This paper presents a VHF/UHF-band variable gain low noise amplifier for multi-standard mobile TV tuners. A proposed VHF-band variable gain amplifier is composed of a resistive shunt-feedback low noise amplifier to remove external matching components, a single-to-differential amplifier with input PMOS transcoductors to improve low frequency noise performance, a variable shunt-feedback resistor and an attenuator to control variable gain range. A proposed UHF-band variable gain amplifier consists of a narrowband low noise amplifier with capacitive tuning to improve noise performance and interference rejection performance, a single-to-differential with gm gain control and an attenuator to adjust gain control range. The proposed VHF-band and UHF-band variable gain amplifier were designed in a $0.18{\mu}m$ RF CMOS technology and draws 22 mA and 17 mA from a 1.8 V supply voltage, respectively. The designed VHF-band and UHF-band variable gain amplifier show a voltage gain of 27 dB and 27 dB, a noise figure of 1.6-1.7 dB and 1.3-1.7 dB, OIP3 of 13.5 dBm and 16 dBm, respectively.
Statement of problem. The performance and maintenance of implant-supported prostheses are primarily dependent upon load transmission both at the bone-to-implant interface and within the implant-abutment-prosthesis complex. The design of the interface between components has been shown to have a profound influence on the stability of screw joints. Purpose. The Purpose of this study was to compare the strength and the fatigue resistance of 1-piece and 2-piece abutment connected to oral implant, utilizing an internal conical interface. Material and methods. Twenty $Implatium^{(R)}$ tapered implants were embedded to the top of the fixture in acrylic resin blocks. Ten $Combi^{(R)}$(1-piece) and $Dual^{(R)}$(2-piece) abutments of the same dimension were assembled to the implant, respectively. The assembled units were mounted in a testing machine. A load was applied perpendicular to the long axis of the assemblies and the loading points was at the distance of 7mm from the block surface. Half of 1-piece and 2-piece abutment-implant units were tested for the evaluation of the bending strength, and the others were cyclically loaded for the evaluation of the fatigue resistance until plastic deformation occurred. Nonparametric statistical analysis was performed for the results. Results. Mean plastic and maximum bending moment were $1,900{\pm}18Nmm,\;3,609{\pm}106Nmm$ for the 1-piece abutment, and $1,250{\pm}31Nmm,\;2,688{\pm}166Nmm$ for the 2-piece abutment, respectively. Mean cycles and standard deviation when implant-abutment joint showed a first plastic deformation were $238,610{\pm}44,891$. cycles for the 1-piece abutment and $9,476{\pm}3,541$ cycles for the 2-piece abutment. A 1-piece abutment showed significantly higher value than a 2-piece abutment in the first plastic bending moment (p<.05), maximum bending moment (p<.05) and fatigue strength (p<.05). Conclusion. Both 1-piece and 2-piece conical abutment had high strength and fatigue resistance and this suggests long-term durability without mechanical complication. However, the 1-piece conical abutment was more stable than the 2-piece conical abutment in the strength and the fatigue resistance.

Seven finite element models were constructed in mandible having single screw-type implant fixture connected to the premolar superstructure, in order to evaluate how the length, diameter and platform shape of a screw-type fixture influence the stress in the supporting tissue around fixtures. Each finite element model was varied in terms of length, diameter, and platform shape of the fixture. In each model, 250N of vertical load was placed on the central pit of an occlusal plane and 250N of oblique load placed on the buccal cusp. The stress distribution in the supporting tissue and the other components was analysed using 2-dimensional finite element analysis and the maximum von Mises stress in each reference area was compared. Under lateral loading, the stress was larger at the abutment/fixture interface, and in the crestal bone, compared to the stress pattern under vertical loading. The amount of stress at the superstructure was similar regardless of the length, diameter and platform shape of a fixture. Around the longer fixture, the stress was decreased at the bone crest and subjacent cancellous bone and increased in the cancellous bone area apical to the fixture. Around the wider fixture, the stress was decreased at the abutment/fixture interface, and the bone crest and increased in the cancellous bone area apical to the fixture. Around the fixture having wider platform, less stress was produced at the abutment/fixture interface and the upper part of the cortical bone, compared to the fixture having standard platform. In conclusion, the stress distribution of the supporting tissue was affected by length, diameter, and platform shape of a fixture, and the fixture which was larger in diameter and length could reduce the stress in the supporting tissues at the bone-fixture interface and bone crest area.

In deep-fat frying, the fats and oils are used over and over again, and moisture and air are mixed in to the hot oil. Many reports related to these fats and oils have been established that thermal and oxidative decomposition products and polymers formed under the conditions of deep fat frying are harmful to health. This work was carried out with 3 domestic frying oils and 6 used oils commercially, and that there were difficulties in finding a good definition between fresh oil and used oil with adding unheated oil. As starting materials, commercially used soybean oil and rapeseed oil already passed over induction period in the lipids oxidation standard. From the qualitative point of view, they were inferior to domestic frying oils. Free fatty acid and peroxide value of heated oils were increased gradually by the time pass whereas iodine value were decreased. After adding unheated oil to the heated oil, these values were restored to that of initial levels. On the other hand, content of polar components in the heated oil were directly related to the heating time. This result showed that polar compounds may be a clear indicator of used oils. Fatty acid composition in the used oils, unsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic and linolenic acid decreased while saturated fatty acid content increased with heating.

While the existing Web focuses on the interface with human users based on HTML, the next generation Web will focus on the interaction among software agents by using XML and XML-based standards and technologies. The inference engine, which will serve as brains of software agents in the next generation Web, should thoroughly understand the Semantic Web, the standard language of the next generation Web. As abasis for the service, the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has recommended SWRL (Semantic Web Rule Language) which had been made by compounding OWL (Web Ontology Language) and RuleML (Rule Markup Language). In this research, we develop a backward chaining inference engine SMART-B (SeMantic web Agent Reasoning Tools -Backward chaining inference engine), which uses SWRL and OWL to represent rules and facts respectively. We analyze the requirements for the SWRL-based backward chaining inference and design analgorithm for the backward chaining inference which reflects the traditional backward chaining inference algorithm and the requirements of the next generation Semantic Web. We also implement the backward chaining inference engine and the administrative tools for fact and rule bases into Java components to insure the independence and portability among different platforms under the environment of Ubiquitous Computing.

For more than three decades, the gate dielectrics in CMOS devices are $SiO_2$ because of its blocking properties of current in insulated gate FET channels. As the dimensions of feature size have been scaled down (width and the thickness is reduced down to 50 urn and 2 urn or less), gate leakage current is increased and reliability of $SiO_2$ is reduced. Many metal oxides such as $TiO_2$, $Ta_2O_4$, $SrTiO_3$, $Al_2O_3$, $HfO_2$ and $ZrO_2$ have been challenged for memory devices. These materials posses relatively high dielectric constant, but $HfO_2$ and $Al_2O_3$ did not provide sufficient advantages over $SiO_2$ or $Si_3N_4$ because of reaction with Si substrate. Recently, $HfO_2$ have been attracted attention because Hf forms the most stable oxide with the highest heat of formation. In addition, Hf can reduce the native oxide layer by creating $HfO_2$. However, new gate oxide candidates must satisfy a standard CMOS process. In order to fabricate high density memories with small feature size, the plasma etch process should be developed by well understanding and optimizing plasma behaviors. Therefore, it is necessary that the etch behavior of $HfO_2$ and plasma parameters are systematically investigated as functions of process parameters including gas mixing ratio, rf power, pressure and temperature to determine the mechanism of plasma induced damage. However, there is few studies on the the etch mechanism and the surface reactions in $BCl_3$ based plasma to etch $HfO_2$ thin films. In this work, the samples of $HfO_2$ were prepared on Si wafer with using atomic layer deposition. In our previous work, the maximum etch rate of $BCl_3$/Ar were obtained 20% $BCl_3$/ 80% Ar. Over 20% $BCl_3$ addition, the etch rate of $HfO_2$ decreased. The etching rate of $HfO_2$ and selectivity of $HfO_2$ to Si were investigated with using in inductively coupled plasma etching system (ICP) and $BCl_3/Cl_2$/Ar plasma. The change of volume densities of radical and atoms were monitored with using optical emission spectroscopy analysis (OES). The variations of components of etched surfaces for $HfO_2$ was investigated with using x-ray photo electron spectroscopy (XPS). In order to investigate the accumulation of etch by products during etch process, the exposed surface of $HfO_2$ in $BCl_3/Cl_2$/Ar plasma was compared with surface of as-doped $HfO_2$ and all the surfaces of samples were examined with field emission scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscope (AFM).
Hydrocarbon dew point(HCDP), a property which is the most generally used for describing natural gas condensation, is a very important parameter of natural gas quality specifications. HCDP is strongly influenced by the concentration of the heavier hydrocarbon components, especially $C_6+$, so, along with compliance with gas quality specifications, build up of procedures for obtaining accurate HCDP is essential for gas transmission company, because hydrocarbon condensation present may cause serious operational and safety problems. This study has been carried out in an attempt to measure HCDP accurately by the automatic hydrocarbon dew point meter under the actual field conditions. Measured HCDP also has been compared with calculated HCDP using the composition determined by gas chromatograph and industry accepted equation of state at multiple pressures, along with the cricondentherm. The test results are 1) the automatic hydrocarbon dew point meter was able to measure stable HCDP continuously 2) the automatic hydrocarbon dew point meter has been performed reference measurement by pure propane with a known dew point from literature, and 3) A meaningful differences was observed when comparing the automatic hydrocarbon dew point meter and gas chromatograph results for synthetic standard gas mixtures and real gas mixtures.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to verify the effects of H Gambitang (GB-001) on body composition and basal metabolic rate in pre- and post-menopausal obese woman retrospectively. Methods: The study was conducted on 57 middle-aged obese women. They were divided into two groups; pre-menopausal obesity group (Pr-MOG; n=34) and post-menopausal obesity group (Po-MOG; amenorrhea was continued to 14~48 month, n=23) with no significant difference of age, height, body weight and body mass index. All subjects took herbal medicine 3 times a day, for 6 weeks during treatment period. The weight, height, body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, and basal metabolic rate of all subjects were measured on first visit. The following measurements were repeated after 2 weeks (2nd), 4 weeks (3rd) and 6 weeks (4th) with Inbody 370 (Biospace) equipment to identify changes of body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, and basal metabolic rate. Results are represented as mean and standard deviation. Results: Po-MOG showed significantly lower decrease rate in weight reduction on 2~6 weeks while significantly higher decrease rate in skeletal muscle reduction on 4~6 weeks. There were no significant differences between two groups in body fat reduction rate and basal metabolic increasing rate. Conclusions: H Gambitang (GB-001) can be used not only in Pr-MOG but in Po-MOG in weight loss although the effect can be lower in Po-MOG. To prevent skeletal muscle mass loss in Po-MOG, following study on adjusting dose and components of H Gambitang (GB-001) thought to be necessary.
Flavor components extracted from eighty species of Korean ordinary soy sauce were analyzed by gas chromatography. The relationship between the sensory scores of soy sauce flavor and the gas chromatographic data transformed with variables were analysed by method of multiple regression analysis. Simple correlation between values of each peak and sensory scores were totally low. The tenth and 12th peak had the highest correlation, 0.331. Determination coefficients of data obtained by transformation of each variables were not significantly different from each other. Flavor of soy sauce was explained about 56% at step 16 in case of stepwise multiple regression analysis of absolute values. The fact that the minimum standard errors of an estimate was found at the 16th step suggests the importance of selecting of independent variables from the whole gas chromatogram together with the results of F ratio. In the contributing proportion of each peak examined, peak 10 and 12 were contributing mainly to the good flavor of soy sauce.
For the optimization of thermal processing conditions in soymilk process, 4 strains of thermoresistant flat-sour bacteria were isolated from soymilk. The isolates were aerobic spore-forming rods, and grew at $-65^{\circ}C$. Based on the morphological and physiological properties, all of the isolated strains were identified as Bacillus stearothermophilus. The heat resistance of spores of 3 isolates and Bacillus stearothermophillus ATCC 12980 as a reference was determined in soymilk(pH 7.0) and pH 7.0 buffer solution. For each of the spores studied, linear regression equations with standard error were presented for the thermal destruction at 110, 115, 121, and $125^{\circ}C$. It was not obvious that the components of soy milk increased the heat resistance of spores. Between the strains studied, variability was noted in the D values at the different temperature, and no one strain was consistently the most heat resistant at all the given temperatures. The average D value for the 4 strains was 77.27, 20.20, 2.76 and 1.39 min at 110, 115, 121 and $125^{\circ}C$, respectively, and the average z value was $8.36^{\circ}C$.
