Research on In-band Spurious Evasion Techniques of Hybrid Frequency Synthesizer

  • The study aims to a design hybrid frequency synthesizer in spectrum analyzer and to propose new techniques designed for evasion of in-band spurious. The study focuses on calculating the exact location of multiple phase locked loop of hybrid frequency synthesizer and spurious of direct digital synthesizer to evade in-band spurious outside of frequency range that the user wants to see and thereby simulating technique to improve input related spurious of spectrum analyzer for algorithm. The proposed technique is designed to calculate spurious evasion algorithm in central processing system when in-band spurious arises, and to move output frequency of DDS(direct digital synthesizer) into the place where no in-band spurious exists thereby improving performance of frequency synthesizer. The study used simulation and result representation to prove the effectiveness of the proposed technique.

The Impact of Parasitic Elements on Spurious Turn-On in Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge Converters

  • This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the spurious turn-on phenomena in phase-shifted full-bridge (PSFB) converters. The conventional analysis of the spurious turn-on phenomenon does not establish in the PSFB converter as realizing zero voltage switching (ZVS). Firstly, a circuit model is proposed taking into account the parasitic capacitors and inductors of the transistors, as well as the parasitic elements of the power circuit loop. Second, an exhaustive investigation into the impact of all these parasitic elements on the spurious turn-on is conducted. It has been found that the spurious turn-on phenomenon is mainly attributed to the parasitic inductors of the power circuit loop, while the parasitic inductors of the transistors have a weak impact on this phenomenon. In addition, the operation principle of the PSFB converter makes the leading and lagging legs have distinguished differences with respect to the spurious turn-on problems. Design guidelines are given based on the theoretical analysis. Finally, detailed simulation and experimental results obtained with a 1.5 kW PSFB converter are given to validate proposed analysis.

스퓨리어스 특성이 개선된 새로운 구조의 트랜스버살 필터 (A novel transversal filter with improved spurious characteristics)

  • A spurious-suppressed transversal filter using the multiple-coupled line is proposed. The frequency characteristics of the multiple-coupled line are analyzed in detail. In order to compare the performances, the novel spurious-suppressed transversal filter using triple-coupled half-wavelength directional couplers is designed at 5 GHz. The spurious-suppression characteristics of the proposed transversal filter are verified by the full wave analysis and the measurement. The spurious response of the fabricated filter is effectively suppressed up to 13 GHz and the large attenuation is attained in the stopband.

Spurious Suppressed Substrate Integrated Waveguide Bandpass Filter Using Stepped-Impedance Resonator

  • A spurious suppressed bandpass filter is proposed and discussed using the stepped impedance resonator(SIR) on a substrate-integrated waveguide(SIW) structure with a double-layer substrate. The second resonance of the fundamental $TE_{10}$ mode can be controlled by adjusting the electrical length and impedance ratio of each SIR. The spurious suppressed SIW bandpass filter shows the measurement results of the insertion loss of 3.98 dB and return loss of less than 11.58 dB at the center frequency of 12 GHz. Also, the second spurious frequency is improved to about $1.5f_0$ compared with $1.33f_0$.

  • In this paper, Coplanar Waveguide(CPW) low-pass filter with the spurious-reduced is designed by using Defected Ground Structures(DGS). Two different LPF unit cells and DGS pattern are combined to reduce the spurious. In comparison to a conventional step impedance LPF, the size of proposed LPF as 17.2mm*6.8mm is several times smaller. The simulation and measurements confirm that spurious characteristics is presented less than -30dB($S_{21}$) to three times cut off frequency.

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 고주파 기억 장치(DRFM: Digital RF Memory)의 스퓨리어스 신호 저감 방법에 대하여 제안하였다. 스퓨리어스 특성은 디지털 고주파 기억 장치의 성능을 결정짓는 주요 요소이다. 제안한 방법은 입력되는 IF 신호에 랜덤 위상값을 가지는 LO 신호를 혼합하여 샘플링하여 스퓨리어스 신호를 저감하였으며, 랜덤 위상을 가지는 LO 신호는 직접 디지털 합성기(DDS: Direct Digital Synthesizer)의 고속 위상 제어 특성을 이용하여 생성하였다. 제안한 방법을 적용하여 5~10 dB의 스퓨리어스 특성이 향상됨을 확인하였다.

  • 본 연구에서는 면외 변형이 가능한 평면 곡선보에 수정 형상함수를 적용하여 탈락성 및 지속성 에너지에 포함된 가성구속에 의한 수치해의 거동을 고찰함과 동시에, 가성구속에 의한 오차 발생 요인이 제거된, 면외 변형이 가능한 평면 곡선보의 선형 요소를 제안하고자 한다.

Spurious mode distinguish by eigensystem realization algorithm with improved stabilization diagram

  • Modal parameter identification plays a key role in the structural health monitoring (SHM) for civil engineering. Eigensystem realization algorithm (ERA) is one of the most popular identification methods. However, the complex environment around civil structures can introduce the noises into the measurement from SHM system. The spurious modes would be generated due to the noises during ERA process, which are usually ignored and be recognized as physical modes. This paper proposes an improved stabilization diagram method in ERA to distinguish the spurious modes. First, it is proved that the ERA can be performed by any two Hankel matrices with one time step shift. The effect of noises on the eigenvalues of structure is illustrated when the choice of two Hankel matrices with one time step shift is different. Then, a moving data diagram is proposed to combine the traditional stabilization diagram to form the improved stabilization diagram method. The moving data diagram shows the mode variation along the different choice of Hankel matrices, which indicates whether the mode is spurious or not. The traditional stabilization diagram helps to determine the concerned truncated order before moving data diagram is implemented. Finally, the proposed method is proved through a numerical example. The results show that the proposed method can distinguish the spurious modes.

Deramped SAR 원시데이터에서 효율적인 Spurious 신호 제거 기법 (Method for Eliminating Spurious Signal from Deramped SAR Raw Data)

  • 고해상도 영상 획득을 위해 데이터량과 처리시간에 대한 이점으로 인해 deramping 기법을 많이 적용한다. 그러나 ADC를 통해 디지털 신호로 변환하는 과정에서 시스템 구동 신호에 의한 원하지 않는 잡음 톤(spurious signal, noise-tone)이 들어올 수 있다. 이 경우, 영상에 직접적이고 심각한 품질 저하가 발생하게 된다. 이를 해결하기 위해서는 deramped SAR에서 발생 가능한 잡음 톤에 대한 특성 분석을 통해 불필요한 신호를 적절히 선택하고 또한, 신호 특성을 반영하여 원시데이터 상에서 잡음 신호를 효과적으로 제거해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 잡음 톤에 대한 원인 및 특성 분석을 바탕으로 원시데이터 상에서 잡음 톤을 효율적으로 제거하는 방법을 제안하였다.

고속 주파수 합성기용 광대역 DDS 모듈 (A Wideband DDS Module for High-Speed Frequency Synthesizer)

  • 본 논문에서는 0.5~1.1 GHz 주파수 범위를 갖는 광대역 DDS(Direct Digital Synthesizer) 모듈의 설계 및 제작 결과에 대해 기술하고자 한다. 600 MHz 대역폭을 갖는 광대역 DDS 구현을 위해 DDS의 클럭을 2.4 GHz로 선정하였다. 광대역 DDS의 불요신호(spurious) 특성을 개선하기 위해 출력 불요신호 대비 크기가 같고, 역위상을 갖는 여러 개의 신호들을 동시에 발생시킨 후 DDS 내부에서 출력 신호와 합성하였다. 제작된 DDS 모듈의 불요신호는 상용 DDS 대비 10 dB 정도 개선되었고, DDS 모듈의 동조 속도는 340 ns 이하임을 확인하였다.
