  • This paper proposes geographical name denoising by machine learning of event detection based on twitter. Recently, the increasing number of smart phone users are leading the growing user of SNS. Especially, the functions of short message (less than 140 words) and follow service make twitter has the power of conveying and diffusing the information more quickly. These characteristics and mobile optimised feature make twitter has fast information conveying speed, which can play a role of conveying disasters or events. Related research used the individuals of twitter user as the sensor of event detection to detect events that occur in reality. This research employed geographical name as the keyword by using the characteristic that an event occurs in a specific place. However, it ignored the denoising of relationship between geographical name and homograph, it became an important factor to lower the accuracy of event detection. In this paper, we used removing and forecasting, these two method to applied denoising technique. First after processing the filtering step by using noise related database building, we have determined the existence of geographical name by using the Naive Bayesian classification. Finally by using the experimental data, we earned the probability value of machine learning. On the basis of forecast technique which is proposed in this paper, the reliability of the need for denoising technique has turned out to be 89.6%.

  • The mediator-based system integrates heterogeneous information systems with the flexible manner. But it does not give much attention on the query optimization issues, especially for the query reusing. The other thing is that it does not use standardized metadata for schema matching. To improve this two issues, we propose mediator-based Distributed Information Integration System (DIIS) which uses query caching regarding performance and uses ISO/IEC 11179 metadata registry in terms of standardization. The DIIS is designed to provide decision-making support, which logically integrates the distributed heterogeneous business information systems based on the Web environment. We designed the system in the aspect of three-layer expression formula architecture using the layered pattern to improve the system reusability and to facilitate the system maintenance. The functionality and flow of core components of three-layer architecture are expressed in terms of process line diagrams and assembly line diagrams of Eriksson Penker Extension Model (EPEM), a methodology of an extension of UML. For the implementation, Supply Chain Management (SCM) domain is used. And we used the Web-based environment for user interface. The DIIS supports functions of query caching and query reusability through Query Function Manager (QFM) and Query Function Repository (QFR) such that it enhances the query processing speed and query reusability by caching the frequently used queries and optimizing the query cost. The DIIS solves the diverse heterogeneity problems by mapping MetaData Registry (MDR) based on ISO/IEC 11179 and Schema Repository (SCR).

  • This paper addresses the analysis and the design optimization of differential interconnects for Low-Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) applications. Thanks to the differential transmission and the low voltage swing, LVDS offers high data rates and improved noise immunity with significantly reduced power consumption in data communications, high-resolution display, and flat panel display. We present an improved model and new equations to reduce impedance mismatch and signal degradation in cascaded interconnects using optimization of interconnect design parameters such as trace width, trace height and trace space in differential flexible printed circuit board (FPCB) transmission lines. We have carried out frequency-domain full-wave electromagnetic simulations, time-domain transient simulations, and S-parameter simulations to evaluate the high-frequency characteristics of the differential FPCB interconnects. The 10% change in trace width produced change of approximately 6% and 5.6% in differential impedance for trace thickness of $17.5{\mu}m$ and $35{\mu}m$, respectively. The change in the trace space showed a little change. We believe that the proposed approach is very helpful to optimize high-speed differential FPCB interconnects for LVDS applications.

  • In this study, we analyzed sedimentation and erosion environment around Halmiseom on Anmyeon Island using wind direction and wind speed data, gain size analysis data and datum-point measured values. To observe changes in sedimentation and erosion environment around Halmiseon, we installed datum points at 12 locations around Halmiseom and carried out at total of 32 field measurements from May 16th, 2010 to May 8th, 2012. The field measurement results showed that H-3, H-4, H-5 and H-9 points are dominated by sedimentation environment, and H-7, H-8, H-10, H-11 and H-12 points are dominated by erosion environment. Meanwhile, sedimentation and erosion appeared alternately at H-2 and H-6 points. These results indicate that a bank installed in the southwest side of Halmiseom prevented sand of the beach from moving to the northeast side, leaving the sand of the beach being deposited at the sites, and the northeast side, where sand was not provided from beach ridge of Halmiseon was dominated by sedimentation. That is, the southwest side of Halmiseom was dominated by sedimentation, but the northeast side was dominated by erosion in general. However, the opposite trends were observed at H-9 point of the northeast side and H-12 point of the southwest side. According to analysis, since H-9 point is located at the end of sand spit connected to Halmiseom, the supply of sediments by a tidal current is possible. On the other hand, it was difficult to analyze the cause of erosion in case of H-12 point located at the sand dune due to the short measurement period.

  • The estimation of available solar energy at particular locations is critical to find and assess suitable locations of PV sites. The amount of PV power generation is however affected by various geographical factors (e.g., weather), which may make it difficult to identify the complex relationship between affecting factors and power outputs and to apply findings from one study to another in different locations. This study thus undertakes a regression analysis using data collected from 172 PV plants spatially distributed in Korea to identify critical weather conditions and estimate the potential power generation of PV systems. Such data also include solar radiation, precipitation, fine dust, humidity, temperature, cloud amount, sunshine duration, and wind speed. The estimated PV power generation is then compared to the actual PV power generation to evaluate prediction performance. As a result, the proposed model achieves a MAPE of 11.696(%) and an R-squred of 0.979. It is also found that the variables, excluding humidity, are all statistically significant in predicting the efficiency of PV power generation. According, this study may facilitate the understanding of what weather conditions can be considered and the estimation of PV power generation for evaluating and determining suitable locations of PV facilities.

  • In the era of the fourth industrial revolution, Maritime Autonomous Surface Ship(MASS) are expected to emerge in the shipping industry. There has been much active research on collision avoidance systems regarding MASSs, but most of it has focused on merchant ships. A study of collision avoidance systems in fishing vessels is also essential, because Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships will encounter all type of vessels. In this study, the minimum passage distance between small-medium-sized fishing vessels and other vessels was investigated for the Ship's domain analysis. Based on the AIS data of Busan port and the adjacent area, the separation distances of fishing vessels were analyzed. The results indicated that as the speed of fishing vessels increased, the distance increased from 4L to 8L, and as length of the fishing vessels increased, the distance decreased from 10L to 6L. It is believed that the results of this study can be applied in the future to collision avoidance models for MASSs that reflect the domain of fishing vessels.

  • This study analyzes the effect of the changes in traffic environments such as transportation speeds on the time-distance accessibility for the public transportation passengers. To do this, we use passenger transaction databases of the Seoul metropolitan public transportation system: one week for each of the three years (2011, 2013, and 2015). These big data contain the information about time and space on the traffic trajectories of every passenger. In this study, the time-distances of links between subway stations and bus stops of the public transportation system at each time are calculated based on the actual travel time extracted from the traffic-card transaction database. The changes in the time-distance accessibility of the integrated transportation network from the experimental results can be summarized in two aspects. First, the accessibility tends to decline as the year goes by. This is because the transportation network becomes more complicated and then the average moving speed of the vehicles is lowered. Second, the accessibility tends to increase on the weekend in the analysis of accessibility changes by day. This tendency is because the bus speeds on bus routes on the weekend are faster than other days. In order to analyze the accessibility changes, we illustrate graphs of the vehicle speeds and the numbers of passengers by year and day.

  • In this study, a gasoline test vehicle was evaluated for drive quality in emissions and fuel economy tests. The measurement results were compared with the manufacturer's suggested values to evaluate whether the tolerance ranges (fuel efficiency -5%, greenhouse gas +5%) were exceeded. We carried out tests with test subjects based on the SAE J2951 evaluation method. The test vehicle was a 2L gasoline vehicle. The drive following performance was found to increase under deliberate driving conditions and decreased in smooth driving conditions. As a result of the analysis of the drive following performance, the closer the value is to 1, the more accurate the driving is. (-) indicates harsh conditions, and (+) indicates gentle conditions. The basic data on the driver following between testers was obtained by analysis of the tests. The fuel efficiency correlation with the drive following performance within the target speed range of the fuel consumption mode. In the future, these measurement results can serve as key data for securing an exhaust gas database and fuel efficiency system for each measurement mode.

  • Cavitation refers to a phenomenon in which empty spaces occur in a fluid due to changes in pressure and a velocity. When a liquid moves at a high speed, the pressure drops below the vapor pressure, and vapor bubbles are generated in the liquid. This study used CFD to analyze the flow of fluid machinery used in marine and offshore plants. The goals are to ensure the validity of the analysis method for marine propellers in an open water test, to increase the forward ratio, and to use FLUENT to understand the flow pattern due to cavitation. A three-dimensional analysis was performed and compared with experimental data from MOERI. The efficiency was highest at advance ratios of 0.7 - 0.8. Thrust was generated due to the difference between the pressure surface and the suction surface, and it was estimated that bubbles would be generated in the vicinity of the back side surface rather than the face side of the propeller, resulting in more cavitation. The cavitation decreased sharply as the advance ratio increased. The thrust and torque coefficients were comparable to those of the MOERI experimental data except at the advance ratio of 1, which showed a difference of less than 5%. Therefore, it was confirmed that CFD can evaluate an open water propeller test.

  • Purpose: Greenhouse gases are one of the major causes of global warming, a global disaster. It aims to improve how effective the GHG reduction policy, which is the main cause of global warming in the transportation sector, has been effective on the highway and how to calculate GHG emissions. Method: Using the DSRC raw data, we estimate the emissions of Namhae Expressway (Yeongam-Suncheon) from 2017 to 2019 in two ways, a macro method (conventional) and a micro method (individual vehicle). Result: As a result of calculating the emission of the highway, the result was far exceeding the estimated emission, and it was found that when the calculation was performed for each vehicle, it was underestimated by more than 20%. Conclusion: If more emissions are continuously emitted than expected in the current transportation sector, additional emission reduction policies are needed to achieve the current greenhouse gas reduction targets. In addition, in the calculation of emissions, which is the basis of this policy, analysis was conducted for each individual vehicle using the current DSRC raw data, but using GPS afterwards will enable precise emission calculation through a more microscopic analysis.
