  • It is well known as the role of ion exchange membrane with functional group in membrane matrix. Recently, we were reported that the charged mosaic membrane within parallel array of negative and positive charge groups. In this study we are reported the properties for the various transport coefficients of metal and heavy metal ions across charged mosaic membrane based on non-equilibrium thermodynamics is not based on equilibrium state.

A Study on System Identification using Haar Functions (Haar함수를 이용한 시스템 동정에 관한 연구)

  • This paper deals with applications of Haar functions to parameter identification of linear systems. It is first introuduced to a new operational matrix which relates Haar functions and their integrations. The matrix can be used to identify the parameters of unknown linear systems by a least squares estimation. And then, the state equation of given systems is transformed into a computationally convenient algebraic form. This approach provides a more efficient method for the system identification problem.

  • In this paper, we design the state feedback gain using linear matrix inequality(LMI) to the multiobjective synthesis, in the magnetic bearing system with integral type servo system. The design objectives can be a H$\_$$\infty$/ performance, asymptotic disturbance rejection, time-domain constraints, on the closed-lnp pole location. To the end, we investigated the validity of the designed controller through results of simulation.

  • Absorption and fluorescence studies of E-1-(p-methoxyphenyl)-2-(p-nitrophenyl) ethene in homogeneous solvents, polymer matrix and normal and reverse micelles showing strong solvatochromic fluorescent emission properties with quasi-planar intramolecular charge transfer characteristics in the electronically excited singlet state are discussed.

  • This paper presents sufficient conditions7 for monotonicity of the saddle point value for receding-horizon H$\infty$ control(RHHC). The resulting monotonicity is used to prove the stability of the closed-loop. Under these sufficient conditions the well-known terminal equality condition is handled as a special case and the condition on the state weighting matrix is weakened so as to include even the zero matrix. The whole procedure is much simpler than the previous results and thus is expected to be easily extended for constrained delayed and/or nonlinear systems with the RHHC.

  • A class of singular quadratic control problem is considered. The state is governed by a higher order system of ordinary linear differential equations and very general nonstandard boundary conditions. These conditions in many important cases reduce to standard boundary conditions and because of the conditions the usual controllability condition is not needed. In the special case where the coefficient matrix of the control variable in the cost functional is a time-independent singular matrix, the corresponding optimal control law as well as the optimal controller are computed. The method of investigation is based on the theory of least-squares solutions of multi-valued operator equations.

  • A systematic procedure for determining the elements of system state matrix is suggested. The interrelation of submatrices of the system matrix is investigated. Each element or each block can be represented in algebraic form. These results can be applied in the eigenvalue sensitivity analysis with respect to the changes in controller parameters.

  • We propose an approximate algorithm to analyze the queuing system with n bursty and heterogeneous arrival processes. Each input process is modeled by Interrupted Bernoulli Process(IBP). We approximate N arrival processes by a single state variable and subsequently simplify the transition probability matrix of the Markov chain associated with these N arrival processes. Using this single state variable of arrival processes, we describe the state of the queuing system and analyze the system numerically with the reduced transition probability matrix. We compute the queue length distribution, the delay distribution, and the loss probability. Comparisons with simulation data show that the approximation algorithm has a good accuracy.

Observer Design for A Class of UncertainState-Delayed Nonlinear Systems

  • This paper deals with the observer design problem for a class of state-delayed nonlinear systems with or without time-varying norm-bounded parameter uncertainty. The nonlinearities under consideration are assumed to satisfy the global Lipschitz conditions and appear in both the state and measured output equations. The problem we address is the design of a nonlinear observer such that the resulting error system is globally asymptotically stable. For the case when there is no parameter uncertainty, a sufficient condition for the solvability of this problem is derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities and the explicit formula of a desired observer is given. Based on this, the robust observer design problem for the case when parameter uncertainties appear is considered and the solvability condition is also given. Both of the solvability conditions obtained in this paper are delay-dependent. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.
