state of a multimedia presentation continuously by monitoring of negative factors effecting on QoS, and synchronization.

  • In this paper, we propose a context-aware system using wireless multi sensor module to monitor the state for industrial factory environment. Wireless multi sensor module combines sensing values which are collected from each acceleration, pressure, temperature and gas sensors. Moreover, it delivers this data to server after being encoded by RS code. Thereafter, RS decoder decodes the values that are received from wireless multi sensor module and fixes errors which occur in wireless communication. Based on decoded data, context-aware algorithm sets critical range and compares it to the sensing values, if the sensing values are out of the range, an event occurs by the algorithm. At the same time, if there is another sensing value which is out of the range for standby time T seconds, the algorithm orders 3 steps-alarm to occur depending on each situation. Through this system, it becomes eventually possible to monitor machines' condition effectively. From the simulation, we confirm that this system is efficient to status monitoring of industrial automation equipment.

  • After the COVID-19 pandemic, the spread of the untact culture and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which generates various types of data, generated so much data that it was not compared to before. This led to higher data throughput, revealing little by little the limitations of the existing network system centered on vendors and hardware. Recently, SDN technology centered on users and software that can overcome these limitations is attracting attention. In addition, SDN-based load balancing techniques are expected to increase efficiency in the load balancing area of the server cluster in the data center, which generates and processes vast and diverse data. Unlike existing SDN load distribution studies, this paper proposes a load distribution technique in which a controller checks the state of a server according to the occurrence of an event rather than periodic confirmation through a monitoring technique and allocates a user's request by weighting it according to a load ratio. As a result of the desired experiment, the proposed technique showed a better equal load balancing effect than the comparison technique, so it is expected to be more effective in a server cluster in a large and packet-flowing data center.

  • This paper introduces a partial discharge (PD) severity metric, S, based on the evaluation of time-sequence PD data capture and resulting Time-Sequence-Analysis Discharge (TSAD) level distributions. Basically based on an IEC60270 measurement technique, each PD event is time stamped and the discharge level noted. By evaluating the time differences between a previous and subsequent discharge, a 3D plot of time-sequence activity and discharge levels can be produced. From these parameters a measurement of severity, which takes into account dynamic or instantaneous variations in both the time of occurrence and the level of discharge, rather than using standard repetition rate techniques, can be formulated. The idea is to provide a measure of the severity of PD activity for potentially measuring the state of insulation within an item of plant. This severity measure is evaluated for a simple point-plane geometry in $SF_{6}$ as a function of gap distance and applied high voltage. The results show that as the partial discharge activity increases, the severity measure also increases. The importance of future investigations, quantifications and evaluations of the robustness, sensitivity and importance of such a severity measurement, as well as comparing it with typical repetition rate assessment techniques, and other monitoring techniques, are also very briefly discussed.

  • More recently, variety RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) readers are produced by RFID equipment manufactures. Although a transmission standard instituted by EPCglobal is proposed for data transmission between the RFID readers and tags, other RFID reader protocols and the communication connection methods are be in use in other RFID companies. To replace or add the RFID readers of an RFID system, the developers should make changes to the core of the application and/or middleware. In this paper, we propose an RFID reader framework which can manage RFID readers without having to make changes the code of the application in environment with the growing number of heterogeneous RFID readers. This framework that sits on the layer between the RFID readers and the applications provides transparency to the RFID readers. Additionally, it can be used for monitoring the state and the property of all connected RFID, and for recording the RFID tag event logs and system logs. By using this framework, heterogeneous readers can be replaced and added without writing additional code in the applications. Consequently the readers can be easily managed and controlled by the RFID system administrator.
