  • CST microwave studio is used to simulate the plasma profile of the 450mm CCP source. Standing wave effect becomes important at the high frequency as the electrode radius increases. To solve plasma non-uniformity problem, we designed multi electrode chamber to decreasing standing wave effect. Simulation showed the ratio of input power of each electrode is related with electric field strength. The multi electrode was constructed and measured by 2D probe arrays using floating harmonic method. Uniformity of 450 mm CCP was changed by the ratio of input power of each electrode. We described this dependence with circuit model.

  • This study is to investigate the distribution of the radiation force exerted on a homogeneous sphere by two circularly-polarized counterpropagating $TEM_{00}$ laser beams. The time-averaged expressions of the rediation force are derived for both cases of two interfering $TEM_{00}$ laser beams and a standing plane electromagnetic wave. The radiation force is numerically calculated and the physical interpretations of computed results are presented. The results in this paper will be useful in the optical levitation experiment using two counterpropagating $TEM_{00}$ laser beams or a standing plane electomagnetic wave.

  • Power transformers, air-intakes and stacks in the urban combined power plant are main noisy sources. Because of Inhabitant complaint by abnormal noise transferred from the power plant. the noise was investigated at power plant and uptown area. The result of diagnosis made the acoustic resonance phenomenon by 580Hz's combustion dynamic pressure with the standing wave mode of sound fields in exhaust passageway of gas turbine into main noise source of public complain. The abnormal noise is caused by the resonance exhaust noise transferred through stacks of power plant.

  • Experimental evidence suggests that spin pinning conditions for standing spin mode in polycrystalline $Ni_{84}Fe_{16}$ alloy film, is confirmed using the four categories of Camley et al. and the value of q$\bot$ for the pinning conditions, this was achieved by performing Brillouin light scattering measurements. The value of q$\bot$ was observed, in order to increase at a rate of $\pi$/2 with an increasing mode number. With this condition, the coexistence of standing spin wave modes was shown, with intermediate pinning, in addition to free and strong pinning. The values for spin-wave-stiffness constant ($D_B$), g-factor (g), and surface magnetization (4$\pi$M) of the Permalloy film were obtained from the results of BLS, and determined to be $D_B=1.85{\pm}0.05Oecm^2$, $g=2.11{\pm}0.02$, and 4$\pi$M=8.7 kG, respectively.

  • We designed a combined nanostructure of inverted pyramidal pits and nanoparticles, which can obtain much stronger field enhancement than traditional periodic pits or nanoparticles. The field enhancement |E|/|E0| is greater than 10 in a large area at 750-820 nm in incident wavelength. |Emax|/|E0| is greater than 60. Moreover, the hot spot is obtained outside the pits instead of localized inside them, which is beneficial for experiments such as surface-enhanced Raman scattering. The relations between resonant wavelength and structural parameters are investigated. The resonant wavelength shows a linear dependence on the structure's period, which provides a direct way to tune the resonant wavelength. The excitation of a propagating surface plasmon on the periodic structure's surface, a localized surface plasmon of nanoparticles, and a standing-wave effect contribute to the enhancement.

  • Guided wave techniques have been used for pipeline inspection because of the long range inspection capability of guided waves. One of main concerns of these technique is how ones decide the axial interval of sensors when they are utilized for pipeline inspection. This question is related to the characteristic of cylindrical guided wave propagation, especially wave attenuation. Thus, attenuation of fundamental longitudinal guided wave propagating liquid-filled steel pipes is numerically investigated in the paper. Several liquids such as water, diesel oil, castor oil etc. are considered for the filing materials in the pipes. Sink is considered for numerical models for abandoning standing wave modes; hence, the attenuation dispersion curves become much simpler. Those attenuation calculations can be utilized for guided-wave-based nondestructive testing of pipelines when one inspects pipelines, using monitoring sensors, which are installed outside pipes.

  • In this study, a Ka-band waveguide rotary joint that can be applied to a millimeter-wave seeker is designed and fabricated. The proposed rotary joint maintains a low standing-wave ratio and low-loss characteristics, and has two rotary axes designed to enable azimuth and elevation rotation. The rotary joint is designed as a ridge-waveguide-type mode converter and a ${\lambda}/4$ choke structure to match the electromagnetic wave propagation mode between the spherical and circular waveguides. A performance test using a network analyzer and a high-power transmitter to assess vibration and shock were conducted. Results showed that the rotary joint had a very low standing-wave ratio of less than the maximum of 1.19:1 and an insertion loss of less than 0.80 dB at $F_C{\pm}500MHz$.

  • Among the nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods for wood defect detection, ultrasonic wave has been considered as competitive technique in terms of economics and workability. Until now, researches on application of NDE methods for wood have focused mainly on standing tree and logs. Recently, some attempts have been conducted with NDE technique, for evaluation of wooden structural members. However, wooden structural members are different from others (standing tree or log) in various aspects. Expecially when some parts or whole member are covered with other materials, they can't be evaluated appropriately on general NDE methods. For the purpose of development of proper NDE technique for the wooden structural members, the ultrasonic wave transmission process investigated on artificial defect in wood. First, various types of transmission process were assumed, and then the transmission times were predicted respectively. Predicted times were compared with the measured time of ultrasonic wave and then a suitable type of transmission process is determined. In case of the ultrasonic wave doesn't transmit directly due to defect, it is reflected once only at the opposite surface of member, and the path is accord with the line of shortest length.
