When the water jets heated up to the saturation temperature at a high line pressure are sprayed into a reduced (atmospheric) pressure through an air-assisted nozzle, the jets experience sudden exposure into a reduced pressure, get superheated and produce steam bubbles while atomization processes of jets are taking place. This process is called flash atomization. In this study the flash atomization of superheated water jets assisted by air has been studied. Sprays with flash atomization have been photographed at various water and air flow rates and water superheats. It has been found that the spray angle with flash atomization increases with water superheat and water flow rate but decreases with air flow rate. The degree of change of spray angle has been analyzed and correlated as a function of superheat, air and water flow rates.

This study discusses the development of waterproofing layer jet-spray nozzle that forms a three-dimensional air cell. This nozzle has an air flow generation mechanism in the air groove of the attachment cell part located at the end of the injection nozzle. Since the air grooves also function as an air curtain, the airborne particles generated when the waterproof material is sprayed is effectively blocked. In the past, spraying of the waterproof material through the high pressure was possible, but this technology allows stable injection due to the static agitation method, and various problems caused by particle generation has been (damages to neighboring areas, economic loss, etc.) minimized.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the optimal shape for a local air ventilation system for fume removal, which is operated in a zinc galvanizing factory, and to propose the improvement plan for a ventilation system used in a zinc galvanizing factory through flow analysis. A part of the air sprayed by an air curtain goes out. It will be necessary to research the position of an air curtain, its spray angles, and its nozzle shape. In addition, additional research needs to be conducted on the shape of the fan installed before a hood in order to make it easy to induce fume. In a local air ventilation system, air is inhaled from the outside. The higher an inlet negative pressure is, the easier fume is removed. It was found that it was necessary to install an appropriate hole in the wall on the back of a push nozzle in order to reduce an inlet negative pressure.

We employed atmospheric plasma to reactively remove the lubricant sprayed onto such industrial electronic parts as LCD chassis during sheet-metal forming processes and investigated basically the effect of plasma parameters on cleansing the surfaces of zinc-electroplated steel plates (EGI). Specimen prepared with some controlled amount of lubricant sprayed on their surfaces beforehand were subjected to two different kinds of atmospheric plasma, one being generated by using air and the other generated by using nitrogen (99.9% purity). Locating the plasma beams at the height range between 3.5 and 13.5 mm from the surface of each specimen and radiating for 5 to 30 seconds resulted out that the cases with a position of 3.5 mm and a duration of 5 seconds or longer showed the surfaces completely cleansed without a trace of lubricant. Furthermore we found out that the plasma generated by using simple air depicted higher cleansing ability than the other one generated by using expensive nitrogen, interestingly useful very much for industrial purposes. On another aspect, we confirmed that the drilled or cut surfaces of Zn-plated steel substrate would not be oxidized even under the influence of plasma during its cleansing process. Therefore, we could probably conclude from this fore-survey that a dry process adopting atmospheric plasma for cleansing industrial parts might be determined to become successful in terms of commercialization, cautiously.
The experiment of thermal performance about closed-wet cooling tower was conducted in this study. A closed cooling tower is a device similar to a general cooling tower, but with cooling tower replaced by a heat exchanger. The test section for this experiment has the process that the cooling water flows from the top of the heat exchanger to the bottom side in the inner part of the tube, and spray water flows in the gravitational direction in the outer side. Air comes in direct contact with the spray water at the outer side of the tube while passing from the lower the upper part having a counterflow to the spray water. The heat transfer pipe used in this experiment is a bare-type tube having an outer diameter of 15.88mm. The heat exchanger is consisted of seven rows and fifteen columns. In this experiment, thermal performance of the cooling tower is derived from overall heat transfer coefficients between the process fluid and sprayed water and volumetric overall mass transfer coefficient between sprayed water and air.
Several plasma-sprayed ceramic coatings with two- and three-layers were characterized and tested for the application of cooling tube coatings of oxygen convert gas recovery system (OG cooling system) in the steel making plant. Thermal cycling tests using a torch heating with compressed air cooling were carried out and characterized before and after the tests. The effects of metallic bond coat as well as ceramic top coat were also studied. Possible failure mechanisms with low carbon steel substrate were assessed in term of microstructure, porosity, bond strength, thermal expansion coefficient, and the phase transformation. Finally, the results of field tests at the OG cooling system are presented and discussed their microstructural degradation. Test results have shown that three-layered coatings perform better than two-layered coatings.
High velocity oxy-fuel sprayed NiCoCrAlY coatings were oxidized between 1000 and $1200^{\circ}C$ in air, and the oxide scales were examined by XRD, SEM/EDS, and EPMA. The unoxidized coatings consisted mainly of ${\gamma}$'$-Ni_3$Al, with some ${\gamma}$-Ni. The major oxide formed on the coatings was $\alpha$$-Al_2$$O_3$. Additionally, (CoCr$_2$$O_4$, $CoAl_2$$O_4$) spinels and $Al_{5}$$Y_3$$O_{12}$ coexisted. NiO was not found, despite of high amount of Ni in the coating. Below the oxide layer, internally formed $Al_2$$O_3$ existed.

The erosion characteristice of plasma-sprayed tungsten carbide chromium carbide coatings were investigated. Erosion tests were perfomed at room temperature by using Al2O3 and SiC particles accleerated in air stream. Weight losses of the coatings were measured over a range of paricle velocities and impingement angle. It was found that, for both of this coatings, the maximum erosion occurrd at a normal angle of impact, and the erosion rate at this impact angle was a power function of pparticle velocity. The values of the velocty emponent were between 3.07 and 3.50 Erosion value of chromium carbide coating was higher than that of tungsten carbide coating.

Twenty(20) large commercial buildings located in Seoul with friable sprayed-on surface insulation material on ceilings were investigated for asbestos content in bulk material by polarized light microscopy and for airborne fiber concentrations in buildings by phase contrast microscopy. In addition, such building-related variables as building age, numbers of traffic, airflow, surface conditions of the ceiling, temperature, and humidity were studied for any correlation with airborne fiber concentrations. The results were as follows: 1. Chrysotile asbestos was found in two bulk samples with 3-5% content and with <1%in one sample out of total 20 bulk samples collected. Glass fiber and mineral wool were the two major constituents of the bulk samples. 2. The ceiling surfaces were very friable in 16 buildings and were relatively hard in 4 buildings. The friability of the surface material was dependent upon the type and the amount of binder that had been mixed with the sprayed-on surface material. 3. Airborne fiber concentrations were log-normally distributed and the geometric mean(geometric standard deviation) fiber concentrations in the underground parking lots, inside buildings, and outdoor ambient air were 0.0063(1.97)f/cc, 0.0068(2.29)f/cc, and 0.0033(2.36)f/cc, respectively. 4. No significant relationship of airborne fiber concentrations and all building-related variables studied except humidity was found. The results of this study suggest that the sprayed-on surface insulation material found in some commercial buildings may possibly be contaminated with asbestos. Since most of the ceiling surfaces surveyed were very friable and poorly maintained and the airborne fiber concentrations were relatively high, there is a possibility of asbestos fiber contamination in these buildings, particularly at those buildings with asbestos-contaminated surface material. Since poorly maintained surface conditions were thought to be a source of high airborne fiber concentrations, there is a urgent need of a systematic operation and maintenance program. Further study of non-occupational asbestos exposure in general population utilizing advanced analytical technique such as transmission electron microscopy is highly recommended.

The experiments were performed in the Jinan (elevation: 300 meters above sea level), Jeollabuk-do. Seedlings (n = 63 per $3.3m^2$) of ginseng cultivar (Cheonpung, Yeonpung) were planted on April 10, 2015. Shading material of plastic film house was blue-white film. Before the Planting seedling, silicate (3 kg/10 a) or chitosan (40 kg/10 a) was fertilized and foliar sprayed on the leaves 1000 times dilution solution once a month from May to September every year. The growth results of 5-year old ginseng surveyed in 2018 are as follows. The average air temperature in the plastic film house was the highest at $26.6^{\circ}C$ and $26.5^{\circ}C$ in July and August, respectively, and the highest temperature was $40.5^{\circ}C$ in July. The maximum daily temperature of $35^{\circ}C$ or more was 30 days, with the average soil temperature being $24.9^{\circ}C$ in August. The chemical properties of the test soil are as follows. pH was 6.4~6.9 level and EC was 0.35~0.46 dS/m. The organic matter content was 33.5~41.4 g/kg, and available-P content was 251.9~306.8 mg/kg. Exchangeable cations contents, such as K, Ca and Mg were all the appropriate ranges. The soil microbial density surveyed by the dilution plate method was 10~50 times higher than that of control (Non-treatment) and actinomycete density was 3~6 times higher. Pathogens of the genus Fusarium by Metagenome analysis decreased 91.3% and 68.2% respectively in the foliar sprayed of chitosan and soluble-silicate. The light intensity (PAR) in the blue-white film plastic film house gradually increased until July and then decereased, with the average of light intensity in March-October was $120.3umol/m^2/s$. The growth of aerial parts such as plant height and stem length was better than non-sprayed group in silicate or chitosan treatments and Yeonpung cultivar was superior to the Cheonpung cultivar. The SPAD value was higher in Yeonpung cultivar foliar sprayed with soluble-silicate. The growth of underground parts such as root length and taproot length were better in chitosan and soluble-silicate treatment than control, especially in Yeonpung cultivar foliar sprayed with chitosan was good in taproot length and taproot diameter, and fresh weight of root was 60.1 g. Ginsenoside contents were 24.9 mg/g and 22.4 mg/g, in the Cheonpung cultivar foliar sprayed with soluble-silicate or chitosan respectively, 28% and 15% higher than control (19.5 mg/g). The incidence of disease by Alteraria panax and Botrytis cinerea was 3~9% and 4~9%, respectively. High temperature damage rate was 3~5%.
