  • BACKGROUND: A region can be divided into agroclimatic zones based on homogeneity in weather variables that have greatest influence on crop growth and yield. The agro-climatic zone has been used to identify yield variability and limiting factors for crop growth. This study was conducted to classify agro-climatic zones in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil for predicting crop productivity and assessing crop suitability etc. METHODS AND RESULTS: For agro-climatic zonation, monthly mean temperature, precipitation, and solar radiation data from Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO) of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, USA) between 1980 and 2010 were collected. Altitude and vegetation fraction of Brazil from Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) were also used to classify them. The criteria of agro-climatic classification were temperature in the hottest month ($30^{\circ}C$), annual precipitation (600 mm and 1000 mm), and altitude (200 m and 500 m). The state of Mato Gross in Brazil was divided into 9 agro-climatic zones according to these criteria by using matrix classification method. CONCLUSION: The results could be useful as information for estimating agro-meteorological characteristics and predicting crop development and crop yield in the state of Mato Grosso in Brazil.

  • This research explored the effects of abrasion, laundering, and abrasion/laundering interaction upon wear of 15 durable nonwoven fabrics. Wear was measured in terms of changes in tensile strength and stiffness. The test materials consisted of nine different dry-laid commercial interfacing fabrics of various fiber contents and six spunbonded poyester and polypropylene fabrics. Three fixed levels of abrasion and four fixed levels of laundering made up the 3$\times$4 factorial analysis used for the experiment and the analysis of variance. Findings revealed that abrasion had a greater effect than laundering on strength and stiffness of the tested fabrics. Laundering seemed related to the particular fibers used and to the fixation quality of fiber bonds. Spunbonded webs performed better than dry-laid webs in retaining tensile strength Stiffness change occurred more readily than strength change. Lighter, flexible, stretchable fabrics seemed less easily abraded than heavier, stiff, less stretchable fabrics. The interfacing fabrics of 70/20/$10\%$ nylon/polyester/rayon blends with high crosswise stretchability effectively resisted wear caused by abrasion and laundering. Further research is recommended to study the effects of longer abrasion periods and additional laundering cycles o,1 wear qualities of nonwoven fabrics. Additional factors such as amount and fixation methods of bonding agents, the effect of shear distortion, seam construction, and drycleaning solvents could also be studied.

  • Shallow failures occur frequently in both engineered and natural slopes in expansive soils. Rainfall infiltration is the most predominant triggering factor that contributes to slope failures in both expansive soils and clayey soils. However, slope failures in expansive soils have some distinct characteristics in comparison to slopes in conventional clayey soils. They typically undergo shallow failures with gentle sliding retrogression characteristics. The shallow sliding mass near the slope surface is typically in a state of unsaturated condition and will exhibit significant volume changes with increasing water content during rainfall periods. Many other properties or characteristics change such as the shear strength, matric suction including stress distribution change with respect to depth and time. All these parameters have a significant contribution to the expansive soil slopes instability and are difficult to take into consideration in slope stability analysis using traditional slope stability analysis methods based on principles of saturated soil mechanics. In this paper, commercial software VADOSE/W that can account for climatic factors is used to predict variation of matric suction with respect to time for an expansive soil cut slope in China, which is reported in the literature. The variation of factor of safety with respect to time for this slope is computed using SLOPE/W by taking account of shear strength reduction associated with loss of matric suction extending state-of-the art understanding of the mechanics of unsaturated soils.

  • Monitoring of the drill wear :md hole quality change is conducted during the drilling process. Cutting force measured by tool dynamometer is a evident feature estimating abnormal state of drilling. One major difficulty in using tool dynamometer is that the work-piece must be mounted on the dynamometer, and thus the machining process is disturbed and discontinuous. Acoustic transducer do not disturb the normal machining process and provide a relatively easy way to monitor a machining process for industrial application. for this advantage, AE signal is used to estimate the abnormal fate. In this study vision system is used to detect flank wear tendency and hole quality, there are many formal factors in hole quality decision circularity, cylindricity, straightness, and so of but these are difficult to measure in on-line monitoring. The movement of hole center and increasement of hole diameter is presented to determine hole quality. As the results of this experiment AE RMS signal and measurements by vision system are shorn the similar tendency as abnormal state of drilling.

  • The spectroscopic properties of quercetin (QCT) were studied in the AOT reverse micelle by fluorescence spectroscopy. Because the molecular structure of QCT is completely planar, excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) occurs between the -OH at C(5) and carbonyl oxygen via intramolecular hydrogen bonding. This ESIPT happens at the $S_1$ state but not at the $S_2$ state. Because QCT is a good donor-acceptor-conjugated molecule at the excited state, this molecule can emit strong fluorescence but shows no $S_1{\rightarrow}S_o$ emission due to this ESIPT. Since the $S_2{\rightarrow}S_1$ internal conversion was very slow due to the small Franck-Condon factors, $S_2{\rightarrow}S_o$ fluorescence emission was observed. All of the experimental results indicated that the QCT resided at the bound water interface and that the position of solute did not change significantly in the micelle at various water concentrations.

  • Ukraine has a significant in quantity and unique in quality parameters, in particular, the level of education, a resource - the labor force, which, along with natural resources, can serve as the basis for economic growth and the achievement of sustainable development goals. The study is aimed at a thorough identification of the main factors influencing the formation and use of the labor force in Ukraine, including by comparing with the indicators of the EU countries, before the start of the active phase of military aggression by the Russian Federation. It was found that until February 24, 2022, there were negative trends in the change in the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the labor force due to the demographic crisis, the transformation of the national economy and shortcomings in state regulation of labor market development processes. The military actions not only exacerbated pre-existing problems, but also led to the emergence of new ones. A significant number of refugees and internally displaced persons, with the termination of the activities of half of the economic entities, provoked a sharp increase in real unemployment and a decrease in wages. The specific problem of the labor market of Ukraine - the "labor crisis", which has and will have a significant impact on the labor force, is carefully considered.

  • The change of environmental factors with flow rates were studied quantitatively for two rivers, the Nakdong River and the Sin stream, which have different basins in ecosystem structures, during short period after a heavy rain. In the Nakdong River, transparency, DO, alkalinity and hardness were negatively correlated with the flow rate by logarithmic function, but the concentration of SiO2 was relatively constant regardless of the flow chage. In the Sin stream, transparency, alkalinity, hardness and the concentration of NH3-N, NO2-N and SO4= showed negative correlation with the flow rate by logarithmic function. The ratios of maximum to minimum values for aquatic environmental factors during the samller than that for flow rate in the respective rivers (28 in the Nakdong R.; 50 in the Sin S.). Immediately after the heavy rain, the concentrations of NO2-N, NH3-N and PO4-P in the Sin stream were 8, 6 and 1 times as high as those in the Nakdong River, respectively, but in the stable flow state, those became 94, 25 and more than 10 times, respectively. The load for most of the dissolved environmental constituents changed similarly to the flow rate in both rivers. It is notable that, at the stable flow state, the loads for NH3-N (59g/sec) and NO2-N (3.3g/sec) in the Sin stream were 4.3 and 1.3 times as high as those in the Nakdong River.

  • Methodology of predicting steady performance of gas turbine engine from transient test data was explored to develop an economic performance test technique. Discrepancy of transient performance from steady performance was categorized as dynamic, thermal and aerodynamic transient effects. Each effect was mathematically modeled and quantified to provide correction factors for calculating steady performance. The influence of engine inlet/outlet condition change on engine performance was corrected firstly, and then steady performance was predicted from the correction factors. The result was compared with steady performance test data. This correction method showed an acceptable level of precision, 3.68% difference of fuel flow.

  • We consider a multi-server queueing system without buffer and with two types of customers as a model of operation of a mobile network cell. Customers arrive at the system in the marked Markovian arrival flow. The service times of customers are exponentially distributed with parameters depending on the type of customer. A part of the available servers is reserved exclusively for service of first type customers. Customers who do not receive service upon arrival, can make repeated attempts. The system operation is influenced by random factors, leading to a change of the system parameters, including the total number of servers and the number of reserved servers. The behavior of the system is described by the multi-dimensional Markov chain. The generator of this Markov chain is constructed and the ergodicity condition is derived. Formulas for computation of the main performance measures of the system based on the stationary distribution of the Markov chain are derived. Numerical examples are presented.
