  • XML Web Service based on internet can cause problems on transmission speed and data error. Also system analysis results simulated by several different research groups can hardly have reliability because of error data that come from improperly managed files. In order to solve this problems, algorithm sever using XML Web Service is shared on the internet so widely that various application programs based on basic analysis module with a united IO can be developed. And also XML Dataset DB is interacted with XML Web Service, which prevents propagation of error data. It causes to improve reliabilityon the load flow analysis result and solve the problems on data error or transmission speed that can possibly come from internet.

  • Traffic simulation models have been used for assessing various transportation strategies. Through comparing results from a simulation model and real field data, researchers try to show how close the model can reproduce the real world traffic. This model verification step is one of the most essential tasks in modeling procedure. Traffic counts and speeds have been frequently used for the verification or validation. Authors modeled severe PM peak bottleneck situation on the I-40 corridor in Raleigh, North Carolina using DYNASMART-P, a mesoscopic traffic simulation tool and verified the model. NCDOT has Traffic Information Management System which has archive capability for the traffic speeds on the I-40 corridor. However, the authors selected travel time as the field measure for model verification and collected the data using a GPS equipment because the speed data from NCDOT speed detectors are spot speeds which are not appropriate for comparison with link average speed from the simulation model. This paper describes the GPS field data collection procedure, the model verification method, and the results.

  • This study introduces a developed artificial neural networks(ANN) model as a more efficient and reliable prediction model in operating speed Prediction with the 85th percentile horizontal curve of two-way rural highway in the aspect of evaluating highway design consistency. On the assumption that the speed is decided by highway geometry features, total 30 survey sites were selected. Data include currie radius, curve length, intersection angle, sight distance, lane width, and lane of those sites and were used as input layer data of the ANN. The optimized model structure was drawn by number of unit of hidden layer, learning coefficient, momentum coefficient, and change in learning frequency in multi-layer a ANN model. To verify learning Performance of ANN, 30 survey sites were selected while data in obtained from the 20 cites were used as learning data and those from the remaining 10 sites were used as predictive data. As a result of statistical verification, the model D of 4 types of ANN was evaluated as the most similar model to the actual operating speed value: R2 was 85% and %RMSE was 0.0204.

  • We design a small-area, low-power, and high-speed EEPROM for touch screen controller IC. As a small-area EEPROM design, a SSTC (side-wall selective transistor) cell is proposed, and high-voltage switching circuits repeated in the EEPROM core circuit are optimized. A digital data-bus sensing amplifier circuit is proposed as a low-power technology. For high speed, the distributed data-bus scheme is applied, and the driving voltage for both the EEPROM cell and the high-voltage switching circuits uses VDDP (=3.3V) which is higher than the logic voltage, VDD (=1.8V), using a dual power supply. The layout size of the designed 128-KBit EEPROMIP is $662.31{\mu}m{\times}1314.89{\mu}m$.

  • In this paper, we suggests methods for determining optimal representative value and the optimal size of historical data for reliable travel speed prediction. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method in real world environments, we did field tests at four roadway links in Seoul on Tuesday and Sunday. According to the results of applying the methods to historical data of Central Traffic Information Center, the optimal representative value were analyzed to be average and weighted average. Second, it was analyzed that 2 months data is the optimal size of historical data used for travel speed prediction.

  • In this study, the PV output and module temperature values were predicted using the Meteorological Agency data and compared with actual data, weather, solar radiation, ambient temperature, and wind speed. The forecast accuracy by weather was the lowest in the data on a clear day, which had the most data of the day when it was snowing or the sun was hit at dawn. The predicted accuracy of the module temperature and the amount of power generation according to the amount of insolation decreased as the amount of insolation increased, and the predicted accuracy according to the ambient temperature decreased as the module temperature increased as the ambient temperature increased and the amount of power generated lowered the ambient temperature. As for wind speed, the predicted accuracy decreased as the wind speed increased for both module temperature and power generation, but it was difficult to define the correlation because wind speed was insignificant than the influence of other weather conditions.

  • Over 12 years have passed since the first commercial operation of a Korean high-speed train. Since then, the transport capacity of the high-speed lines has become almost saturated. Therefore, studies have been carried out to increase the operating speed of the trains in order to increase their transportation capacity. This study was carried out to improve the critical speed of the KTX-Sancheon, Korean high-speed train, in order to increase its operating speed. A dynamic analysis of the KTX-Sancheon train was performed using the contact data obtained from the wheel wear profiles that were measured from a KTX-Sancheon train in commercial operation. The analysis results were verified by comparing them with the measurement acceleration data obtained from KTX-Sancheon. The suspension parameters were optimized to improve the operation speed. The critical speed of KTX-Sancheon was increased by 9.4% after the optimization by the response surface method. The optimized suspension parameters are expected to be used for the new bogie design to increase the operating speed of KTX-Sancheon from 300km/h to 350km/h.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effects of mowing height, rolling, N-fertilizing, and season on green speed(i.e., ball-roll distance) for developing and implementing a program of increasing green speed in Korean golf courses. Data were subjected to multi-regression analysis using SPSSWIN(Statistical Package for the Social Science), which collected from Yong-Pyong golf course greens selected to investigate. The results was as follows. 1) The multi-regression analysis of mowing height, rolling times, and N-fertilizer application rates on spring green speed was as follows; $Y_1$(spring green speed)=4.287+0.155X$_1$(rolling times)-0.131X$_2$(the amount of N-fertilizing)-0.251X$_3$(mowing height). 2) The multi-regression analysis of mowing height, rolling times, and N-fertilizer application rates on summer green speed was as follows; $Y_2$(summer green speed)=4.833-0.423X$_3$(mowing height)+0.146X$_1$(rolling times)-0.107X$_2$(the amount of N-fertilizing). 3) The multi-regression analysis of mowing height, rolling times, and N-fertilizer application rates on fall green speed was as follows; $Y_3$(fall green speed)=4.651-0.383X$_3$(mowing height)+0.142X$_1$(rolling times)-0.103X$_2$(the amount of N-fertilizing). 4) As mowing height was lowered by 1mm, green speed increased by 0.251~0.423m. As rolling times increased by 1(one), green speed increased by0.142~0.15m. As the amount of N-fertilizing increased by 1g/$m^2$, green speed decreased by 0.103~0.131m. The season also affected green speed. In comparison with spring green speed, summer green speed decreased by 0.145m and fall green speed decreased by 0.144m.
