Estimation of the exponential distribution based on multiply Type I hybrid censored sample

  • The exponential distibution is one of the most popular distributions in analyzing the lifetime data. In this paper, we propose multiply Type I hybrid censoring. And this paper presents the statistical inference on the scale parameter for the exponential distribution when samples are multiply Type I hybrid censoring. The scale parameter is estimated by approximate maximum likelihood estimation methods using two different Taylor series expansion types ($AMLE_I$, $AMLE_{II}$). We also obtain the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the scale parameter ${\sigma}$ under the proposed multiply Type I hybrid censored samples. We compare the estimators in the sense of the root mean square error (RMSE). The simulation procedure is repeated 10,000 times for the sample size n=20 and 40 and various censored schemes. The $AMLE_{II}$ is better than $AMLE_I$ in the sense of the RMSE.

  • The maximum likelihood(ML) estimation of the scale parameters of an exponential distribution based on progressive Type II censored samples is given. The sample is multiply censored (some middle observations being censored); however, the ML method does not admit explicit solutions. In this paper, we propose multiply progressive Type II censoring. This paper presents the statistical inference on the scale parameter for the exponential distribution when samples are multiply progressive Type II censoring. The scale parameter is estimated by approximate ML methods that use two different Taylor series expansion types ($AMLE_I$, $AMLE_{II}$). We also obtain the maximum likelihood estimator(MLE) of the scale parameter under the proposed multiply progressive Type II censored samples. We compare the estimators in the sense of the mean square error(MSE). The simulation procedure is repeated 10,000 times for the sample size n = 20 and 40 and various censored schemes. The $AMLE_{II}$ is better than MLE and $AMLE_I$ in the sense of the MSE.

제곱-나눗셈 모듈러 지수연산법 (Square-and-Divide Modular Exponentiation)

  • 암호학의 암호 생성과 해독, 소수판별법의 성능은 대부분 $a^b$ (mod m)의 모듈러 지수연산의 효율적 구현여부로 결정된다. 모듈러 지수연산법에는 제곱-곱셈 방식의 표준 이진법이 최선의 선택으로 알려져 있다. 그러나 큰 자리수의 b에 대해서는 사전처리를 하는 n-ary, ($n{\geq}2$)이 보다 효율적으로 적용된다. 본 논문에서는 모듈러 지수 나눗셈 방법을 적용한 제곱-나눗셈법과 사전처리 없는 n-ary 제곱-나눗셈법을 제안하였다. 제곱-나눗셈법은 b가 $2^k+2^{k-1}$에 근접한 값 또는 $2^{k+1}$에 근접한 경우 수행횟수 측면에서 가장 효율적임을 알 수 있었다. 나머지 값들에 대해서는 사전처리 없는 n-ary 제곱-나눗셈법을 적용하는 것이 사전처리를 하는 일반적인 n-ary법에 비해 수행횟수 측면에서 효율적임을 보였다.

  • In this paper, we consider maximum likelihood estimators of the location and scale parameters for the half-logistic distribution when samples are multiply Type I hybrid censored. The scale parameter is estimated by approximate maximum likelihood estimation methods using two different Taylor series expansion types ($\hat{\sigma}_I$, $\hat{\sigma}_{II}$). We compare the estimators in the sense of the root mean square error (RMSE). The simulation procedure is repeated 10,000 times for the sample size n=20 and 40 and various censored schemes. The approximate MLE of the second type is better than that of the first type in the sense of the RMSE. Further an illustrative example with the real data is presented.

저가 microcontoller unit을 이용한 효율적인 다채널 능동 소음 제어기 구현 (The efficient implementation of the multi-channel active noise controller using a low-cost microcontroller unit)

  • 본 논문에서는 저가 MCU(Microcontoller Unit)를 이용하여 다채널 능동 소음 제어기를 효율적으로 구현할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다. 다채널 능동 소음 제어 알고리즘으로 사용된 정규화된 MFxLMS(Modified Filtered-x Least Mean Square) 알고리즘은 많은 연산량을 요구하며, 저가 MCU로 구현하기에는 어려움이 있었다. 본 연구에서는 MCU의 특성을 잘 활용하여 소프트웨어를 최적화함으로써 효율적으로 다채널 능동 소음 제어기를 구현할 수 있었다. CPU(Central Processing Unit)가 지원하는 단일 싸이클 MAC(Multiply- Accumulate) 연산을 극대화하고, 지연 메모리 연산을 최소화함으로써 3배 이상의 연산 최적화를 달성하였다. 또한 MCU가 지원하는 보조 프로세서를 이용하여 병렬 처리함으로써 4배 이상의 연산 최적화를 이루었다. 더불어 MCU에 내장된 주변 장치를 최대한 활용함으써, 추가적인 부품의 사용을 최소화하였다.

Eddy current 동력계의 부하와 와전류의 직진성 관련 연구 (Linearity study for the field coil current and the load of eddy current dynamometer)

  • Commercial eddy current dynamometers control the torque of ratating body (poer supply machine) with the field coil current being operated as a braking force. In this paper, we studied about the relation between the field coil current and the torque load of eddy current dynamometer. By the torque measuring analysis of eddy current dynamometer, it is linear relation between the brake force measured from the torque meter (e.g. load cell, strain gage or spring balance etc.) which is installed at the case of dynamometer and the multiply of shaft rpm by the square of field coil current (N$\times$Ia2). To prove the relation, it was experimented and showed that the torque operated by the rotating body can be measured with the shaft rpm and the field coil current of eddy current dynamometer. This result shows a possibility that eddy current dynamometer can measures the torque of rotating body without special torque measuring devices.

  • This paper presents the theoretical analysis method to determine the stress concentrations around the circular cutouts with various geometrical parameters. The purposes of this study are to investigate on the stress distribution around the circular cutouts due to interaction between two circular cutouts and to develop the design method in composite plates. The composite laminated plate with 2 equal collinear circular cutouts under inplane loads is treated as an quasi-isotropic, symmetric, finite, square, multiply connected and thin plate. The effects of cutout sizes, distances between two circular cutouts and inplane load conditions on stress distribution are studied in detail.

  • There are various shapes such as square, rectangular, L, and T type in the grounding systems of substations. IEEE St-d suggests the formula considering the characteristics of the various grounding systems but the final value can not be taken, and them the analysis of complicated computer program for obtaining the more accurate value is needed. In his paper, by using CDEGS(Current, Distribution, Electromagnetic and Soil Structure Analysis) the estimated functions derives form the modification coefficient for each of various types above mentioned. The mesh voltage expected can be obtained without the conventional expensive program using compensating methods that multiply IEEE formula by the estimated function.

무의촌균주(無醫村菌株) 및 병원균주(病院菌株)의 항균제(抗菌劑) 내성(耐性) 양상(樣相)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Drug Resistance Patterns of the Bacterial Strains Isolated from Rural Areas and an Urban General Hospital)

  • Besides the benefits of antimicrobial agents in the control of various infectious diseases, widespread and prolonged use of particular antimicrobial agents has brought about the increase of drug-resistant strains in a community and the profound changes in the pattern of infectious diseases. In Korea, there are some remote villages where no clinics and drug stores are available and the residents in those areas are assumed to have fewer chances to contact with antimicrobial agents. In the present study, the differences in susceptibilities to 14 antimicrobial agents between the isolates from rural areas(R) and Seoul National University Hospital(SNUH, H) were studied. The isolates and their numbers were Staphylococcus aureus, R;55, H;68), Enterococci(R;28, H;30), Escherichia coli(R;40, H;40), Enterobacter aerogenes(R;25, H;21) and Klebsiella pneunoniae(R;58, H;67). Minimal inhibitory concentrations(MIC's) of penicillin, ampicillin, carbenicillin, cephalexin, tetracycline, oxytetracyline, doxycycline, minocycline, gentamicin, kanamycin, streptomycin, erythromycin, troleandomycin and co-trimoxazole were determined by agar dilution method. I. Comparison of MIC's and resistant strain proportions between isolates from SNUH and rural areas. MIC's and/or resistant strain proportions of the isolates from SNUH were significantly higher than those of the isolates from rural areas in the cases of 1. S. aureus to doxycycline, streptomycin and kanamycin. 2. E. coli to penicillin, ampicillin, carbenicillin, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, streptomycin, kanamycin, erythromycin and co-trimoxazole. 3. E. aerogences to carbenicillin, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, streptomycin, kanamycin, genaamicin and co-trimoxazole. 4. K pneunoniae to penicillin, ampicillin, tetracycline, oxytetracycline, doxycycline, monocycline, streptomycin, kanamycine, gentamicin and co-trimoxazole. However, the mean MIC and resistant strain proportion of S. aureus to tetracycline were higher in isolates from rural areas than in those from SNUH and Enterococci showed no differences in susceptibilities to the antimicrobial agents between isolates from rural areas and from SNUH. Therefore, in general, differenes in susceptibility to these antimicrobial agents between the isolates from rural areas and SNUH were remarkably greater and broader in gram negative enteric bacteria. II. Multiple drug resistance pattern. Patterns and incidences of multiple drug resistance were studied with penicillin, ampicillin, tetracycline, cephalexin, gentamicin, streptomcin, kanamycin and co-trimoxazole in Enterococci, E. coli, E. aeroges and K. pneumoniae. There appeared significant differences in the incidence of multiply drug-resistant strains and multiple drug resistance patterns between the isolates from SNUH and rural areas in Enterococci, E. coli, E. aerogenes and K. pneumoniae. However, there was no difference in the incidence of multiply drug-resistant strains between isolates of S. aureus from SNUH and rural areas but the pattern of multiple resistance of the SNUH strains of S. aureus was diverse, while that of the rural strains was predominantly confined to penicillin-tetracycline combination. The incidence of multigly drug-resistant strains and diversity of their patterns were the highest in E. coli strains isolated from SNUH and there were no multiply drug resistant strrains in Enterococci and K. pneumoniae strains isolated from rural areas. The number of drug-resistance determinants was also different between the isolates from rural areas and SNUH. Most of the multiply drug-resistant strains of E. coli, E. aerogenes and K. pneumoniae isolated from SNUH were resistant to more than 3 kinds of antimicrobial agents, most frequently to ampicillin, tetracycline and streptomycin, while multiply drug-resistant strains from rural areas were resistant to 2 kinds of antimicrobial agents among ampicillin, tetracycline and streptomycin. With drug-resistant E. coli strains, resistance to tetracycline which was used most widely since 1951 was most frequently involved as a part of mutliple drug-resistance, followed by resistance to ampicillin and streptomycin. This strongly suggests that emergence of drug-restant strains in a community is directly dependent on the selective pressure exerted by the antimicrobial agent used. III. Cross resistance. Cross resistance of bacteria was studied among tetracycline penicillin, aminoglycoside and macrolide derivatives by analyzing correlation coefficients of sucseptibilities using the least square method. In this study, there were high correlations among the susceptibilities to related derivatives. It appears that the relatively low correlations in susceptibilities present in some cases are due to intrinsic resistance of E. aerogenes to penicillin, Enterococci to aminoglycoside and E. coli E. aerogenes and K. pneumoniae to macrolide derivatives.

RSA 암호시스템을 위한 모듈러 지수 연산 프로세서 설계 (Design of Modular Exponentiation Processor for RSA Cryptography)

  • 본 논문에서는 몽고메리 알고리즘을 사용하여 모듈러 곱셈을 빠르게 수행하는 선형 시스톨릭 어레이를 설계하고, 이 곱셈기와 LR 이진 제곱 곱셈 알고리즘을 사용하여 n 비트 메시지 블록에 대해 모듈러 지수 연산을 수행하는 지수 연산 프로세서를 설계한다 이 프로세서는 제어장치, 입출력 시프트 레지스터, 지수 연산 장치 등 3개의 영역으로 나 누어진다. 설계된 지수 연산 프로세서의 동작을 검증하기 위해 VHDL를 사용하여 모델링하고 MAX+PLUS II를 사용하여 시뮬레이션 한다. 메시지 블록의 길이 n=512일 때 설계된 지수 연산 프로세서의 지연 시간은 59.5ms이다. 설계된 모듈러 지수 연산 프로세서는 RSA 칩(chip)에 이용될 수 있을 것이다.
